Simple Calendar Reviews

The only reason I’m not giving this a five is because it does not automatically print the time first before the title of the appointment. Right now for title I type in the time and the title of the appointment. Such as: 830 Dr Bob. So I don’t have to tap into that day to see what time the appointment is. So when I look at a day I know right away what times I am busy. I have found others that will do that but they don’t have the rest of the functionality that this does. I would also like to remove some of the holidays. Other than that I really like it. I’d like it much better than the calendar that came with my iPhone.

Most calendar apps I tried were too full of choices and made my head hurt when trying to get appointments and dates listed for the months ahead. SimpleCalendar. Is straight forward entering event, time, location and as many notifications as I want. A real plus, it saves previous data from appointments so the next time you need to enter that doctors name or favorite hair dresser you just tap on your choice from the saved list. The simple familiar calendar design let’s me see the entire month all on one screen. A great feature of SimpleCalendar is color coded saves on SimpleCalendar for different appts. I like to use the same color save for future appts. with the same doctor or nail salon etc. so I can easily pick them out when reviewing my calendar. 2nd time to review this wonderful App and I’m even more in love with it. I’m 84 and would not be able to keep my life organized with out it.

I needed a calendar that was similar to the Samsung Galaxy S7 version (as that’s what I was used to) for my new iPhone.
This one is about as close as I could get - with just a few minor issues. The literal only “issue” I have with it is that it cannot remember past events schedule time (like a regular working schedule) - though it does remember their event color. I have to retype it in by hand for each week (which can get a bit tedious after a bit).

I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have SimpleCalendar. Honestly it organizes my whole schedule including homework, social events, chores, and birthdays. I like how it has an alarm that you can set to go off at the time it’s due, as well as 15 minutes before it’s due. 10/10 recommend, especially since it is color coded as well and you can set events that repeat. Great for college students.

So far this is the first calendar I have been able to find where I’ve been able to get rid of all my paper calendars!! And that is huge!! I have tried a few others and either I had to pay more to get more features or just pay in general a large yearly fee before I even knew if it would work for me. There are tons of colors to organize people/events and I feel it’s easy to use!

I’ve been using Cozi (gold version) for years now, but sick and tired of paying the annual fee. The main thing I liked about the Cozi Gold was it would send me 3 reminders. I looked every year for a calendar that did this, but couldn’t find one. Maybe I missed them, as there are so many...I only have so much time and patience to try some every year.

Anyway, I stumbled across SimpleCalendar and resided myself to having to deal with only 1 reminder. Well, to much surprise, it had 3! YES! About the only thing I don’t like is o have to view an entire month - I’d like to be able to view weekly, but I can certainly deal with that.

One thing I’m going to have to research is why my husband’s email is also in the settings. I need to see if he will be linked if I put SimpleCalendar on his phone. If not, no biggie.

This is an excellent app for organizing my days for calendar events and time management! Before I had SimpleCalendar, I honestly don’t know how many times I’ve missed or had been late to events like doctor appointments all because my calendar neglected to give me the notification. But now I have a reliable calendar app that works when I need it to and I haven’t been late once since the download. In all, this is a FIVE STAR app! Great job devs.

I love being able to view the whole month on 1 page. That’s what I wanted

I had tried several different cal. apps & one similar one but it was so complicated that it was so hard to figure out. I am a senior citizen. I said to myself. “I just want a simple calendar app.”
I looked on SimpleCalendar Store & there it was. I love that it didn’t have so many features that I didn’t need. I was able to get it set up quickly.
Just what I wanted! Simple!

For years I used the Google calendar on my iPhone because the Apple calendar doesn't allow for viewing of event details in monthly view. Instead, you can only see dots on the days with scheduled events. To see event details in monthly view, you have to use an iPad or MacBook. SimpleCalendar solves the problem. Now I can see my Apple calendar events in monthly view when using SimpleCalendar on my iPhone.

I love this calendar! I think it’s better than the one that came with my iPad. To me, it’s easier to read (larger print, etc) and more user friendly. I don’t use it as much as other people may, so I know there are still things I need to learn about it to use it to it’s full potential. But I enjoy it more than other calendars that I’ve downloaded to try - but then deleted. I can’t honk of anything at the moment that would improve it.

