Needs more features in my opinion

For the past few days I’ve been using Tully, because I was introduced by it, by Joyner, so I was intrigued to think that he made a song with an App! So out of curiosity I checked it out, I started writing some lyrics off a free beat provided by Tully . As far as I was concerned Tully was pretty decent so far, and I actually believed that Joyner really made a song only using Tully. I took upon myself to check out the free beats provided, and they didn’t cater towards the Hip-Hop Genre, so I tried importing a beat online, but I’m confused if you could import beats!(Make it more simple) So I tried to attempt on looking for a feature to produce my own beat, but that doesn’t exist though! In my opinion, it’s like everything was just advertised to be “100% made by the this app App”. If it isn’t obvious enough, this is more of a personal issue to be honest, but it puts me in distress, because Tully would just be insanely unique if you could make beats and record lyrics. Also, if you do end up implementing a “Producer” feature, it doesn’t need to be an entire professional beat maker, just something simple and nice, maybe add the feature of samples, and that’s really it.

App crashes. Lost all my files. Customer service MIA.

I used Tully religiously for over a year without a single issue. Then all of a sudden...after writing more than a dozen songs and at least 15 more unfinished projects, Tully claims to have an update. I perform the update, log back in and my profile was empty. Zero files. Zero lyrics.

I reached out to customer service. 1 week later, they finally respond and ask me for any possible screen names or email addresses associated. I reply. Another week later they reply and say they didn’t find anything...and asked me if I was sure those were the correct potential emails/screen names 😳. They said it must be my mistake...because I must have started a new profile when I updated Tully ...I did not. This is hours and hours of material lost...this has now been more than 2.5 months and still going. Can I please get a response that isn’t just the canned “please email customer support and they will help you” response...I’ve done that half a dozen times and it’s a waste of my time.

Very disappointed

I started with this app and I liked how you was able to bring up the beats while you write your lyrics. I started off happy but as I started writing I noticed it had a lot of bugs while I was writing it would just glitch and you would start writing in some random other spot. They make it pretty hard to edit lyrics seeing that when you click to edit it will automatically go to the bottom of the screen and then when I scroll up and press on the word or sentence I want to edit it will automatically bring me back to the bottom again. I had to click on a work high move screen down and slowly do that to get to the word. Lastly what is making me not use it no longer is that I speak almost 3 hours yesterday writing a song. I saved it and then I just went back to go over it and mysteriously it is now gone. 3 hours wasted on a song that I really liked too. It is a good concept but you have to get rid of these glitches please. Very stressful as an artist

Well done app. Suggestion if devs read reviews.

First of all, great app, this has almost every feature you could want in a phone app for musicians/artists. It would be 5 stars if it had the following additions/fixes:

Suggestion:
Add a feature that allows utilizing the “rhyme” feature while writing more user friendly. Having to double tap on a word and select rhyme and then choosing from the small box is a flaw in UX. Having a bar of suggestions (similar to iOS with autocorrect) that a user can select “on the fly” plays for better user interaction. Leaves more time for a new line rather than, going through more options and potentially forgetting your next line.

Fix:
I tried to add myself as an engineer for a client of mine and when I sent a request they couldn’t accept the request, and we were forced to leave Tully and do more authorizing in safari which still did not help. It was just a bit of a nightmare trying to get this done without being in the same room, and it still never got done.

Side note: I messaged support through Tully months ago and never got a response even though it says typical reply is 4 hours. (Lol)

Great app but needs work

I’ve used Tully for 4 years since it’s release, I’m a huge Joyner fan and I instantly liked it better than writing on notes.

Over the years the only problems I’ve had is that it messed up the formatting of my songs a few times.
I’ve lost a couple projects that just disappeared.
And sometimes it gets a little glitchy.

But I overlooked them because I love Tully and it’s good at what it does.
But lately it’s so stressful to work here and have gone back to notes because I write and it crashes then I open it again and have to rewrite a couple lines.
No big deal but then it starts happening too much it happens as much as 7 times in a minute till I lose my vibe and have to stop.
I can’t take a minute to write one line it completely locks me out of my groove and that’s detrimental to an artist please fix this.

By the way it’s not just 7 times it’s happened to me
It’s crashed 20+ times and it’s me just trying to finish what’s in my head.
20 crashes for a couple lines is so annoying.

