About Apocrypha

Apocrypha / Deuterocanonical: Bible's Lost Books includes these books: 1 Esdras, 2 Esdras, Tobit, Judith, Additions to Esther, Wisdom of Solomon, Sirach, Baruch, the Letter of Jeremiah, Prayer of Azariah, Susanna, Bel and the Dragon, Prayer of Manasseh, 1 Maccabees, 2 Maccabees, and Laodiceans.

+ Free Bible App from the same developer, The King James Version (KJV) & The World English Bible (WEB) are available to download.

The King James Version (KJV) & The World English Bible (WEB) are available to download within the app for free.

The apocrypha is a selection of books which were published in the original 1611 King James Bible (KJV).

With more than 20 English translations of the Bible currently available, the King James Version (1611) is still considered by many scholars to be the most influential and popular version.

The 70 missing verses in 2 Esdras are not part of the King James Version Apocrypha, but are revealed in the Cambridge Annotated Study Apocrypha -edited by: Howard C.

Many claim the apocrypha should never have been included in the first place, raising doubt about its validity and believing it was not God-inspired (for instance, a reference about magic seems inconsistent with the rest of the Bible: Tobit chapter 6, verses 5-8).

The word 'apocrypha' means 'hidden.' Fragments of Dead Sea Scrolls dating back to before 70 A.D. contained parts of the apocrypha books in Hebrew, including Sirach and Tobit.

The apocrypha was a part of the KJV for 274 years until being removed in 1885 A.D. A portion of these books were called deuterocanonical books by some entities, such as the Catholic church.

In 1604, King James I of England authorized the re-translation of the Bible into English.

Others believe it is valid and that it should never have been removed- that it was considered part of the Bible for nearly 2,000 years before it was recently removed a little more than 100 years ago.

The World English Bible (WEB) is a complete translation of the Holy Bible in normal modern English.

These verses are also available in the NRSV Holy Bible with the Apocrypha-by Oxford University Press.

+ Feel free to adjust the font size, word spacing, line height, background color, and page margins for optimal reading.

Levi

Only those that have the spirit of God will hear the Lords voice and to them will he only call. The religious world can not attain the perfection of their souls because they serve to themselves. But the Lord watches over his people and feeds them and clothes them. Blessed be the name of the Lord and Holy is his name.

Good for Reading

But the controls do not work all the time. The bookmarks don’t work at all, including highlight features, but the stories of the Bible are always available. And I know it must’ve been hard to get all these this app books together, but please fix the features or maybe create ones that are more simpler. People need to know of the books of the this app and it should be a pleasant experience for everyone. Thank you

Great App

The only reason I gave Apocrypha 4/5 stars is because I have ADHD and comprehend things much better when I can listen to it rather than read it myself. The voice in Apocrypha is not good. It’s hard to listen to. HOWEVER, I am thankful to have the this app on my phone to reference.

Well done!!

I love Apocrypha! User friendly and Uber functional. Not hard on the eyes either. My go to app for the this app. Only recommendation—please add a male reader with normal voice!

Custom URL

Could you add support for a 'Custom URL' scheme that will open Apocrypha to a specified book, chapter and verse? I would probably purchase the pro version if this was done.

I would have asked through app support, but that just takes me to a defunct Google+ web page.

All the features don’t work properly on iPad

This is a great app; however some of the features don’t work properly… Like the note screen, etc.… It doesn’t work properly on my iPad. I hope someone reads this and fixes it.

Nice find

I wouldn’t have known about this or the other missing books if it wasn’t for my Nation of people. HalleluYAH

By

Missing key feature

Apocrypha is cool from the auto scroll feature to the full page button etc etc but one major thing is missing, you can’t search!!! Why would there not be a search bar?? Major set back for me. On to another app.

Good app

It’s pretty good so far. The main thing I can say that needs improvement is the spelling. I’m just reading along and come across spelling errors that hang me up and drive me nuts. Other than that, it’s a good app.

Good

Although I do not like the computerized voiced reading, it is better than not having the option at all. So far I’m glad I found Apocrypha

Good Reading.

The this app App is good for reading, however, the only thing I don't like is the tabs where you can't navigate the page.

Apocrypha “The Lost Books”

Really enjoyed Apocrypha. Requesting in the future a audio verse of Apocrypha.

By

The apocrypha

The audio it’s not good it’s horrible I sounds like a computer
and it’s not saying the words very plain
Makes it hard to Liston to andMeditate on

Time is up

I would have given Apocrypha 5 stars but it's missing "word search". Otherwise, I am most grateful for this portable translation. This book has the basic number of books circulating while some may have more. However, this keeper is good ground to walk on in faith.

Book chapters missing. Almost doesn’t count.

I was gonna give Apocrypha a good rating but it has books and chapters missing, for example, Baruch chapter 6 is completely gone. This was almost the best this app app.
