Tasty review

First of all, I think this app is a cool app. I love their recipes and deserts. Sometimes, I like to watch their baking videos just for fun. Another thing about this app is that they have a tips section at the bottom of each recipe. That’s where people write down their tips on how to bake/cook the recipes. HOWEVER, the thing is that this app DELETES PEOPLES COMMENTS! That made me really mad. At first, some people were saying in the tips section that this app deletes their comments and I didn’t believe them cuz I never saw it happen before. But yesterday lots of people wrote something bad about this app and today I checked the tips section again and their comments weren’t there. So now I know that this app ACTUALLY DELETES PEOPLES COMMENTS! I’m seriously not lying. I would’ve given this app a five star review but I only gave you a three star review because I’m mad at this app. this app is a good app but I don’t like how they remove peoples comments about them and leave only the good ones so that it would seem like this app is a good app.👎🏻😤Also, if you download this app and see that there are no complaints about people having their comments deleted it’s because this app probably deleted them.(So typical) 😪😒IF YOU DONT BELEIVE ME TRY IT YOURSELF!! If you say something horrible about this app, this app is probably going to delete it a day or two later. I wish I could give you proof but I can’t because I can’t post a picture here. Just believe me or try it yourself.

Great app for ideas and guidance. Only one major digestion comes to mind.

First and foremost, the recommendations portion. Here I go. this app did an overall astounding job of developing Tasty. I would recommend to anyone who often feels the crave to cook, who needs practice, and who just wants inspiration. The recipes are exact for the most part except for sometimes the stove heat. The ingredients, procedures, and instructional visuals are well executed.
I only find one thing that could be improved (besides the minor stove heat issue). This is the filtration of Tasty . I just think it would be a bit more convenient if we had a better search function that shows more relevant results, and if Tasty ’s suggestions would be more filtered based on what we normally search and mark as made. This isn’t too major, but it was a contributing factor to the deducted star. Anyway.
So yeah, to anyone considering downloading this app, I would recommend it to you all the way. Just don’t get to frustrated if it’s missing something, because I’ve found that Tasty is constantly improving.

Good app, needs Some improvement

I absolutely adore Tasty, when I feel like baking something I look around and just go for it! I also just love watching the videos of how to make the food! However, I think Tasty needs some improvement. I love that they added a section where you can leave tips, that’s extremely useful. But, some recipes are outdated or don’t work, or just don’t taste that good. This is resolved due to the tips but still I think they could update the recipes themselves to help others. Another issue I found is that the links don’t work, at the bottom of Tasty there are recipe ideas and other posts. In those posts there are links to the recipes, when you click on them they don’t work. It would be cool if you could click on it and the recipe would pop up online or in Tasty . I also have an idea for this app, why not let users create there own recipes and have a separate tab to search user recipes? I think that would be cool and people could leave comments on their recipes. I highly recommend Tasty for any beginner baker/cooker or actually anyone!!

Great app for cooking

I’ve had Tasty for over a year now and I think this is great for anyone who loves cooking; the step by step videos are one of the fastest methods I’ve come across since it allows you to see what the dish should look like at each stage and you can rewind or just wait for the video to loop, this is great when you are making a recipe for the first time. This was a go-to app when we decide what to cook for dinner.
I say ‘was’ because the reason I’m writing this review today and only giving it 3 stars is while browsing to plan dinners for the week, suddenly there are ads popping up between videos where before there weren’t. C’mon this app I thought you were better than that. I understand that income is necessary but I was hoping you were getting the bulk of it from your cookware and book line as well as from your association with Buzzfeed. Now my cooking experience is interrupted by someone trying to sell me an electric toothbrush or apply for a credit card. I’m not saying I’m never going to use Tasty again, but I will think twice before I do and will more than likely break out our trusty cookbook instead.

Love the app, except shopping list

I really love Tasty. It is great except the shopping list is really not useful to me unless I’m just missing something. It just shows you the recipes and has a list of all the ingredients. Then lists another recipe and lists all the ingredients etc. you can remove ingredients from each recipe but still who shops by recipe? No one..it would make way more sense to add a recipe and then select which ingredients you need instead of defaulting everything to the list..I don’t need to buy salt every day and for every recipe. Usually I only need one or two things. Should add selected ingredients to a list and the list should be organized by food type (produce, spices, etc). It would be cool to see which recipe you are making that needs that ingredient still somehow (drill down menu?) As is I honestly just use a different app which I manually type in the ingredients I need because it actually organizes the ingredients and frankly it’s quicker than managing a 20 ingredient dump when all I need is ginger or something.

