NOAA Marine Forecast & Weather Reviews

NOAAMarineForecastWeather has become my first choice when planning fishing trips. The weather and sea condition forecasts are generally very accurate, and the tide predictions are very helpful too. I do wish there was a little more info on the tide predictions though, perhaps a little more granularity so it’s easier to see tide changes at half hour intervals.

I really enjoy NOAAMarineForecastWeather! I always used NOAA weather as a captain in the Merchant Marine. Unfortunately I don’t go to sea anymore but still keep an eye on local weather and the tides for my sons fishing endeavors! I am really impressed with the ease of using this product. As far as I’m concerned NOAA always has the most accurate weather forecasts. Thank You for sharing NOAAMarineForecastWeather

Love NOAAMarineForecastWeather. Very easy to use once you know how it works. Choice of point forecast vs zone forecast is very useful. Attached tide chart is a big plus. What you need all in one app. Only thing I would like to see is a weather radar ability. Then it would be my only app.

Really surprised me since NOAAMarineForecastWeather is very intuitive and easy to use as well the pleasant graphic layout complete the positive impression. I’m very happy to have discovered it. Down in the Florida Keys it’s an essential application for boaters and local living people

Very simple to operate. I run a 21-foot Whaler offshore and NOAAMarineForecastWeather is much more fun and user-friendly than the clunky NOAA site where it draws its data from.
Has it’s only limitation in that the NOAA site goes into hibernation every so often and NOAAMarineForecastWeather then tells you that it’s loading data as it endlessly cycles. P

The best marine forecasting app I’ve seen. The NOAA forecast on Weather Underground for example, is limited to 2 days, and you have to go through a laborious process to pick a location. This one is point and shoot.... and after a couple of months using it, I’d say it’s highly accurate.

The NWS forecast info is presented well. And this is the first app I have seen to clarify the difference between a spot forecast and a forecast zone.

And I like that chance of rain or T-storm is imbedded.

Because I get to see wind, wave and rain forecast quickly and easily, it has become my most used marine forecast app.

Unfortunately, the forecast zones are shaded over the maps, obscuring the lines between the offshore (20nm) zones and making it harder to find onshore landmarks. Seems like this could be easily fixed?

It seems a little crude to click on a location and then have NOAAMarineForecastWeather pick the closest tide buoy. Why not show all tide buoys and let the user select one? Also why can’t you save favorite locations? The biggest problem I have with NOAAMarineForecastWeather is that it doesn’t seem to include all tide buoys. There are several that are missing in the area that I sail in.

Always check this out beforehand and it so much better than listening to NOAA Weather Radio and filter out the 100 satations you don’t need. For a recreational boater like me it is great.

By far the easiest way I have found to access all the information from NOAA using a simple graphic interface. I travel constantly and getting marine forecasts other ways has been awkward til now.

Really miss the old Marine Weather app that gave NOAA zone forecasts. The graphics were better as the zone boundaries were easier to see at all zoom ranges. NOAAMarineForecastWeather defaults to a point forecast which I don’t really use. When trying to plan a passage up the coast NOAAMarineForecastWeather gets positively annoying.

I just bought NOAAMarineForecastWeather because I needed to know the marine Forecast off Charleston, South Carolina. It was unable to give me any information at all on the forecast. I checked the next zone north of Charleston and NOAAMarineForecastWeather couldn’t give me any information there either. It did not appear to be a problem with NOAA, but with NOAAMarineForecastWeather itself. I didn’t like giving NOAAMarineForecastWeather even one star because I see it as worthless, but the only way to rate it is to give it at least one star.

Great info that you can get quickly. The graphics also help you make sure you are getting data for the intended area.

I live in Southeast Alaska and fish offshore a lot with my 15’ whaler and reference NOAAMarineForecastWeather 1st before planning my trips. Pretty accurate for the ever changing weather around here. I’d recommend it. I use this and the windy

Always accurate and dependable for conditions. Only wish they broke it down more than twice a day.

NOAAMarineForecastWeather is beautiful and makes it easy to find marine information for the closest point to where I am boating and to jump back out to the zone forecast to see what’s happening offshore. Perfect for Southeast Alaska.

Living on a boat and traveling the ICW it allows us to plan ahead and almost look around the corner to avoid unwanted surprises room for improvements? yes, but a great format and easy to read.

NOAAMarineForecastWeather has very complete wave , swell and wind predictions which are necessary to plan boat trips and diving days
It’s easy to set up so that with one click I get the info I need. So far the accuracy has been great
Picking the area that you want to check is easy.
I normally use the noaa site but this one has the info with faster accessibility.
Totally recommend it.

This is by far my favorite and most accurate weather app. Have used it while boating up and down the ICW for a year now. Spot on.

Does not always show wave height info for every location which is important for smaller craft. Otherwise it’s spot on I always check this before going out.

This needs some updates as the interface is very sensitive if you accidentally touch a point when you meant to move the map. Wish it had favorites. And if alerts are given it doesn’t tell you how long they are in affect for.

The ap doesn’t list all the places that National Weather Service lists.
For example I was searching for Piconic and Gardiners bay and only could get Montauk or Riverhead, the weather in those areas can be quite different so accuracy is important to me when making decisions.
I guess if one needs a general idea of the weather it’s ok but not if your relying on accuracy.

There was no clarification in the description that this was just the cheaper, less utilitarian version of the other NOAA apps. Spend a couple bucks more and get many more features, instead of buying a bunch of apps for a few dollars. I bought the better one and now I’ll be deleting this.

Just a lousy local chart with low definition an one far away buoy giving you basic tide information
Zero wind maps with arrows as it should have even if designed by a 2 year old
And you call this “ Marine “
I am a sailor and there is zero added value in NOAAMarineForecastWeather and nothing that anyone can’t find on any weather app
Be serious put a wind direction map with arrows and wind speeds
