App developers read your emails false sense of being Anonymous

2022-05-21

MySudo developers read your emails. It’s not Anonymous as they claim this is false advertising. They give you three free accounts to make emails with. Which they claim are Anonymous and they read your emails. It’s not worth the money to pay these people. Do you link your device ID number to the emailsAnd phone numbers. You’re also subject to their opinion of you. Also MySudo does not make you anonymous does not make you private or secure. They use ways to entrap users with this false marketing ploy. They want a explanation of the use of their services. I need blackmail you with not restoring services after they block you off. These people are basically entrapping users.

Fake privacy

2022-06-22

MySudo purports to take back your privacy by offering you the ability to pay for burner accounts essentially. The problem is, you can’t use it if you also use a VPN which really offers true privacy. Instead when you go to click on “create my first sudo” an error message pops up claiming they are having a hard time registering your device. Ironic for a company that claims to offer privacy yet they want to force you to expose your true IP address in order to attain their fake privacy app. Uninstalled. Go with anything else like TextMe for phone numbers/texting or ProtonMail for legit encrypted free email. MySudo is a joke and unless all features are encrypted anyway, none of it is really private. EDIT TO REPLY TO DEV RESPONSE. My VPN is in the US and you have ALL their servers blocked. The fact that your asking me to turn off my VPN to register with you is ridiculous. Obviously these devs don’t grasp the concept of what real privacy is. They tout not asking for your info but basically force you to disconnect from a VPN which is giving them your info and location in order to register. Dumb dumb dumb.

Unreliable and a pain to use

2022-07-23

You have to put in your passcode or Touch ID just to use MySudo , with no option to skip that step. Plus it takes FOREVER to just get to the Touch ID screen. I don’t have my 3 Sudo numbers memorized so whenever I want to give them one of the numbers reserved for businesses, we have to stand around awkwardly while MySudo takes its time opening.

I have also noticed a lot of SMS messages just happen to come through at the exact moment that I open MySudo . It’s happened enough for me to not trust that messages are not being delivered like they should. I have just gone back to using the number attached to my SIM if it’s a person or business who’s messages I can’t afford to miss. I regret buying the year of Sudo at the half off intro rate and giving everyone I know my Sudo numbers that will have to be switched when the year runs out. I definitely won’t be renewing.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

2022-08-24

I signed up for their “Pro” plan to use the virtual card feature. The multiple numbers and emails works fine, but the main purchase for paying the “Pro” version was for the virtual cards. After attempting to verify my information, I was created with a “Contact Support” message that send the support team diagnostic for troubleshooting. Instead of helping solve the issue, they respond with “Our Compliance Team is unwilling to unlock your cards”. This is not the first review claiming their support never works to solve registration or locked account issues. If you pay for their service, it’s a ticking time-bomb before your account will be locked and you will lose out on the money you pay this company. If you are considering MySudo, ensure you sort by MOST RECENT and not fall for the 5 star comments like I did. Will not recommend to anyone

Absolute garbage.

2022-09-25

I don’t understand how you can unashamedly monetize this product. It is without a doubt one of the worst apps I’ve ever used. First of all, MySudo constantly freezes and stutters, it can’t even function properly. Also, using it to verify your accounts for different services is worthless when it doesn’t even work. Emails will load 1/8 of the way, and sms messages straight up don’t work. Why would anyone in their right minds pay for this complete garbage? It’s a scam that this actually costs money, and even worse, people are actually buying it. I’ll be reporting MySudo, and making sure it gets taken down for false advertising. It’s not even a finished app, it’s as if a 12 year old developed it for a side project. It is completely, and utterly worthless.

Issues with app

2022-10-26

Overall I am happy with this app. Where they fall short is customer service and their virtual card option. I’m having difficulties with my credit card not syncing with the virtual card. This is causing online autopay charges to fail. I’ve tried reaching out several times and have a week long thread of emails back and forth with no resolution. I’ll be giving these folks another day or so to correct the issues. If not I’ll be offloading MySudo.

Update: Reduction from 3 stars to one star. After dealing with horrendously slow and unhelpful customer service for about a week I was finally able to identify the issues. It appears that many businesses do not recognize the virtual card as a valid credit method of payment. This kind of defeats the purpose. I’ve had to revert to using my actual credit card for many online purchases and recurring billing.

Update #3 I will be cancelling this app. Now my phone will not send or receive calls through this app. I tried to use the help function to contact customer support but that’s not working either.
MySudo is a disaster.

Pro version is a waste of money

2022-11-27

-Sudo Pro has 300 texts, but due to the character limit, most texts will cost you 2-3, thus making it pointless to pay for the pro version.
- App does not load messages properly when received, often requiring MySudo to be refreshed multiple times.
- App NEVER shows the contacts name during phone calls, only the calling number. Have had numerous email exchanges with support and problem still exists.
- App does not work outside the United States even when using a VPN.
- Free messaging apps like signal, wickr, wire and WhatsApp are all better options than the paid version of this app.

Pricey, and numbers are hit or miss.

