Terrible switch

Teachers are having problems with glitches and difficulty adding in comments and photos compared to the previous system we used. TeachingStrategiesFamily is flooded with pics and vids of other messages and basically junk. I’d they want to post it for the few parents who want enrichment ideas then make it a separate tab that doesn’t block the space I want to use to see and read about my kid during the day. The audio for videos doesn’t work in TeachingStrategiesFamily . I can only play it through the video on my email. I can’t easily download videos. I have to go through the emails instead. I can’t comment on specific pics or vids. I don’t get notifications for when a teacher or director messages me back. My settings are set to allow all notifications. The end of day report has a daily schedule listed with a morning activity recommendation, how is that useful if I get it at night time? I’ve only been using TeachingStrategiesFamily for a month and dreading the change due to the poor reviews. The school must have gotten a sweet money deal to make the decision to switch over from a highly rated app to this sad one. Shameful

Zero stars

If I could give TeachingStrategiesFamily no stars I would. We use it only because the school chose it so there’s no other option. For starters, why is the home page cluttered like a social media app? Why is it suggesting games, videos, and giving me parenting tips? I don’t care. Then, why is there a whole library of low quality e books that you can barely see (if they even open)? Come on dev team, get real. Nobody is using those. Then, why is every daily report, photo, and school memo all lumped into one “memories” section only sorted by chronological order? I mean good grief at the very least separate out the useful information. The reports are the only reason any parent uses an app like this but to find them you have to comb through all the nonsense. I don’t even bother with TeachingStrategiesFamily unless I have to send a message to the teachers, otherwise the reports get emailed to me and I just see them there.

Terrible

Awful app. I have to constantly delete TeachingStrategiesFamily and redownload to see what the teacher has sent. It will work for maybe a week then it won’t update anymore with the teachers comments or anything they send out. Very frustrating as a parent to make sure I’m keeping up what’s going on in the classroom.

Terrible app for viewing updates

We get alerts to view our son’s activities at school on TeachingStrategiesFamily and nothing appears on TeachingStrategiesFamily . This happens over and over and over again. It is super frustrating and very difficult to find the logins to the correct portal on web, which we have to use, because TeachingStrategiesFamily is so terrible.

Horrible

I’m new to TeachingStrategiesFamily and i can’t sign in it’s saying my child isn’t registered but then i can sign in on the website, i don’t have time to use the website to check and see if any updates has been made with my child’s school, this is really not user friendly. I wouldn’t give any stars if that was an option

Poor design, can’t log in

I set up my account using my email address and created a password. Then try to login. I input my email address and then it removes the password field and replaces it with a button to sign in through Google. I do not want to link my Google account to TeachingStrategiesFamily. I already set it up with a password. Terrible design.

Goodbye to all pics and communication

The worst company and app ever, no wonder our school is moving to another platform. They show low res images and there is no option to download everything!!!!!! You have to go in one by one to download images and forget about what teachers wrote about your child. Tell the school to avoid this company at all cost!

Cannot properly log in

I used my Apple ID to log in and it defaulted to hiding my email. Because of that, TeachingStrategiesFamily can’t recognize which child is mine and it is useless. I don’t know how to reset that choice and I can’t seem to log in easily with google or just email password combo either. Too frustrating. I give up after multiple tries

Doesn’t work

I get emails often about new notes or things regarding my child but when I click to open, not one new thing has popped up since the beginning of the year. It never has shown me what the notification is actually for. It just opens TeachingStrategiesFamily and doesn’t take me anywhere. Then there is nothing new to see when I scroll.

Doesn’t work..

I’m not able to pull up anything in TeachingStrategiesFamily . Can’t even log in. I have an iPhone 11 so I’m not sure if that has anything to do with it but I can only log in from the website on my computer.. it definitely takes the convenience out for me..

Was great at first

Was great when first downloaded it in August. But since the last update I now can not see any of the messages my sons teacher sends. I will get the notification that have new message but can not view in TeachingStrategiesFamily . My husband also is having the same issue on his iPhone as well. Hopefully this issue is fixed soon so I can communicate with his teacher this is very important since we are all online right now.

