Myk - for GoPro Video Editing Reviews

As a musician I use the GoPro 3.5mm adapter to pull audio from the sound desk or my personal mixer and record it directly onto the GoPro so as not to have to sync up the audio and video in iMovie or a comparable program later on. The adapter works well but occasionally records the audio and video out of sync which completely defeated the purpose of the adapter. I was looking to bypass the mac and do everything on the iphone. I was ready to call it quits on the GoPro adapter until I found Myk. The ability to resync the audio and video on the iPhone in seconds is amazing and saves me hours and hours of time and tons of space on my computer! Worth every penny I spent on the lifetime subscription! Thank you for this!!

So far I haven’t had much luck with this. When it works it works great! But usually for short clips. My recordings tend to run long some times and I use Myk with a lapel mic for audio having my GoPro in a case. I like the idea of it but on longer videos I’ve experienced video or audio lost. On Myk . Rebuilding an engine AGAIN for the sole purpose of having decent audio is not ideal. Being able to record video and audio on two separate devices and syncing them was insanely awesome. But I can do that with a cheap voice recorder and a couple extra minutes of editing. It worked fine up until I paid for Myk .

I like the idea of Myk , and even purchased the lifetime version to use with my Hero 8 (once Myk supported it). Having trouble mixing the telemetry data to my video. When I choose the data fields I want and hit ‘mix’, that app crashes, and my phone (iPhone 11 Pro Max) return to the home screen. Only two times I have been able to add the telemetry data, and the speed is way off. I’ve been using it for mountain bike video, and the speedometer shows single digit speeds when I am at least 20mph. I can be stopped, and the telemetry data is still showing that I’m moving.

I’ve tried numerous times on 2 different devices to upload videos and it disconnects from my go pro within 2-3 minutes. I could never get it to work. Both devices were updated with plenty of space. Other apps worked. Unfortunately since i bought Myk , they didn’t offer a refund. if you do download this DO NOT BUY it, subscribe to a monthly subscription and cancel it. They seemed like they’d work with me until i told them I bought it, they wouldn’t refund. So i never got to use Myk .

Everything works as promised except until I save the video after the mix/edit. It “saves” it but it’s always a blacked out video. Tried everything they recommended but still getting a blacked out video. It did solve my issues of multiple mics but I can’t save it correctly...need help....

It does connect to the GoPro 8 flawlessly and records great, wouldn’t recommend recording longer than 8 minute videos and things get very buggy with Myk /sound/video.

I bought the lifetime version for a one time payment and after a while Myk asks me to purchase it again. I emailed customer service and there’s a ticket open for my issue but nothing. I’m emailed many times and had several open tickets up but nothing. I’ve also asked for a refund and nothing. Don’t buy this crappy product. They might steal your money like they did mine.

However, 8 out 10 times I get error messages saying my camera (Hero 6 Black) doesn’t support the streaming feature. When that error appears, the audio and video files won’t sync up.

I've watched the videos. I've reset everything. Turned it off. Back on. Forgot device. Opened closed. Did a little dance. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Also preview doesn't work. Downloads doesn't work. I can connect WiFi. I connect Bluetooth. I can see the files. I can start recording. But, I can't transfer files. So. What's the point?

Best way to get great audio for my GoPro videos. I use my AirPods while I film & with this app, everything syncs automatically and I have the final video on my phone. So easy to post to social media and share.

Had a hero7 and loved Myk, but since upgrading to the hero8 and trading in my hero7, I haven’t been able to vlog or create. I don’t want to go to a wired solution, but can’t just stop creating. PLEASE AIMOTION, ADD SUPPORT FOR HERO8!!!! 🙏🏼

I was really excited when I saw Myk. But now I’m disappointed because my Gopro will not connect. Then the support page says they will take longer than usual to respond because of COVID. What a farce! Because of COVID?! Stop playing the COVID theatrics and get to work. Don’t use that as an excuse.

i like Myk but i am considering buying the pro but i can’t use the free trial. how come?

I’ll update my review accordingly, Will this be supporting the MAX soon? Even in hero mode.
I couldn’t connect no matter what I tried. I realize this is because the max isn’t (yet?) supported.
I got Myk because I’ve the large iPhone 6plus, and the GoPro app only supports iOS 13 and above.

I have a GoPro 4 Session, and Myk could handle it much better than GpPro app.

Number one it made me pay for it and I didn’t want to so I said my be I’d do free trial then I said no hit cancel and deleted Myk but here’s the thing it charged me I am going to tell everybody I know with a GoPro to NOtT get Myk and it isn’t even worth it most likely

Easy to setup, works great.

So annoying i purchased this thinking it was gonna help me solve the problem but it doesn’t let me download in high quality! Fix it pls or I’m canceling my subscription

I always use Myk in concert with the official GoPro app because it is much better at maintaining a Bluetooth connection as opposed to using the GoPro app by itself. Plus the sound is great when using external microphone along with Myk. using both apps together when shooting with my go Pro is the only way I’ll do it now on. The performance of my camera is improved overall when I use them both. If I’m having problems with one of the apps I can just switch over to the other one and usually once I can get things going one app, the other app i’m having problems with starts to work—It’s great.
