Divoom: Pixel art community Reviews

I recently got myself a ditoo and it does everything and more than what I would ever want for it. It has been great. However, I’ve had some problems along using Divoom for it so I wanted to provide feedback on that as well as some suggestions for Divoom !

- I haven’t been able to use the planner feature as every time I try to add more than two different times I get a “Time Setting Failed” message no matter what I do.

- I really enjoy the notifications feature, however it would be great if we could add notifications for other apps and we could create our own notifications banners!

- Speaking of notifications. It may or not may not be user error, but only a few of them work (like WhatsApp or Instagram) when others don’t (twitter or Snapchat)

- It would be great to see a feature to turn videos into animations much like how we can use pictures to do so.

- When playing regular audio in music or videos the speaker sounds great. However, when I receive a call the sound quality dramatically drops for both me and the person I’m speaking too. The same happens for the voice memo feature as the recorder audio sounds bad.

I really enjoy Divoom and I’m excited to see what comes in the future!

Divoom is really fun and I love seeing the creativity the community has made through pixel art and animations. My only complaint is that there’s no way to synchronize both the clock and channel mode together. As much as I enjoy seeing animations from the cloud, I would much rather have all the custom channel variants displayed with the weather and clock. Also, I would love for there to be a fix for the 16x64 mode because every time I use the photo converter, I crop it in place but it ends up zooming in after hitting submit. Also, the weather app isn’t very accurate. I’ve used exact location through tracking and by county, but it’s always off by a few degrees. Other than that, Divoom is very enjoyable to use.

I have the pixoo it’s great. Sorta. I love everything thing about it. But nothing is explained about the 32x32 or 64x64 that can be unlocked. They won’t load on a pixoo or any other device I have from the company.

Other than that. I love it. I have so many people ask me questions about it. You can upload your own pictures. Edit other pictures. (I think there should be a way to credit the original artist) worth the money to get the pixoo or any of the 16x16 or larger products if they ever make one. Would and will buy again.

Positives:
Divoom is loaded with lots of features! The vast library of pixel art is just amazing. The wide variety of options and customization is great.

Wishlist for the developers:
- It would be great if you can create folders/groups of your favorite pixel art. (For Halloween, you could play specific Halloween gifs. For a birthday party, you can play your favorite birthday gifs...)

- Sort by pixel art with sound.

- The main reason for my display is to randomize pixel art so that you are always seeing new art. The “hot” channel is great but plays the same ones from the beginning every time it’s turned on. Being able to randomize the art would be great!

- The sound quality for the sleep/alarm sound effects seems pretty low quality. I have the Tivoo Max and having that poor sound quality on such amazing speakers just doesn’t showcase it well. A good selection of effects though!

I absolutely LOVE the this app app and their speakers. Sure Divoom is alittle buggy, but I think that it is the best way to use your speaker. I have a Timebox Mini and and am loving the sound quality and the picture. I have one problem, my speaker sometimes malfunctions to where it turns off the pixel display. Please fix this in the future. Otherwise, Great service!

The this app Bluetooth, visually stimulating and stylish speaker with FM Radio functionality is awesome!!! The this app Smart app is the latest app that is being used to operate the speaker with its multi function bit lighting system. It’s better than the first app that was used. However, this latest update seems to have eliminated the FM Radio😱 Why on earth would someone remove the radio function. Maybe I’m mistaken, but the radio icon is removed which leads me to believe that it was deleted from the new app menus. Divoom was moving into the four star / 5 star zone in its trajectory, but now without the FM Radio....I’m shocked! Three stars until I see what’s going on😕

Yes. You read it. Divoom is a worst ever app I’ve seen. Even for obscure ’made in China’ gadgets. The device is OK quality, and actually looked promising but… Divoom is just worst of its kind. I don’t even understand how it’s managed to get through App Store quality assurance review.

For a start… Divoom forces you to create an account and just pours a low quality content on you. Welcome to Facebook on acid. It is really hard to understand what connection if any it has with the device. Is it really connecting? Is it using my data to send everything I ever said around it to Chinese servers? You never know. Maybe, likely? Device definitely records everything you ever said… so I dunno.

Now the pixel editor. This is… something that looks to be working, but… Microsoft Paint did a better job 25 years ago. And I mean it. It was more predictable in terms of, when it gonna crush or just won’t work as expected.

P.s. still haven’t figured how to upload anything to the device. Good luck.

I love Divoom a lot and the functionality is amazing, but we need the ability to make palettes using exact color hex codes, in order to use palettes generated from apps like Coolers! If this gets added I will bring this up to five stars!

Alternatively, a “get palette from picture” function would be good. If we could upload a photo and extract the colors from that it could be good for making art on the fly.

I got it downloaded 1 year ago, the new set up that they have don’t offer it for mine. My app is still the same as 1 year ago. For a long time it wouldn’t even connect to the audio. Or the light wouldn’t connect but the sound would. I don’t have all the new features like other people have such as pixel art, or dj mixer. I even un-installed it and re- installed, it still did not do the up date.

