Run Lines With Me Reviews

It says you get up to ten recordings to use as often as you like. What they don’t say is if there are technical glitches likes you can’t hear what you recorded no matter how you adjust it and delete to re-record, you LOSE the free subscription of 10 and it goes to 9 then 8 each time you delete a recording that doesn’t work. Very frustrating. After you use up the ten non working slots it refuses to go until you pay. How can i pay for something that doesn’t even work in free mode?! It appears to record but doesn’t play back! Checked my volume for sound it’s fine. It just doesn’t play back this. It asked me to access my microphone and i clicked accept. This is so frustrating and I am not confident to buy in when it doesn’t work, sorry! Contact is by email and twitter. Wrote to twitter account. Not holding my breath.

Everything in RunLinesWithMe Store info seems to indicate this is a free app. I got halfway into to recording my lines for the show I’m currently in and it prompted me with a message that I only had two more free recordings (I.e., scenes) and then I would have to buy a subscription, which felt deceptive and was enormously frustrating after the work and time I had put into recording my scenes up to that point.

I’m not a pro with a business budget for this kind of thing. I do community theater once or twice a year. There should be a free version supported by ads or something as an option for amateur actors.

I like RunLinesWithMe— I really do. It’s helpful. Today was the first day I used it. I recorded my first recording. It saved the entire thing. Then, I recorded something else.
The second thing was close to 15 minutes, but a little under. When viewing it, it said it was the full time. When you clicked on it though, it had only saved 2 minutes of the full 14:45 that I had recorded.
Okay, I thought. I paused it for a while before continuing. It must be that. I exited RunLinesWithMe , closed it, and re-entered. I recorded the entire thing again, this time totaling to 15 minutes. This time, it only saved 16 seconds. I haven’t tried to do it again. I’m not wasting another 15 minutes of my time recording something that isn’t going to save.
RunLinesWithMe was really helpful with the first recording. It’s amazing, in fact. But unless this bug gets fixed, I’m going to have to give it 1 star and not use it. Really? 16 seconds out of the 15 minutes I recorded? Please fix this bug so I can use RunLinesWithMe again!

I really enjoyed using RunLinesWithMe and making a new recordings for every scene, but when it told me I couldn’t make anymore, I was really ticked off. I get that y’all need a way to make money, but there are different ways to do that than just making people pay. I think I can speak for many fellow actors when I say that many can’t afford that. Especially younger actors. Correct me if I’m wrong, but can’t you just add a few advertisements here and there? Thank you so much for taking the time to read this!

I just downloaded RunLinesWithMe to rehearse my lines for the next school play. It’s super super helpful and really convenient, but I can’t pay for the subscription, and I don’t really want to anyways. But that’s not my biggest issue. I recorded 9 times, realized I should be doing a different process for recording, and deleted all of my recordings, thinking I’d still have the 10 free ones because I deleted all of mine. Instead, RunLinesWithMe said I only had one free recording left, even after deleting all of them. I deleted RunLinesWithMe and redownloaded it to see if it was a glitch but that didn’t work. I don’t know if it is a glitch or just a stupid part of RunLinesWithMe but either ways I feel like I just wasted my time recording all of those lines just for me to not be able to fix it or make up for the lost time. And now I can’t record ANYTHING at all because it says I’ve used all of my free recordings even though I have nothing recorded. Again, awesome app and concept, absolutely hate that you have to pay, especially as someone whose younger and has no way of paying for the subscription.

I love using RunLinesWithMe to get off book- it’s incredibly easy to use and very straightforward. However, there is one major bug. Whenever I try to delete an old recording, RunLinesWithMe crashes, and recording is still there when I re open RunLinesWithMe . I really hope this issue gets fixed soon, it’s the only thing keeping me from giving RunLinesWithMe 5 stars!

I like that it allows you to record your lines with the lines of your cast mates. You can do a prompt, or partial prompt for your lines, but there is no option to read your lines in the space between the other cast members. Need a feature that allows you to not be prompted but can state your lines and the program just mutes your lines to let you say them without a prompt. If you forget you should be able to then click a read line.

It's great! I can practice my lines and decipher them between my own and others while practicing! It's an excellent tool to use! ... Only problem is that I only get about 5 recordings, then boom! I have to pay. An idea for this is that for each recording that you use, you have to watch an ad if you don't want to pay. It really bugs me because I'm a kid with a big part and now I can't use RunLinesWithMe and I think i'm going to delete it.

I couldn’t have an actual 10 recordings! After I messed up and deleted it I thought they didn’t count it but after having only six recordings and I tried to make a new one it asked me to subscribe. I was confused because when it said you have two more recordings left, I messed up and then deleted it and when I tried to make a new one after that, it still said you have two more recordings left so I assumed that when you make a mistake and delete it. It is OK! I didn’t really get it, but it was OK.

