So, it works, most of the time. It will play back footage saved as well, albeit not very nicely. But, two HUGE issues that makes this useless:
1. When trying to save/playback videos, it displays them in 1 hour increments, which is annoying. But when you try to save them at all, it shows “file too large, use device to download”. WHATS THE POINT OF A DOWNLOAD OPTION THEN? There’s no settings to change the file length in-app either. So saving is useless for videos.
2. After a few weeks at best, you get an “invalid token, please sign in again” message, and have to sign out and back in again. This issue has existed for a LOOOOOOOOONG time, like over a year at least.
The sad bit is, the devs either can’t or have no real interest in improving NightOwlConnect much, as the last update was over a year ago. You get what you pay for I guess. It’s my parents camera system, but I will certainly be using a different brand at my place unless this improves. It’s sad, really. It could be so good, but it just isn’t.