Five stars definitely so awesome

OMG!!!!!I love this app so much! I have four little brothers who all of the different foods so Tasty shows me easy ways to make each one of them also it’s so easy all you do is search up click on which one you want and watch a video it’s so much fun I love how you can see the customer reviews. Also it’s very helpful to see how many people would make the recipes again. Some of the recipes haven’t been that great but like all games they are a little glitches that can be sold but out of thousands of recipes I would say 95% of them are really good. I am a vegan and there are tons of recipes for vegans. Also there are recipes from different parts of the world i.e. India China Asia Mexico etc. There are also foods for people who are lactose intolerant vegan like my self vegetarian pescatarian allergy accommodations or anything else overall super helpful super fun and super super super creative. Also I like the music

Great for normal people

I have issues with many recipe apps because most recipes call for one or two random things that are expensive, difficult to substitute, and/or hard to find. Or they claim to be “easy” or “only 30 minutes”... which may be true for chefs or very practiced cooks, but not for normal people who just want new recipes to try. this app actually has doable recipes with things most people have on hand. There are of course more difficult or obscure recipes, but most of them are straightforward and geared toward people who don’t have a crazy amount of experience in the kitchen but also aren’t totally green. I seriously check Tasty every day hoping for new recipes. 😋 My only complaint is that you can’t organize the recipe books yourself. If you save a recipe, it automatically gets filed in “dinners” or “desserts” or whatever, which can make it a little harder to track down a particular recipe.

I LOVE TASTY!!!!

Tasty is amazing!!!! The food and recipe videos are awesome and they really help me and my family when figuring out last minute meal choices. Also, there are many videos in Tasty of people sharing food that taught them about their culture, family traditions, and what makes them who they are. I think it’s amazing that this app includes people in their videos who wants to share who they are and what makes them special. Most of the time when I’m on this app I don’t even have to be looking for something I will just watch all the amazing videos because all of them are so creative and look amazing! Also, on this app there are different groups of this app producers for example, this app Japan, this app demais, and this app 101. On this app 101 there are videos of an amazing producer, Claire showing you the best recipes to different foods. For example, how to cook the best cookies, how to cook the best brownies, how to cook the best pancakes, even how to cook the best eggs!!! There are even recipes you might have never heard of that will blow your mind. I love this app and you will too!!!!

10/10 would recommend

I use Tasty frequently and these are just a few things I’ve noticed. It’s a great app and I’ve been using it to expand my cooking knowledge recreationally for a couple years! It is very well organized. I just wish there were more categories you could sort the recipes by, because right now vegetarian is the only one. Some people might want to eat “healthier”, or find protein recipes, or have a specific diet that’s not vegetarian haha. I also wish you could search by ingredient. Sometimes when I have leftover ingredients it would be nice to see all my options when I search for it. The most important thing for me is a recipe randomizer, because since I cook recreationally I want to try new things and it would be fun if Tasty could pick a random recipe out of My Likes for me. Lastly, there is a bug with the All Likes page under My Recipes, where if I scroll down enough it won’t show all my previous likes, and it’s deleted some stuff I’ve liked in the past.

tips are getting out of hand

i have had the this app app for many years now, and i have learned so much from their videos! i love how they have so many diverse recipes that are so fun to make. however, i feel like this app has gotten a little worse over time for 2 reasons
1. the comment sections are getting out of hand. so many people are spamming the tips section with screenshots of online pictures and anime stuff. i suggest maybe not allowing to use pictures from your screenshot section if that’s possible, so that anime pictures and screenshots of things people didn’t make won’t show up.
2. i also feel like this app has been repeating a LOT of old recipes. i feel like they haven’t been coming out with new recipes lately. maybe it’s because i’ve had Tasty for so long, but i’ve been noticing a difference.
overall the this app app is amazing! it’s just that these two things have caught my attention so i wanted to mention it.

Great app but would love a different format

I have always watched this app, especially the ‘this app 101’ segment, and when I found out there was an app of course I downloaded it. I love the step by step mode and having a video to reference is very helpful. The reason I gave it 4 stars, however, is because of the format. The way the recipes are formatted, the ingredients are placed far away from the instructions, forcing you to scroll 50 times just to make sure you got the ingredients right. Maybe I’m just a snob with my recipes (I put all my online recipes into a formatting app), but I love the format when you look up this app recipes online, so I don’t really see why it’s different on Tasty . I end up just looking it up online or putting it into my recipe format app, rendering Tasty useless. I just know I love Tasty and would use it all the time if the format was better, which is why I still have it 4 stars. Thanks and I would love to see changes in the future!