2022-12-28

The concept is really great. One major beef I have with MySudo is the pricing. The $15/mo plan is the only one that had unlimited calls and texts, which seems quite high to me.

Last I checked Burner is cheaper with the same capabilities. So if what you’re after is the phone capability, I’d go with something else until prices are lowered.

That brings me to my next point: Because companies have caught on to many of these services, they can detect VoIP numbers like the ones this app uses.

This means that for most online services, you’ll still have to give away your personal phone number since they don’t allow numbers from this app.

That basically eliminates 2/3 features of the service (text/call/email). Email is the easiest to generate a fake for, so this ends up making this app almost worthless.

For its current price points I would expect something more than its current offering given these limitations.

“Can someone trace my MySudo email and find my original IP Address?”

2023-01-29

Unlike some commercial privacy minded email messaging systems, if you receive an email message containing HTML elements such as non-visible images used to attempt to track or identify your device’s ip address, Sudo will allow your device’s IP address to be provided to that third party immediately upon the opening of such email.

Instead of blocking such images by default or setting our system up so that the tracking requested is initiated by our servers rather than your device, we’ve chosen to do nothing to help you defeat such tracking but encourage you to figure out how to do it yourself , or better yet,!ideally finding another service that is 100 percent committed to providing the best integrated email privacy product for your needs.

Never lived up to its potential

2023-03-02

Giving >1 start because the idea is good, but MySudo / service has never proven useful to me over the last year, despite multiple attempts to use it.

- SMS messages are either delivered 1 day late or not at all
- If you are synched across multiple devices, a phone call seems to confuse all involved, leading to a call that effectively rings 1.5 times which most of the time cannot be answered
- When signing up for the 3 phone numbers service, an impression is given that you are limited to a max of any 3 phone numbers at one time, but you're actually limited to the first 3 phone numbers you create, then if you delete one of those numbers and want to replace it, the new number costs £0.99 / $0.99.
- The proxy credit card feature only works for U.S. cards

I've tried to use this for its intended use for about a year, in the U.S. and U.K., and I've always fared better using a combination of other services instead (e.g. a Skype phone number + Twilio SMS).

I'll be back if it can be made to work as advertised.

Used to love, now mediocre, use for burners only

2023-03-31

I was an early adopter and absolutely loved this brilliant service. I would gladly have paid the premium (and still might, if they get their stuff together). So this review is not about going paid vs free. I’ve watched many services struggle to make this transition, and it appears Sudo is no different.

First, the old app was much easier to use. I don’t understand some of the interface decisions that were made with the newer version. It’s less intuitive and at times downright confusing. Guys, jump in your Delorean and go back in time.

Second, I can’t recommend that you use this service for any Sudos that you may need to keep for business or other fairly important purposes over time. Expect that you will lose access at some point when you transition between devices or apps (should they decide to start another app, again). The backup and transition have been absolutely painful, and in their rush to monetize in a new app, they are frustrating longtime users.

Instead, use MySudo as it stands today for compartmenting all the non-essential stuff. Throwaway accounts. That’s what it excels at. If you lose info, no harm, no foul. Five stars for the core idea. Three for execution. One for data migration/backup. Here’s hoping for something better down the road.

Changing my review

2023-05-02

I originally gave MySudo and paid subscription 1 star because I couldn’t use the this app phone numbers or email addresses for a couple sites/services I wanted to use them on, but over the past month I’ve been able to use the phone numbers and email addresses on some other sites/services that I didn’t think would work but surprisingly they did, so I no longer think MySudo and paid subscription were a complete waste of money. I’d recommend MySudo and paid subscription, but just know the phone numbers and email addresses might not work on every single site/service you want to sign up for. In that case I’d just email their support here and hopefully they can sort something out in future updates.

Wondering why my last honest review was removed?

2023-06-02

App seemed great until callers go straight to vmail. Or settings changes would revert or not apply. - Update, Apple refunded me and developer was at least willing to troubleshoot the problems, but I had uninstalled MySudo and moved on because it wasn’t reliable for me, but it might be, ISP, me, or a bad week. who really knows what caused my issues. It’s a great idea hopefully the other positive reviews will offset my less than optimal experience.

No group messaging

2023-07-04

My Sudo has been great! There is a large amount of utility in having multiple numbers and email addresses, and the browser is helpful as well.

The reason for a 4 star rating is that group messaging non-sudo numbers is not offered, but is a very basic component of messaging. Not having group messaging is severely limiting. If someone messages you within a group message and even one person isn’t a My Sudo user, you will NOT receive the message. I am also not going to try and convince hundreds of contacts to use My Sudo, though I have recommended it to my privacy conscious friends.

Please add group messaging for non-Sudo numbers!!!

Numerous profiles not working

2023-08-04

I have been using MySudo for a year now, very supportive of privacy companies so I pay for the max version even though I only use 3 numbers and not 9. I want this service to continue. With that being said 2 of my number just don’t work anymore, people also using the sudo app text me, Call me and nothing shows up to those profiles. I send texts from my actual phone number to test it and they never come through. I get a notification of something but no actual text or call. I desperately need those 2 numbers for 2 factor authentication and they won’t receive texts. If this issue isn’t fixed asap I am going to find a service that seems to work a bit more as expected.