Would be nice to have a turn off function in Divoom like when to set the time when it turns on and turns off when it’s on usb power! And even more data control for possible for weather apps that even you can change! Also would be killer to have a connection to the Mac though a app on there as well Mac store!

Looks cute and when it’s working it is a fun little clock/speaker/display.

However it frequently disconnects from the Bluetooth and can sometimes take days to ‘find’ it again. Also would be nice if the weather settings could be manually adjusted to your area because it is inaccurate a lot (will show rain on a clear day, clouds on a clear day etc), and if they could be changed from Celsius to Farenheight. Until improvements are made there are better items out there in the same price range.

I am really satisfied with the timebox but Divoom is just crap, its really buggy it doesn’t work properly and crashes lot. Also is kinda disappointing that it can only be use with one phone at a time you can’t connect you friends devices so they can display designs. I was also trying to control the display from my iPad and then from my phone but apparently it also makes Divoom crash, it doesn’t work.

Divoom has a lot of features and works very well with my Pixoo Max. The navigation & menus could be a streamlined a bit.

They update it often, so any problems seem to be fixed, although I haven’t even noticed any real issues.

Like I said, some features aren’t easy to find but should be easily accessible. Plus a little more control over Custom “Channels.” Particularly allow control of the display time for individual animations.

Some positives. The animation is very easy to use, some w/ quick helpful features there. Tons of content. All app functions work very well & it doesn’t eat up my phone’s battery either. 4.5 stars!

Divoom was recently updated. Now, when you create a custom gallery (channel, as they call it), you can specify a minimum animation duration for each separate animation, to ensure that each animation will show for, say, 5 seconds before skipping. This is great!

It’s still very cumbersome to build a channel using animations from your Favorites list, though.

I love it I am already getting likes I love it too much maybe you should add some more games and other options for designing maybe just make the text to add spaces because I don’t know what’s happening it’s just the text is too big I don’t know how to change it

Everything about Divoom is amazing! I did, however encounter a bug where a particular animation I’ve made won’t upload correctly to my Tivoo. It doesn’t show up on the Tivoo and Divoom preview is glitchy and corrupted. I hope this message will help you locate the bug.

No respect for customers. They don’t want my money? My battery has failed on a timebox mini. It is easy to replace but a unique style. I have been sending messages for weeks with NO reply. Just want to buy a battery or get the correct specs to buy one. Is this another throw away device. Wasn’t cheap to buy.

Gets 5 stars because of the owners constant communication per Kickstarter and delivery of product which didn’t taken long even during the pandemic. Divoom itself took 5 minutes to understand and now I’m going to be riding with style with my this app product !!!

Compared to other apps I have, this one functions well. There are a few items that would be nice. A way to check how much battery is left on your device, better instructions on how to make custom pixel art, and better explanations on how to download pixel art from their server

Everything is good except you can’t adjust the clock. It should allow to customize the time setting so that users from foreign country could also use it.

There’s no search bar. When you upload something it says to tag it but I can’t find any search bar.

So I picked up one of these multi-function Bluetooth speakers at my local Sam’s Club since they were on sale. Downloaded Divoom and realized how worthless it is.

1. The music part lacks a search bar and ONLY lists your music by SONGS. You have to scroll and scroll and scroll in order to find a song that starts with say T. And why can’t I just pull up albums or artists??

2. Even after finding a song I want to play the speaker is totally silent. Turn the volume up - nothing!! Kind of pointless a speaker, yes??

3. How about some help text with some of the icons??

I’d really appreciate a way to sort the animations you’ve liked. Is the only way to really save them by favoriting them?

Divoom does a lot. Maybe too much. I can figure out how to do most things on Divoom and Bluetooth my designs to the pixoo, But how do I set up a picture playlist? In the clock channel how do I control the images? It lets you pick a clock style but not the weather pictures. Or at least I can’t figure out how. Wish there was a tutorial or manual. I saw a video showing a guy programming it but it was android and I’m iPhone. What is the deal with WiFi? Can I change to WiFi? App seems like I can but it didn’t work. And if I’m only Bluetooth does that mean when I’m away the weather will not update. And lastly I have a pixoo but the website only talks about the Pixoo Max.

I really like the hardware but the software has a lot of ux to work out.

Divoom it amazing! It can be quite entertaining to make pixel art. However, I feel there needs to be a way input hex codes or to add sampled colors to your pallet. Otherwise I really enjoy using Divoom

The UI to pair it is very bad. It won’t pair to my iPhone.

Update: restarted Divoom and it paired, the UI is still bad though, but updating my rating to a 3

Great app, great quality products but very difficult experience getting it to pair with my device.

Divoom is so amazing it makes you feel inspired

I dont review apps often, but I am STUNNED at this program for the pixoo.