Over many yrs I have used one particular calendar app. My calendar is my lifeline for everything in the busy business world and personal life that I live. I never found another that satisfied me. Then one day there was no longer a free version. That’s when I found Simple Cal. I have been using Simple Cal for 3 months now and LOVE IT!! It the perfect app! Everything I need without over doing it! Great job Simple Cal... you’re definitely a keeper!

I really like all the options available in this calendar but the color coding has helped me tremendously. I can just quickly glance at the calendar and have a general idea of what is coming up. The color theme choices are a nice touch as well as the option to have the calendar in night mode. This calendar copies and improves your operating system’s calendar so you get all of those choices/options too. This is the best calendar I’ve found so far.

Have been using SimpleCalendar for couple months. Works great. Especially like how everything is clearly labeled.

The ability to set multiple alarms for an event is functional & practical. Actually the entire app is this way. Read in one review about having expanded alarm settings. Agree would be helpful. Perhaps adding a spinner wheel for custom alarms?

One problem though. Set the alarm through Settings but a ‘resident? alarm alerts. Any suggestions?

Other than those two items, this is a good app. Use it as my primary. Good Show!

ps would also like to see either ‘No Alarm’ or possible ‘None’. There are some events that do not need an alert, just to be aware & this occurs when the day is opened. Thanks again.

pss is there an alarm sound setting or does it come off phone settings?

If I could give SimpleCalendar a million stars, I honestly would. In every calendar I’ve tried to use, there would be something that annoyed me. Whether it was video ads, limited events, or free trials. SimpleCalendar does not force any of that on you, and truly is the perfect calendar! Everything is so organized and clean, and it is one less thing I have to worry about. I know I can trust my calendar. Thank you, developers for making something honestly astonishing! ❤️

I normally don’t do reviews unless they’re very good. If they’re extremely bad, I don’t do those. I think that many people like to voice a bad experience so as to have a forum to complain. Anyway, I am doing this review because this ‘simple calendar’ is one of the most useful tools that I have on my iPhone for reminders and for reference. Don’t change it, it is the best that I have seen and I do not understand why Apple does not incorporate this into their phone. Keep up the good work!

I really like SimpleCalendar! I love the colors and different options on what to display. To others looking at my calendar, it seems busy, but to me it’s perfect! I wish there was a continuous scroll option from month to month (vertical continuous scroll and horizontal non-continuous) and a zoom-out option so I could see months together at a glance and even years. Also would like a login feature to save stuff! Otherwise amazing app! Keeps improving! Thank you!

I’ve been using SimpleCalendar for about two months now. I love it! I was looking for something to replace Google calendar and I looked carefully before choosing this one. I wanted a calendar that could display more events in the monthly view without having to tap on a link to see the info I needed. This has met all my needs. It is easy to use, and will do almost everything I want to do. The one exception is that I would like to be able to hold and drag an event to another day. Please consider adding this feature. Great app.

It’s easy to use and share, was glad to see you can choose the calendar you use and hide those in settings. Earlier in the year, somehow my entire calendar went to a calendar in google and somehow all my appointments ended up on my daughters work calendar, she was not happy and neither was I because I lost all my Appointments on my calendar and had no idea as to how to retrieve from her calendar, and she had to shuffle through my stuff. I just had to rebuild, which wasn’t easy. But looks like that problem has been solved. Thank you.

I am trying to wean myself off of a printed pocket calendar. So far, I am enjoying using this one. I am retired so I only need a monthly calendar for Dr Appts, occasional outings and such. I like the color codes which should be helpful. I read the reviews which suggested this one and so far, they have been accurate. I would get the ad free version but the ads at the bottom of the page are not annoying so I do not see the need for that. I am happy with SimpleCalendar and highly recommend it. The only thing I would change is the ability to uninstall some of the holidays that I have never heard of.

