Don’t waste your time or money

Although SkyGuideAR has some visual appeal, the functionality of it is bottom of the barrel. I spent the $2.99 to get the constellations and planets, and discovered that it is useless. I was trying to help my kid point her new telescope at interesting stellar objects and with a bright full moon in the sky SEE from my house, SkyGuideAR showed the moon in NNW to W, and no attempt to calibrate it fixed it, the image kept jumping. The additional frustration came when not all information menus has a “back” button. I had to restart SkyGuideAR to back up from Earth.

Terrible

If I could I would give this 0 stars because it says see planets free any you can see like nothing and the constellations are way off and direction is way broken it just spins in circles

Why?

SkyGuideAR sucked, I got it just to see what one stars name was and it came up as something different every time, I wanted a free app and I got one, just with a premium pack so that you could see more than 5 stars. Having the premium was dishonest to the buyer because they probably only picked your app because it was free with “ok” reviews at first glance

Everything is bull

The name of the star is not accurate after you find the first one. SkyGuideAR tells me that every star is part of Taurus the bull.

Teases you than charges you

No good looking for planets you have to pay extra for the ones that matter.

Trash

I wish I could rate SkyGuideAR zero stars I could only see the moon and Venus and nothing is ever correct I will be deleting as soon as possible

Didn’t like the app

Nothing what I was expecting

Doesn’t work.

Fails to calibrate on latest iOS on iPhone XS Max

Just bad

Ok so here’s why I don’t like it because most the stars and planets are blocked cause there for premium and I’m not gonna spend money on it any way cause it kept going back to north so basically I’d point it in a different direction and then It would just go back to north also don’t say negative reviews aren’t realistic

Waste of money gps way off to sky

SkyGuideAR is complete waste of money. When I point to moon in on sky in guide frame does not line up to their star chart and objects. Cannot line up sky through camara to match their overlay view. Not slightly off it’s way off even after auto recalibration several times they should be ashamed of themselves for producing this poor quality app that is use less as a star map. Unfortunately can’t show pictures so you can see screen shot of what a joke SkyGuideAR really is!

Needs better search

I bought SkyGuideAR to locate a specific star, and paid for the pro version. $2 is not a lot of money. But...there is no “search” feature for stars, I scrolled down through hundreds (thousands?) of stars in the un-alphabetized list and eventually gave up. If you could type the name of the star, this would be a 5-star review

Poor app

SkyGuideAR doesn’t work. It will not leave the north. It’s always north

No Neowise in-app despite Alert

No Neowise in-app despite Alert.

Not formatted for iPhone 11 Pro or any notched iPhone. Developer in zombie mode.

Wish it included planets!

I like the UI and the stars as icons on a plain background. In that regard, it's ahead of other apps. SkyGuideAR has a lot of potential, but it's still pretty rudimentary. I really wish it included planets and showed the horizon.

Decent

This is an ok app, but I am only able to see some constellations + the sun + the moon + Jupiter. None of the other planets will show without buying a premium pack. I find this obnoxious because I just want to know where I can look for planets in a telescope.

Needs work, but decent

This is pretty basic, with few options. The compass is way off, however. My device compass is correct; when it points north, SkyGuideAR points northeast, even after calibration.

Haters gonna hate

I’ve seen a lot of negative reviews about SkyGuideAR. I used to have a star finder app which I paid for but for some reason it’s been deleted from my app list. I’ve got the free version of this and it’s just as good as the one I paid for. Give it a try it’s really awesome.

It does it’s job

For a few dollars it’s worth it. I am new to astronomy and now I can point out all kinds of stars and constellations.

FIGURE 8 DOES A FIGURE HATE

I want to rate this realistically but I can’t even get it to work in the first place. The collaboration doesn’t work so I haven’t even been able to use SkyGuideAR yet and I just want to use it because I love me some motherfudging stars and edumuhcation. Please help. I want my money back and I didn’t even have to pay for it )= App creator what do I dooooooooooooooo?

Excellent App

So Easy User Friendly!

App

SkyGuideAR doesn’t know up from down. Can calibrate and shows south is north and east is west

“Free”

“Hey download SkyGuideAR and you can look at a bunch of dots in the sky, but you need to pay if you want to their names.” Should have been the real description. I don’t write reviews.

I’m not paying 2 dollars for more planets

I can go in to space and find them for free.

Waste of my time

Don’t waste your time on this “free” app. It only shows you blurred images - except the moon! - but constantly tells you that constellations and stars are available in the “pro” package!

Don’t waste my time - either be an actual app or charge me up from!

Incomplete and imprecise

SkyGuideAR doesn’t have any data on planets or the moon.

Disappointed

Looks nice but difficult to calibrate and should not need that much calibration in the first place

Review

I think that SkyGuideAR is great for a lot of reasons. It is great to use at night when you are trying to figure out what star is which. It is also great to use for finding constellations. While this is a great app, there are a few downfalls. One of the downfalls is the fact that you must buy the full app to receive the full experience. You also must purchase the full app to see all or the stars.

Lit

i just downloaded this to find the big dipper and the calibration is on point af so yeah and i realized that there was that archer man constellation right in front of my face so yeah. its lit.
