Paid for a subscription for Spanish and now only half of the Spanish lessons are available. Says it’s coming soon but I’ve been waiting months for it. Emailed the help center about it because if it isn’t coming very soon, I want a refund.
For now my review will stay the same till something changes.

My mother tongue isn’t in their supporting languages for translation and I should choose a language that I don't understand. I don’t need translation and I can understand sentences. Please add English in your menu.

You can do probably like one lesson and then it makes you choose to pay either 8 dollars or 20 dollars a month and I don’t have that kinda of money to just through around like that at least have some features free like how Duolingo has hearts maybe at like energy or something and you use it for lessons but it is a really good app you just need to make it accessible to everyone

It requires Korean phone number and such so it's not usable or user friendly. Everytime I input my contact information doesn't work. What sort of application is this????

1. 어려운단어를 발음못해 인식못하는건 그렇다하나 with, under같은 쉬운 발음조차 인식을 잘 못함

2. 문장을 들려주고 따라하라고 하면 따라할 시간은 어느정도 앞에 원어민이 했던 시간만큼은 줘야하지않나? 뒤에 몇개는 따라하기도 전에 끝나버림. 실제로 시간을 제보니 어떤 문장이 원어민이 한 3초하면 나에겐 발음을 시작하고나서 2초의 시간밖에 안주니 다 말하기도 전에 끝남. 겁나 빨리 얘기해야함

I opened Speak and it's in Spanish. I don't understand Spanish at all and my iPhone is in English.

I have to go through my bank and have a new debit card sent to me because I didn’t approve the transaction from this company. I tried the free trial and they charged me even after I cancelled it beforehand. I had the date marked in my reminders to cancel. I know when it was going to charge me! Don’t get my wrong this is a great app I really enjoyed it but why steal my money? Just don’t offer the free trial if your going to do that it’s greedy.

The system is very unstable. When I click on the correction exercise after the conversation, 80% of the time it will appear in a circle, prompt an error message, and ask me to contact customer service, but I can only communicate with Korean customer service in Korean. I don’t understand Korean at all. It’s a very bad user experience.

Something is off with my app . It doesn't show anything no lessons , no plans nothing.
Every time i get into it there's written "no lessons available now" .

Cheapest plan is $99 a year or $20 a month which is too much for me right now unfortunately. Wish I could keep using it to learn Spanish

Hi there,

I think Speak is really cool for practicing English speaking with AI. But there are a couple of things I'm not a fan of.

Firstly, I'm from Thailand and my main language is Thai, but Speak only lets me choose Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, French, Portuguese, and German as my native language.

Secondly, it's not actually free.

Just wanted to share my thoughts!

I’m trying to learn English why is the entire app text in Korean? Do I need to learn Korean first?

You have the website and the AppStore text in English already

I think this would be an amazing app for $6-12/month. However, it’s just not robust enough for the price tag at this point. $20/month is steep when there is a lack of explanation for errors and often the voice recognition does not pick up words. The ai feature is really great and interesting but there needs to be more integration for immediate correction with explanation of why.

I hope the developers consider lowering the price until the feature set is more mature. I did two or so months and just canceled. It’s just not thorough enough for the cost.

I learned quite a lot, but it’s annoying that you have to pay to continue with your lessons. I like it when it’s 100% free so then children who have their parents account get to learn Spanish without them having to pay anything especially if they can’t afford it that is just bull shrimp

Speak is great. I wish there is a way to change font size. I subscribed to Speak so my grandma can learn English while she’s visiting me, but she can barely see the text in Speak .

Speak is good and useful. But there’s a significant problem that I encountered. I used to mirror screen from iPad to AppleTV. When I use this app this way, the video lesson’s video and audio has latency. After playing video for about 1 minute, the video is slower than its audio. This makes the actors mouth shape can’t match the audio, which is very painful for a language speaking app. I’ll change the score to 5 stars if this issue got fixed. Thanks!

I like that there is a little bit to do even though some things are locked. It makes sure you still get what you need even though you don’t want to pay or you can’t pay. 10/10 recommend Speak.

As a working professional, I have been looking for such an app for a while, i want to use Speak to improve my English in a business professional environment, however Speak is more for daily usage and the dialog looks a bit simple to me when I first logged in. I think it’s good in general for beginner, but does your company has plan to make it work for complicated business use case like negotiation, presentation or daily meeting? I will pay for that. Thank you.

