Not free anymore

I downloaded Present a week or so before the new update and seemingly lost the progress I had made thus far. I went to open Present as usual in the morning to meditate and was brought to a screen that I can’t get out of without signing up for a subscription either billed monthly or yearly. I sent two emails to the email address they provided right here in Present Store and still haven’t heard a response. Present used to be “subscription free” and allowed access to many different meditations but now you must sign up! It still states this is an app with free meditations which is why I’m giving it two stars. I hate to give it a bad review, but I haven’t gotten an email back in about a week and found they have no consideration to those who were already using Present .

I agree

I agree exactly with what you said above I had that app for a while now and enjoyed the free meditations and then all of a sudden it no longer was free and it was a yearly or monthly fee I’m very disappointed as well because I had Present before they charge for it so I believe that people that had it before they started charging should’ve been able to keep that app for free so I no longer use Present and think that I was very wrong for the people that were using Present and to not at least give us a few free meditations I also don’t want to give it a lower rate because I actually really liked Present but I don’t want to give it five stars either because I’m upset so I will give it three stars

Just missing one thing!

I really like the guided meditation but I wish there was an option to have background noise so it isn’t completely silent. I find that my mind wanders more when there is no background noise/music.

Beth Kurland, Ph.D.

As a clinical psychologist and teacher and practiioner of mindfulness, I am always looking for apps and other resources for my clients. Present is by far one of the best apps I have come across for teaching and practicing mindfulness! In just 10 minutes a day, people can practice mindfulness, and can learn how to bring it into their day. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for ways to reduce stress, experience more presence, and cultivate well-being.

I can’t cancel my subscription

When I got Present I was very happy to see a free three day trial once I hit the button it said I could cancel the trail whenever. However I’ve searched the whole app and haven’t found a button that does such thing I feel cheated and scammed and want to cancel it before I have to pay for this over priced meditation service app.
If I can get a real answer to my problem I would take the one star back and give it a solid 4.5 because I love how Present works just I feel used and feel like you really don’t care about the customer and just the money we give you.

Non-existent customer support, priced too high

I have never left a review for any app, but I felt obligated to do so with this one. I downloaded Present to try it out for free for 3 days but I cancelled it before my trial ended. I still got charged for an entire month so I tried contacting the this app team through every single email I could find but to this day I have not gotten a single response. To make matters worse Present is not even working for what I was charged. For an app that is priced so high, their customer support should be great but it’s non-existent. Still trying to get a refund for an app I cannot even use!

LOVE this one

the voice and meditations are great! i love the visual aesthetics as well. my favorite meditation app! EDIT: I am confused, however. Was using Present and got a msg saying if i wrote a review, then Present would be free for me forever. since i genuinely love Present , was happy to do so - seemed like a win-win. but then i was charged anyway, despite that promise. that was disappointing, to be told something untrue like that.

Simple, easy to learn, free! Thanks!

Appreciate the fact that there is a way for me to begin and learn the art of meditation for free! Thank you so much for offering Present. So far I have completed a handfull of sessions and they are very easy to understand and clearly explain the steps and short enough that I can do them on a quick break at work.

Disappointed

I LOVED Present prior to the update. I am very upset that Present updated to only premium services, without any warning for its users. How can you change your "completely free" philosophy overnight? I unfortunately cannot afford to pay for a recurring meditation subscription. I was so happy to have found Present, I just wish I had been able to use it more before the change over from free use. I did not want to leave this bad review, but I never heard back from the developer when I contacted them. Please consider a limited use free version!

Wonderful for Mindful Based Meditation!

After completing a 2 month intensive Mindful based meditation class last year, I've been looking for an app to continue my practice! I just got started but can tell this is exactly the tool I need! I love that it sends you reminders to help make it a priority each day! So happy to have found it!

Amazing App for Meditation

I have just started using Present and it's amazing.
It starts you off with the foundation of meditation and builds on it which has been helpful . The lessons are about 10 minutes long which works into my schedule nicely.

I would suggest Present to anyone interested in learning about and practicing meditation.

Glad I pay attention. Deceiving trial period

Present looked very pretty.. but you won't get anywhere unless your agree to subscribe or do the trial, which I hesitantly accepted. The cute little button will tell you that is a 7 day free trial, HOWEVER, when you have to approve the download from Present store (when you put your fingerprint) it states that it's a 3-DAY trial period. If you're not paying attention and set your reminder to cancel close to day 7, you will already have been charged.
Not cool this app staff, not cool.

Get some ZZZs

I got say, as a user of headspace, I was skeptical of a free meditation app. But I find my self using Present on plane rides for work and actually falling asleep. I can't believe they are not charging for this, the meditations are just as good as the best apps out there and the interface is far superior.

Not free

As a physician, I used to recommend Present because unlike other apps that had “free meditation” but only allowed 7-10 sessions, this one was truly free. Now it is way too expensive for me to recommend, or even for me to want to use myself. At 10 minutes per session, it was a great introduction, gave a good variety of topics, and was very relaxing. All of the positive reviews are from before the “update”. I agree with all the negative reviews after the update.

Wasn’t for me and waste of money

I’m so sad and angry at myself right now 😢 I downloaded Present and signed up for the free trial on January 30 to see what Present was about but after browsing I found that it wasn’t for me so I deleted Present off my phone and I forgot to cancel the subscription right away. Right now after waking up I saw my card was charge for the subscription fee and I can't really find a reliable number or email to contact support

“No subscriptions..no ads” - No Truth

Very disappointed, just started using this after attending an in person session from the author just a few weeks ago where it was advertised as no fees. After using it for two weeks now it is pay-to-use. No warning, no option for existing users. Clearly her right, but a pretty big let down. I’ll look elsewhere. Present Store images still say “No Subscriptions No Ads”

Not Free And Pricey

Not only is Present no longer free, the subscription fee is extremely pricey. I don’t mind paying more for quality, but $12/mo or $60/year for an app is crazy. Why not offer a free app with basic features and charge a reasonable amount for premium features? Also, it appears my history in the prior version is completely gone, so I would have to start all over again anyway. Very disappointed and bummed.

MAKING MEDITATION A HABIT

This is the finest app on meditation around. It eases into your practice one step at a time. The instructor voice is well suited and the information is timely. If you get one app, THIS IS IT! Most of all it is FREE! Let's change the world one student at a time. Thank you.

Great way to start meditating

I have bought other meditation apps before but this one is my favorite. The speakers voice, the content and the way you unlock next levels are what sets it apart!