I avoided app calendars because I found them tedious and very annoying to use. But then my daughter suggested I try SimpleCal, as she was pretty confident I would really like SimpleCalendar, and by golly, she was RIGHT! My favorite feature is in the editing of an event...with just one tap, you are at an ‘easy to edit’ screen where you can change dates, times, or delete an event! Love the colors you can use too! Lastly, you can sync this calendar to Google calendar, which is super handy for some.

This is THE best calendar app I’ve ever used. Very user-friendly. I spent several days looking for a calendar that was like or similar to the one on my Galaxy phone and I’m so glad I found this one. This is as good or even better than what I was used to. The 1 requirement in SimpleCalendar I had was when opening SimpleCalendar , it needed to open to the current month and I needed to be able to see at first glance, what was scheduled on ea. day of the month. I didn’t want to have to go through numerous steps to see my scheduled appointments. I also wanted to be able to color-code the different things like birthdays, holidays, vacations, etc. SimpleCalendar had almost everything I wanted plus more. Now it’s so easy to schedule appts, or even change existing ones. The ONLY thing I’m not able to do, (and I’d give 5 stars if I could), is to be able to customize the alert times. I love the fact that I’m able to set multiple alerts for each appt or birthday, but there are times I would like to set say a “12 hr before” alarm, or maybe “8 hrs before” or even a “14 hr before” alarm but that isn’t possible. If that feature changed, SimpleCalendar would be absolutely perfect! I like SimpleCalendar so much that I’ve shared it with both my children and numerous other friends and family members, and everyone loves it. And the cherry on top is that it’s free! Thank you!

Annoying that when I set the time it constantly thinks I’m making a mistake and sets it back especially on the minutes because I have to scroll all the way to 30 and then it just goes right back sometimes a couple times before it realizes I’m not making a mistake and that’s actually what I want it to do. Other then that everything works great

Simplecal is a great app to layout your monthly events in a minimal fashion. So far SimpleCalendar has been very helpful in regards to being organized. However, there are two suggestion I’d like to give:

1. When you tap on a date and a list of events show up, you should be able to swipe left on an event and have a “delete” tab pop up

2. There really needs to be an option of “no alert” for events

For the most part this is a pretty good app, however, there is no option to delete option if you accidentally put something on the wrong day. I know my sisters birthday but somehow her birthday reminder is showing up on my calendar at random dates and this version will not allow you to delete any events. It’s annoying and if it was someone that I depend on my calendar to remind me of a date it could prove embarrassing.

Excellent calendar app. I love how I can customize by color and I love to easy it is to enter color coded appointments as long as you choose the color first😉. I just wish that if I put a contact in my calendar that I could set up SMS messages at a certain time before the appointment. I also wish I could see a hourly view, like a 3, 5, or 7 day, hourly view from like 7AM-8PM👍👍👍 Please PLEASE with a 🍒 on top ADD those things and I will continue using FOREVER! Other than that...GREAT APP!

Best calendar, specially for students, easy to use and it links with google and Apple calendar. But it has colors to identify your classes or any other event in your life, it has multiple alarms, I cannot say enough good things about it. It was one of my best decisions ever to use this calendar this semester, now I am supper organized, and not missing any important event.

I really love this calendar and that i can color coordinate and also that it shows just at a glance what’s going on each day, vs having a simple dot to indicate I have something scheduled like the default apple calendar. my only complaint would be that i wish you would make it so you could see the entire appointment info in the little square of the calendar at a glance, instead of it disappearing after a couple words

I use this calendar application daily. I stopped buying my favorite kitchen wall calendar. Now my phone is my favorite calendar. I note all upcoming appointments and special events here. I can title the appt so when I look at the month I can read the event titles. Some calendars offer a “dot” to note the event. Also, color coding types of appointments is quite helpful. I think SimpleCalendar saves each year so I can refer back to check past dates.

When I bought a new phone, switching from Samsung to iPhone, I lost my calendar, which I loved. I tried several and finally found this one. I use a different color for types of events and the icons add a new look. Try this calendar, you won’t be sorry.

I expected SimplCal to be a SEPARATE & distinct App from the data on my Apple Calendar App. But SimplCal just duplicates what is already on my Apple Cal. Is there a way to access SimplCal as a NEW calendar, totally clear of my information ion my Apple Cal?