Failure to load

Yeah I started writing I had half a song done and when I clicked done and went back in it deleted everything I just did, I re wrote it and it did it again and I made sure I hit “done” this time around thinking maybe I hit the wrong button. And it started getting more and more glitchy to the point now I can’t even open Tully when my account is on, I deleted Tully re installed it and I can do all the sign in stuff but as soon as I’m signed in Tully closes and I can no longer access my lyrics. I like Tully it’s helpful but some things need to be worked out first but keeping the 5 stars there because I’m a Joyner Fan

Off to a great start

Man I love Tully a lot so far! It does need some tweaks but there’s always room for improvement I’m not seeking a perfect app! I’m having a great time learning to use it. It is pretty simple. I’m excited to see where Tully goes! With all that said I’m experiencing some issues with recording on beat and lagging issues in multi-tracking. My beats and vocals seemed to be slowed down and nearly impossible to get on point unless I try to purposely record off beat which is extremely hard to do. Please fix!! I tried deleting and reinstalling and had no luck :( otherwise this is a masterpiece in the making! Shout out to the big homie Joyner Lucas 💯

Longtime user

So I’ve been using this app for year and some change now and it was really great. A place for all your masterpieces, all your beats, and all your recordings. A place where you can work with all 3 simultaneously or independently. For a long time I didn’t have any complaints and was loving the updates. Then about a week ago I noticed that some new lyrics I was just working on where gone, I was upset but didn’t think anything of more than most likely my mistake and forgot to save them. It didn’t end there two days ago I noticed it happened again but I was also missing two other set of lyrics and a recording, and now today it signed me out and won’t let me sign back in so there goes a year of my work. I’m just going back to using notes on iPhone

I Wish I Could Give a 4.5, It is Amazing, but..

Everything on Tully is amazing, the available rhyming tool, the way the whole app works.. the only problem I have is with the engineer thing. I understand the purpose of it but I don’t understand why it’s a necessity to download your own beats. I’ve tried to download beats I worked hours on in GarageBand on to the this app app but it doesn’t let me because I don’t want to use the engineer function. It should still be there for people who want to use it but it shouldn’t be a necessity

Thank you

I’ve wanted to make music for a long time. Since I was a kid. But I’ve never known anyone that did, I’ve never seen it first hand, and I’ve never believed in myself enough to try. Honestly Tully is life changing for me. I feel like I might finally have a chance to make one of my dreams come true.

Also Tully is legitimately not difficult to use. Even for someone like myself who has absolutely no idea where to even start. It’s incredibly user friendly, and the design and layout really have this creative edge that I feel helps inspire me every time I open it. I really love it so much.

For everyone

I seen a review saying he was so to speak “mislead” into thinking Joyner makes all his songs solely on Tully ... He’s never said that. It always says written and DISTRIBUTED on this app.. it literally does everything you need it to in a compacted app. You can write your songs, record the drafts and save them. Joyner distributes the drafts that he records, through this app, to the producers or whoever it is to mix and master the tracks (Not all in he app). Then they can send the finished product back to Joyner through Tully so he can publish it. It eliminates the need for having a cluster of files everywhere in a usb or multiple devices

Unusual Issue

Ever since I have discovered this app I’ve been using it for every single project I’ve created. Tully would be my number one app to use for all my projects until this issue happened. I was working on a project and all of a sudden Tully shuts down and when I went back in it all of my projects, songs, and audio recordings were all gone. I am really upset that this unusual issue occurred and now I don’t think I can get back those projects I’ve been working on for months. Now I can’t trust Tully for issue that occurred because it can happen again and I don’t want to risk anything anymore, I lost many valuable projects and I am very disappointed at Tully. Please fix this ASAP!

Downloaded the app for a beat maker. Read review.

I think Tully could be a very popular and good app. Currently it’s kind of annoying. One time for da it doesn’t walk you through how to use Tully at all. 2 times for the part where you write your lyrics is wait too small to fit a bar in. What I mean is you have to go to the second line to finish your bar. Three time for da trash free beats, and it’s kind of annoying that you have to make your own beats and export them to Tully if you don’t like the free beats.
Four times for da there’s no beat maker! I downloaded it thinking there was a beat maker but no. You have to download a beat maker then export to Tully . Honestly I can just use the notes app instead of this, because all it’s good for, and it doesn’t do a good job there. Keep grinding Joyner.

Mike Deezy aka Pilliam Shakespeare

Letting you know I downloaded it Tully since it he first internet add atleast a year ago soon as it was released I really like Tully and the comfort in listening and writing my tracks and able to back at the spot I need to repeat at the wavelength not just by second count...details make the difference...God bless🙏🙏🙏 I plan to start using Tully a lot more now that I have a better understanding of the full functionality of it...it’s simple now to give me another way I can see if it’s helps me develop my creative energy and vibes I need to hold on to

Great idea, bad execution

I heard Joyner talk up Tully so I decided to check it out. The idea of how Tully should work is great. However I don’t think the developers did much testing to make sure all of the functions work correctly. For instance, every recording I record is recorded off beat when you play it back. Once the delay/problem is fixed, I think this could be a great app. Not much you can do with it until it’s fixed. Being able to record on time is pretty important in music.

