Spelling: Spelling Games Reviews

so the reviews on Spelling looked really great so i downloaded it because I’m going in a this app bee contest soon. for the most part the reviews are accurate and the developers actually fixed some of the problems which I think is great. however there is one thing that really annoys me. when I want to see what words I missed, it shows me some thing about paying money to get premium or something idk I wasn’t really looking at it. for some of the exams you only get 5 mins to do it, which is fine in most cases, but that’s not enough time to memorize which this app of this word or that word is correct. developer if you could fix this I’ll probably raise my rating to 5 stars -P.S oh yeah and btw for once in all the this app bee apps I’ve seen this one has art that doesn’t burn your eyes👍and I think it’s nice to see the words you’ve mastered and I like seeing my level go up (did I mention there were levels? And yes I understand that the programmer needs to be payed but come on I have like 200 words mastered it’s a pain to scroll through all of them to see the correct this app of a word)

Hello developer! I just wanted to stay I rarely give four star reviews. I have wanted to find a nice this app game for a long time. I finally found this one after deleting a few (like, 18?) apps that had wrong this app in them. Spelling though, uses a Mariam(I didn’t know think I spelt that right) Webster Dictionary. I have wanted to get to the Nationals in the this app bees, but I have failed multiple times. I think that if I practice using Spelling I will be good to go! I highly suggest Spelling for youngsters (no inappropriate ads/words) that are like me, wanting to get into Nationals. Just a few suggestions...
1. Why the money, I don’t want to pay for a this app game.
2. Maybe put in a practice this app Bee, like have multiple players compete in a Bee. That would be, like, epic.
3. Keep going Developers! You got this! :D

I got this for my daughter to help improve her this app. The games/activities are great, however the words by grade level are definitely not age appropriate. I have been a teacher for 15 years, and the words Spelling uses are very difficult and obscure. The words by grade/age definitely need to be re-evaluated. Also, the audio portion of Spelling can be difficult to understand. It would be great if Spelling also had an audio feature that said the words for the multiple choice and fill in the blank games. Since the words are so obscure, even I am just stabbing in the dark sometimes guessing what the word is supposed to be. Spelling has the potential to really be great, but needs some tweaks here and there.

I like the game in which you construct words from letters in a circle which must contain the letter in the middle. But after a while crocodile you hit a limit as to how many words you, personally are able to construct using these letters.

Would be nice if the game would allow you to proceed to another game, but it seems hellbent on you finishing each and every possible word combination using those letters before allowing you to play a new combination, which most people are not going to be able to do.

So you’re basically stuck at the third level and cannot proceed to another game. This is stupid, please fix. Not everybody is a walking dictionary, and the objective here is to learn and have fun, not be punished for not arriving at all possible combinations!

I’ve got a few issues with Spelling. First of all, this is not grade level whatsoever and who chose these words? Nobody uses these words! Bodhran? Beurre? Moiety? These were from the 7th grade list. Second of all, there should be a wrong answer limit and the answer should be given when those are used up. It currently has no limit set which means you will sit there and input literally every letter until it’s correct. That is incredibly mundane and frustrating. Third of all, it defaults to level hard and you cannot change that.
The only good thing I can say is that I enjoy the options to choose from: by grade level, by topic, by game, or by fill in the blank. Lots of options!

I’ve downloaded every app out there and this is the only one that you can listen to the word and then try this app it, then it tells you what you did wrong. It’s FINALLY what you need to actually learn how to spell.

Also you can do your own list of words and it will do voice then to you. It’s great.

Only downside is how horrendous the voicing is. So many times, it’s super unclear what they say half the time. They say something like “hat” and then I get it wrong and it’s “cat”. The voicing is not clear at all but they are very smart and have three different voicers so that you can hear another robot say it and maybe make sure what the word is.

The mix ups of the voicers doesn’t really matter if you don’t care about scores and you just care about learning.

As a lover of word games, I knew I had to check out Spelling. I love how smooth Spelling runs and the diversity of content it provides. My nephew is eight years old and also loves Spelling! It's been amazing to have some interactive and educational screen time.

Spelling Audio doesn’t work 99 times out of 100. When the most basic functionality fails to work it’s not even worth 1 star rating I gave. If I had a option to give minus 5 stars then Spelling definitely deserves one.
Emailed customer service too not surprisingly no response even after a week. When u pay so much you expect it to at least work. Even the features are poorly designed. I wanted was 9 yr old son to prepare for this app bee competition and he was really disappointed.

I’ve been using Spelling to practice my this app and for this app bees etc. It’s very good overall, and I like the multiple grade levels. However, there are two issues:

1. The audio pronunciations are quite often wrong, too fast, or just incorrectly pronounced, If you listen to the actual pronouncing in dictionaries, it’s often different and that has caused me to miss words quite often, For example, the audio pronounces “modiste” as “mojist.”

2. The fill in the blank option only has very easy words like “mail” or “apple” I was hoping it would have harder words. The same goes for topics.

Wanted this to create word lists for my child to learn from. Unbelievably badly designed format for inputting words. Each word has to be done individually and processed individually which is very slow going. Why on earth you wouldn’t be able to dictate or type and input the whole list is beyond me.

Furthermore once I had inputted the list and begun practice with my child, Spelling promptly. Rashes after a few minutes and the list was lost…

Was this designed by beginner developers???

I literally just started five minutes ago and I’ve already leveled up my avatar twice great game well I mean billing app but still I mean there are all these games including word searches and hangman and I honestly didn’t think I’d like it at first but it’s great TTYL

Love this game. I can feel I’m already getting better at this app. Still have a long way to go to master the hard this app bee words, but getting there. Seriously, where does Scripps get these hard words from? Lol.

I paid for the upgrade and after a couple of days it’s not working. This is very frustrating for my son. I tried restoring purchases but it keeps saying use the same Apple ID which I am both on the iPad and in Spelling Store. It shows purchase under that ID’s purchase history yet I cannot used what I paid for. Can someone please sort this out - I don’t have any contact info for whom to contact regarding this problem.

Hi! Luv Spelling but could write the right this app. 👍🏻 this is perfect for me. I am obsessed with this app 🐝s and now watch them everyday. Wish I could be on scripps for grade four. Why I put this suggestion, well? I want it to teach you and me something like a real this app 🐝 which will make a huge update for players. It will get you more users and five star reviews. Hot Tip. The audio is terrible. I’m a native speaker and I still have trouble understanding what they’re saying. For example, it sounds like they’re saying “at” but they’re actually saying “that.” If a simple word as “that” can’t be recognized then I can’t imagine what more complex words. Spelling could have been perfect (5 star) otherwise.

My child has been doing good on Spelling my other kids are doing well to I love Spelling so much better than teaching them the.

This is a great app but if you could create a setting in the fill in the blanks one that allows you to pause the timer so that if you need to look away for a second you can. Otherwise, great job!!! :)

I keep on getting words when I spell them the less common way or even sometimes the more common way. I think both ways should be accepted.

I think this was the best tool I have used! My other method was my mom calling the words to me😃. Overall this one was the best app! I give credit to my language arts teacher😁

I competed in a bunch of this app bees and personally this would have been a lifesaver if it had existed back then! I tutor kids who are competing in the bee and I’ll definitely be recommending this :)

i’ve been looking for an app that has challenging words and a good user interface and Spelling has both! this is great for this app bees and works very well. sad it came out after i aged out of the bee but im excited to use it to refresh my brain with this app!