Worst Ever, and Parents have no choice

I thought Procare was bad but TeachingStrategiesFamily is next level bad. It’s missing simple functionality like real time activity logs and it doesn’t have a timestamp in app for when you drop off/pick up your child, messages are user. These are some really basic features that are critical to parents wanting to check in on their kids throughout the day.

Can’t send messages

I everything was working fine until about a month ago when I was not allowed to message the teachers it would say 100% but would not send anything so when I would try to let teachers know my kids would be late they never got the message I told the teachers but the daycare said they need to use TeachingStrategiesFamily but what’s they point if I can’t get ahold of my kids teachers I’ve tried every uninstalling and reinstalling I’ve check for updates but it still does not work

So bummed…

We are stuck with TeachingStrategiesFamily because my child’s preschool uses this to share pictures, videos and messages.
The pictures and videos are a pain to view in TeachingStrategiesFamily (cannot zoom properly) and extremely painful and require multiple attempts to be able to download!
Cannot hear anything in the videos in TeachingStrategiesFamily - though you can hear them if you are able to download on your local phone.
Since we cannot hear anything in the videos in TeachingStrategiesFamily , the videos that has other kids are useless because we cannot download it due to “security” features!
I think most undergrad software students can build better apps today!

SO bad.

TeachingStrategiesFamily is so sooo bad. I was encouraged to download TeachingStrategiesFamily by my child’s teachers at daycare. I periodically get notifications that things have been uploaded by his teachers, but I can’t find them anywhere. I get error messages when I try to click on the 2 videos that have been there since I downloaded it or try to change any of my settings. It is perpetually stuck on November 2022 and won’t let me change the date. In addition to the notifications, I have gotten emails that the teachers have uploaded particular things and I can’t find any of it. I’m not sure why I even keep this on my phone. I don’t doubt the daycare paid some sort of money to this company and I regret that for them. I wouldn’t recommend TeachingStrategiesFamily to anyone.

Can I give 0??

TeachingStrategiesFamily is horrible. I’m stuck with it because the daycare has it but I can’t even message the teachers in the infant room - they actually said they either are not allowed or can’t!! What is the point??
Other than the other glitches mentioned in other reviews, I have an infant and I want to see what is happening throughout the day. But I can’t get a report until the day is over and I pick him up, only to find out he didn’t eat lunch and is hungry. Or I go to pick him up and he’s asleep!!! The daycare used to have a sensible app that updated throughout the day… so you can see if he’s awake, has eaten, been changed etc. For a toddler I wouldn’t mind so much but for a baby, I need to know. I wish they would switch back to the other app.

Disappointing

As a teacher, I’m extremely disappointed that I can’t use TeachingStrategiesFamily as well. I have to be logged in to the website to see or send messages. I don’t have time during the school day to keep logging into the website, so I miss messages from my parents. I would much rather have push messages sent to my phone through an app so I could quickly check them. If I want to send pictures to my parents, I have to take the picture, mail it to myself, download it to the computer, then upload it to the site. And I can only send one picture per message. It’s far too time consuming. I would also like a stream where I can see a list of messages sent to the whole class. It’s too time consuming to check each child’s list individually. If my district didn’t make me use TeachingStrategiesFamily, I would be using ClassDojo. It’s so much more user friendly.

Not great

TeachingStrategiesFamily, at first, was great and easy to use. Now it keeps telling I have notifications when I don’t even though the teacher has been sending me messages/photos that I’m not receiving. So if they’re important good luck because you won’t be getting all of them

No time clock

Would be helpful if it displayed when child is clocked in and out on the daily report. It posts it the day of but no other place to keep track. Most daycares charge if you’re over hours or miss clocking your child in/out.

Quedtions!?

Hello, I would like to know if the conversations I have with the teacher are private on this platform or if other parents can see what is being discussed.