I’ve been I’ve been using RunLinesWithMe for over a year now to learn lines from all sorts of different plays and films that I’ve been going for it’s very very helpful and I love it! I actually just discovered the advanced settings and I recommend using those for more control and options. RunLinesWithMe is even cooler than I originally thought!

Using RunLinesWithMe was a life saver as I prepared for my show. From the start, it was helpful to hear the same scene on repeat so that I could keep running lines without interruption. As I got more comfortable with the lines, I was able to use the cue feature. I look forward to using the speed run Thru as I approach opening night and also as a brush up between performance weekends.

This is my favorite for running lines because it offers several options for learning and rehearsing. I love the speed options! I have noticed that it doesn’t always Play Next when that is selected. It would also be nice if there was a button to return to the beginning of a scene rather than having to scroll back when I don’t have Repeat selected.

This is an AMAZING APP! It helps you learn your lines at your own pace! It plays the line before yours and leaves a gap for you to say your line! It is such an amazing app! I also love how you get 10 RECORDINGS FREE before you pay for a subscription. You are probably thinking ‘Ten recordings? That’s barely ten scenes!’ Your wrong. Each recording can be up to 15 MINUTES LONG. If you do the math you can record for 150 minutes before you have to pay anything that’s more than 2 hours! It’s amazing! And if you want to go scene by scene, you can buy a 3 month subscription which is surprisingly cheap! I think it is definitely worth it because I love theater but most of my shows don’t go on for very long so the 3 month option is super exciting! I have used RunLinesWithMe a multitude of times for a number of different projects and it has genuinely helped me learn my lines. I am a person who learns by saying my lines out loud and it can be difficult for me to learn lines when I don’t have someone to practice with. There have been a couple of times when I have been able to rehearse my lines while walking or eating my lunch, and RunLinesWithMe is honestly just incredibly convenient and helpful. 10/10 would recommend.

The UI is so intuitive and easy! This does exactly what I need it to and I love the folders instead of having to organize by scenes. I think the one thing I’d love to see added is having one version at normal speed where it doesn’t say your lines back to you after the break. Just so I know I can through it that way before doing double time.

Thanks for making this! It’s definitely the best and easiest one I’ve found on RunLinesWithMe Store and I can finally stop begging my developer husband to make one I like. (He too appreciates your work.)

I was panicked trying to memorize lines as Oscar in the Odd Couple when I downloaded Run Lines. On my way to rehearsal I listened to a scene with the pause and like repeat mode enabled and was able to be off book when we went through it. It was time consuming to record the lines but that was beneficial in its own way. I cannot recommend RunLinesWithMe enough for busy actors who need to find little pockets of time to go through their dialogue. Worth every penny for more recording storage.

This is complete silliness. I like RunLinesWithMe , but I’m pai once and do not intend to pay again. My IPhone is about out of battery … I need to rehearse lines on my IPad but tried to log in and am only given options for a subscription. Sorry, Charlie. You’re not getting more out of this turnip.

PS I was able to figure out how to transfer the subscription to another device. Thank you for the quick response. I still think it should be made clearer, but RunLinesWithMe is very, very good.

I’m almost 60 and have a supporting roll in a show I’ve never done before. I’ve been able to record and rehearse all my scenes in order. It’s simple to use and well thought out. I should be off book a week before the required dead line.

There are two things I would like to see improved. You are unable to reorder the recordings and sometimes if your line is at the end of a section and you have that recording on repeat mode it skips it and goes back to the beginning again. However with a subscription rate as affordable as this has the value more than makes up for these issues. I’ll definitely be using this again and again!

I use RunLinesWithMe every week as a professional actor, and it’s fantastic. My only request is that there would be a feature to run lines at normal speed without my line being repeated back. E.g. how you would normally read lines with someone after they were memorized. It’s the same as “speed through with gaps” but at a regular pace. This way I could use RunLinesWithMe to learn my lines and then to practice the scene as I would do it in a performance on camera. Any chance of having this added soon? Would highly recommended this tool to anyone who has to quickly learn their lines! Pro tip get someone else to do the recording with you so that you can be used to hearing someone else’s voice, and you only need to bother them once!

I don’t usually write reviews for apps, but I just felt I needed to express how much I love this one. I’ve been doing theatre for 12 years and honestly RunLinesWithMe is a game changer for learning lines. What makes it so great is that it’s like having someone to learn your lines with except you can do it all on your own. I really love how simple and easy it is to use. I’ve been looking at apps for awhile and this one seems to be the best so far.