By

Can’t record

I don’t have much of a problem with Tully itself other than the fact that I can’t do the only thing I downloaded it for which is to record a song. I have no problem importing beats, nor getting my lyrics onto Tully the only problem I face is when I try to record. Every time I record then playback what I just recorded the timing is ALWAYS off. I’ve tried hitting the record button before I start the beat, I’ve tried starting the beat before I’ve hit record, and I’ve tried starting the beat and pressing the record button simultaneously but no matter what I do the timing is always off. I’ve already installed and uninstalled Tully multiple times and that didn’t work either. This is very upsetting and it needs to be fix

By

I don’t know

Sometimes the beat wants to play after I press record, sometimes it doesn’t. It didn’t have this problem until I started using my AirPods, but this is a big factor for me, cause I’m just trynna record some songs on the go and send them to my producer for input. Also I don’t know if there is a way to restart the beat once you hit pause, or is it suppose to just restart when you hit play again? I also think you should be able to press record, THEN press the play button for the beat. Importing beats was pretty easy, I just imported them straight from my iCloud, no hassle.

Functional but flawed

this app is a great notes app for artists to write lyrics in.

One of my favorite this app features is that the screen stays on with out you touching it every 30 seconds.

This is very convenient when recording because takes can be ruined if you have to try and unlock your phone during a performance.

I’m not sure of the technology but I do know that this feature drains my battery and makes my phone heat up.

Which is weird cause video players have a similar feature but I think it’s only when playing the video or your phone stays on because it’s triggered an ongoing input.

I think if they tuned this little feature to keep battery health unaffected by its use and built more onto some of the other features, adding a little more organization and customization then this app would be an easy 5.

If this battery problem becomes more popular please don’t ever remove the non shut off function. It isn’t flashy but it’s easily the best part about Tully .

This app is amazing and free

If i had this 10 years ago, it would have given me the courage to actually make something instead freestylin up until this point. It was always too much of a process to making music. People taxin for studio time. All the background s$&t that is so confusing. This right here makes it possible. Watch me blow up fr tho, lets see. Anyone who will be interested, my artist name on there is “Maverick”

When I record it slows my voice down?

When I record it slows my voiced down and it isn’t on beat with the music and it also makes my voice deeper. I will record and the recording starts before the beat drop, and I know I start at the beat drop. I tried working with it for a little while and rapping faster but that didn’t work. But shout out to Joyner for making an app so simple to make songs. It’s like an all in 1! Saves your lyrics, helps you make your lyrics rhyme, and is so simple to use your own beats. I love it. But the only down side is the way it slows your voice down. - Plz fix

Great App

So I’ve only barely used Tully and I do like that it comes with a couple free beats. I love Tully and just wanted to throw in a couple things I think could improve it and really make it a top industry app. Now I know that Tully isn’t necessarily meant to be a source for connecting with other artist but I think it would be great to have the option to search different beats and possibly share projects that are open for collabs. Like I said I’m aware that’s not the purpose of Tully but it would be a great way to help people who are new to the industry. I don’t think in app currency exchange but if there’s a beat you are interested there could be that option to reach out directly to the producer or if there’s an open spot for collab same thing reach out to the artist or who ever made the post 🤷🏻‍♂️

MAKE SURE TO HIT DONE

If you don’t press done after writing then press done again it will erase your text. I really like the idea for Tully , especially on iPhone, running a beat in the background then switching to notepad is a nightmare, this is definitely going to revolutionize the artists process. Early build so a few bugs, like text not saving, but play around with all the features and after you understand Tully it will work great! Tysm Joyner seeing you in Boston was incredible.

Thank you Joyner!!!

Ive been writing for years and have always had trouble making music because i would use multiple devices and sites. I would literally have a device for rhymezone in case i get stuck on a word and a device to write on and a device to record. This is a huge step in advancement for all sorts of music namely hip hop. I appreciate everyone who contributed to making Tully and a special thanks to the man himself, Joyner Lucas🙏🙏🙏

Thanks for making life a bit easier

Sound Problems

I’ve been using this app since Tully dropped and found nothing wrong with Tully until today when I updated Tully . It seems that Tully cannot recognize Bluetooth speakers and my reasoning behind that is that when I connect the speaker to the phone every app works and sound perfect except for this app. If I were to describe the sound I would say that it sounds muffled and kinda low. Please get back to me.

By

Great app, but the update just messed up all my lyrics

Hey I love Tully and I would definitely rate it 5 stars, but the most recent update for some reason deleted all the spaces between each line of my verses so now all my lyrics are all crammed together with no spaces😂😭 I don’t know if there’s a way to fix this without going back and manually entering in every space between each line, but I still love Tully . Also Joyner ur a goat🐐

Very Great App! One question though

I’m an aspiring rapper and I use Tully all the time. The controls are very easy, the fact that I can write, play the beat, and edit my songs, on one screen is incredible and it’s mobile, so anywhere I am, I can make a song or edit it. Just one question though. How do you distribute your music? I know it says when you store your masters but how do you even do that?