The concept and execution are amazing. It really gets you speaking and thinking critically and quickly. I have reached out about a bug, however. When speaking, some of my corrections are written in english (my native language) instead of spanish. For example, if i say something like “no me gusta eso ya”, the correction feedback will tell me it sounds more natural to say it with ya in front. BUT the actual corrected phrase will say in english “i don’t like that anymore.” Instead of “ya no me gusta eso.” - which would be the corrected spanish phrase. So it’s hard to correct myself/learn from some mistakes.

I was using Speak daily for almost two months straight just to open it one day and my subscription was no longer valid. I did not delete my account nor did I ask for it to be deleted. I paid the yearly subscription fee and did not get the full use from Speak. Other than a few errors here and there I was very happy using Speak even when I was told there wasn’t a timeframe for when the rest of my lesson plans would be available. I have emailed you all at two different email addresses as well as tried contacting you on social media. I would like to hear from someone as soon as possible because I am not happy with what’s going on with my account. I felt as if my confidence with speaking Spanish was improving daily because of the way Speak organized the lesson plans along with being able to free talk with the AI tutor. I need answers!!!!!!

I love Speak a lot. The only complaint is that I am unable to review the old conversations I had unless I saved some sentences. Sometimes I finish a conversation but I don’t have time to see all the mistakes I make. Unfortunately I can not go back to learn what I have left.

I really love Speak. Best app to learn a new language. I am speaking 1,000 I can have a conversation with my friends that’s learning as well on Speak and have a fluent conversation with understanding each other. I definitely recommend.

It’s been over 10 years since I studied Spanish in school and I’ve forgotten most of it. I’ve tried both Duolingo and this app - and really prefer this app!

Unlike traditional language learning, this app gets you to say phrases out loud which I find helps me remember them much faster. They also teach phrases the way people actually talk as opposed to Duolingo which I find uses more formal phrasing.

I look forward to the French version becoming available!

I love Speak because it doesn’t only tell you just some simple words. It puts the words into sentences, which helps you sound like a pretty fluent speaker just not all the way. I know a lot of people that use Speak and they also agree with me on how it helps them this app Spanish and when they travel, they definitely recommend using it especially because it’s going to offer more options than Spanish, because when I was first starting and was making an account. It had English Spanish and then the ones that weren’t made yet was like FrenchGerman Vietnamese Chinese and this is such a good app. I definitely recommend for anyone trying to learn a new language.

I have been learning Spanish for years. The things that always confused me are always cleared up in Speak. I always had an issue with understand Indirect and direct object pronouns and thanks to Speak I know how to understand them now.

Speak has been great to get you speaking relevant phrases with instant feedback. It’s also helpful to playback what you said so you can work on your accent and pronunciation.

Only feedback would be to allow for more customization on dialects. I will respond to some of the prompts with Colombian phrases or slang and it will correct it to a more formal response saying that it is incorrect.

I contacted this app customer service twice and also contacted to apple itunes for their in-app purchase error. My problem was not solved so I gave up. Very disappointed with their system error.

I’m fluent in Spanish, but haven’t been using it much and this is hands down the best app I’ve used to keep up with the language! It’s AI used in the best way, customized for your learning level and your desired real life application! So well done!

This is the best app -paid or otherwise- I have come across for improving my Spanish speaking. I spent years with Duolingo and others but the focus is more on reading and writing which are legitimate but separate skills from listening and speaking which you will be leaning from Speak. Highly recommend, if you actually want to listen, comprehend, and this app Spanish, and you have some money to spare do not hesitate to purchase Speak!!!

Im learning a lot on Speak. Yes I pay $20 a month but this is something I really want to learn. I just find it weird that people want to use Speak for free. There was a lot of efforts, thought and curriculum in Speak that really helps you learn. Not to mention there aren’t any ads interrupting your learning. If you pay for something, you’re likely to take advantage because you don’t want to waste your money. So all in all, Thank you for making Speak.

My goal is to be fluent in Spanish by the end of the year. I think that’s is highly likely with Speak. It has a deep understanding and comprehension that apps like duolingo just don’t have. I absolutely love it!

I did 100 days on duo, its greate for grammar and vocab. But it will be awile before i become conversational using that. Just did day one with this, i will pair the two together. But so far, this will definitely get me to being conversational faster/more effectively

As someone who has studied Spanish for a few years but struggles to this app it more, Speak is perfect. If you want to this app more but struggle to socially put yourself out there, this would be a good app for you.

What made me really happy is that the lessons understood my husband’s Spanish without him having to slow down or change his accent.