*update- customer service addressed and helped me fix the issue so changing my rating, great customer service.

Great Privacy App with Clunky Functionality

2023-09-05

I love using MySudo for shopping, selling or any time I don’t want to hand out my personal details. However, with the latest “improvements” I can’t seem to mark email as read or delete emails. They don’t stay marked as read or deleted. Please fix. It’s so annoying not being able to see what my actual notifications are because I can’t update what I’ve seen. It’s so annoying that I may just remove MySudo , but I’m going to wait a bit longer until the next update to see if it improves as I absolutely use it to evade online marketing.

Overall, MySudo has a nice design and in practice it seems to work well with most services. However, apps like Facebook, Instagram and a few others won’t accept the this app phone numbers. I don’t care about those services not being compatible with this app since those services infringe on privacy by just having them installed on a device. I’m not sure if there is a desktop version or web app available. I wish I could access this app email from a laptop or desktop machine when not near my phone.

Excellent remark

2023-10-07

MySudo has been working excellent I love it's features and it's very easy to use. I've been utilising MySudo both in texting and calling and so far there has been no issues whatsoever either disabled number or otherwise.
I hope the designer of MySudo continues to improve on the community and makes it look more easier and faster to utilise.

Finally! A great phone app!

2023-11-07

I’ve been hacked over two years, and they kept breaking into my WiFi, and apps, controlling who I call, intercept all messages, hang up on calls, read my emails, take over my accounts, hacked my home. Vehicles, and tons more! I moved away from there over the week end, and starting to feel human again... Beginning with MySudo! If only I would have found this a long time ago... Encryption is HUGE! This is the BEST I’ve come across in a long time! Calls go through immediately, clear reception, texts come through, NO COMPLAINTS HERE! Thank you for helping me get back my life! I appreciate you!

Control your digital identity

2023-12-09

The concept of separating your real identity from digital ones (sudos) might be new to many people, but this is one of the best ways to protect yourself online. this app does a great job helping you to easily keep track of different profiles for yourself, with phone, email and virtual cards all in one place.

If you don’t want to give up your real info to a new service (and let’s be honest, you shouldn’t) having this app provide it for you is super convenient.

Although the messaging is fine too, I’d recommend Signal for that. If you want even better control over email try SimpleLogin to become basically un-spammable. (Both are free) The only catch to this app is that it costs to use it to its full potential, but of course it costs and it’s great that there’s no ads or shady data business going on in the background.

Amazing!!!

2024-01-09

I'm not exactly sure how MySudo works but it is incredible! I was on the phone with my wife and I told her I would call her right back because the service was so terrible (I have Sprint). When I used MySudo to call her back I could hear her clear as crystal.

I’m literally contemplating cancelling my service and just paying for premium with MySudo. I would like to see their privacy policies and make sure they’re not eavesdropping on my calls first before I commit. Hard to trust anyone these days.

Five ⭐️’s for sure

Worth the money, as is

2024-11-17

I finally upped my subscription from Go to Pro to get more minutes. I’m also using the web browser more to get some of the benefits of Firefox’s containers in a mobile browser. Despite some imperfections (the biggest is that lots of corporate text messages come from short numbers that don’t play well with this app), MySudo is great and the subscriptions are fairly priced and worth it. After over a year of use, I can heartily recommend this app.

Very Impressed

2024-11-17

At a time where people willingly give up their privacy for mere convenience (often without even realizing it), MySudo is a huge breath of fresh air. I do a lot of online purchasing and local selling and it gives me peace of mind to know that I'll never have to give out my personal information to companies or people that may use it for shady purposes. This is a must have app for this day and age. Worth every penny.

Just got the app

2024-11-17

I think this is actually a good app but I’m still yet to decide if it’s better than other ones I’ve made use from recent times. I give them five(5) star rate though because I’ve only used it to open up WhatsApp I’m glad the I can now do my business with a new number which can’t be traced ..nice 👍🏼

I was excited to purchase Mysudo and spent a few hours updating my key financial accounts and critical subscriptions to different sudo email and phone numbers. Here is where the issues start! First, and foremost, the application receipt of text generated by a NUMBER of credit card issuers I.e. American Express does not use a phone number to text their customer back for confirmations. The companies use 5-9 digit numbers that appear to come from a computers. Well, MySudo, DOES NOT accept these numbers as text and therefore you will NOT BE ABLE TO VERIFY YOU ACCOUNT CHANGES WITH SOME OF YOUR FINANCIAL COMPANIES! To top it off, when I contacted MySudo, the attitude of the Customer service representative was the worst I had experienced stating the issue I pointed out is not a defect and is a one off issue by my as a subscriber and cannot be changed! I wanted to tell the CSR to F off! What awful and pathetic attitude for a company to take after just spending $100 with them! I still have the service since the effort to change all my information was exhausting, however if additional issues persist I will just cancel it and eat the cost because it’s not worth dealing with their customer service! Hope this helps someone and I hope my pseudo Customer Service reads this!