Too many ads, redirects and flawed videos

I recently found this and I loved Tasty but the overkill addition of endless ads is just too much. They seem to be building momentum to the point I am about to delete Tasty . I don’t have time to watch a 1 min ad every recipe I look at nor do I have the desire to sort through banner ads trying to see what recipes are available. The search engine definitely needs some help because unless you know the exact wording used in the title, finding a recipe that fits what you are searching for can yield little or poor results (i.e., veg, veggie, vegetable. These are NOT pulled up together. What a waste of time). So what was a WOW app has become a MEH app. Bummer. Oh and one last addition, WARNING‼️‼️ be careful about the links that send you outside Tasty (like those in the guide section), it runs you through countless redirects, NO THANKS! These always reek of tech issues waiting to happen 😖! And lastly what is up with the messed up videos?! Doesn’t anybody test these? 15 second loop of someone putting onions in a pot of stock, that’s it, the end. Or 10 seconds of chopping veggies over and over. 👎

Great recipes, even for skilled cooks!

this app is a great app for those who want to learn how to recreate some of their favorite dishes and snacks. However, it's also a great app for those who are even advanced cooks, home cooks, or even chefs! There are plenty of detailed recipes with helpful videos, which makes them easy to follow and even use as a foundation to experiment with.

REQUEST: The main reason why I didn't give Tasty a 5-star review is due to the lack of other account linking options. I wish there was a way to create a distinct "this app account" as opposed to linking our Facebook accounts. A weekly or monthly email newsletter sent by this app with the most popular recipes for that timeframe would be a great incentive to create an account. Some of us don't have or use Facebook, so this makes it hard for many of us to save recipes we like if that's the only account option. If this feature could be added in the next update, I have no problem creating an account and bumping my review up to a 5-star.

SO GOOD 😋😁

So normally I don’t write reviews on apps.. but this time after only 1 hour of having Tasty I decided I needed to. SERIOUSLY Tasty is SO GOOD!! All the recipes are very easy even if you’re not too good at baking (lol I’m not!) and they give videos with each one so you can see what you’re supposed to do. I haven’t used the Grocery Pickup and I probably won’t, because I don’t need to buy new groceries every time, but it is a good feature if you decide to use it. And the search feature is really nice too. Basically it’s a really great app and even if you don’t use it a lot or bake or cook a lot, it’s still worth having it just in case you want a good recipe in a pinch or if you get in a random baking mood. I haven’t gotten any ads yet either, although like I said I’ve only had it for about an hour. Anyways it’s a great app and I will DEFINITELY be using it a lot. 😉

Amazing!!!

So I originally downloaded Tasty so I can learn how to make healthy snacks, and bake some desserts. And from the first day I downloaded Tasty, I adored it! I love how everything is so organized on your profile and how everything is on different topics. There are hundreds of recipes to choose from, and it has really enhanced my baking/cooking. I really love learning all these new recipes, and the best part is that THEY ARE SO GOOD! Every recipe I made has always surprised me. The instructions are nice and clear for me to read. I love the shopping list to. It makes it easier for me lol. I also love how they give you the all the nutrition facts, like calories per serving, how much fat, etc…because i’m always wondering these kinds of things. Again, makes things so much more easier for me. Definitely recommend! 👏🏻

Missing pieces to the puzzle

Thisislexi2 had a great review. These recipes lack a lot of essential instructions. For example: chicken spanakopita pie, you Must drain thawed frozen spinach and pat dry between like half a roll of paper towels or else your recipe will be soupy. I know this from experience but someone else may have no clue. Also, the ingredients list is Missing ingredients from the video (tomato, purple onion, Klamata olives) so if you export the list to your grocery list it will be missing essential ingredients. First video I’ve watched on Tasty and not off to a great start here. To end on a positive note, I enjoy these videos because they make great dishes look quick and easy. I don’t always have the time to watch a 15-30 minute episode on food network, and I Loathe food bloggers that use recipes as a platform to tell the world their life story. That being said, to compensate for short videos you must make up for it in written instructions. Also, congratulations on Finally incorporating hands with darker skin tones in your videos! Spinach and artichoke 4 ways is the first one I’ve seen like that which shined a light on the previous lack of diversity in your videos.

Great app but good be even better

First off I really enjoy Tasty. You have a real good winner here. I love the many dishes that I can find on it and I most definitely love the instruction videos that come with the meals; watching someone make the food first is a good visual learning curve for people who learn best from this method. However I can't give you five stars because it still clearly needs some more love given to it. There is no way to categorize my many dishes into set type of meals to make them easier to find, examples being dinner meals, lunch meals, chicken, beef, vegetarian, etc. The simple ability to place my recipes in categories would bring me so much more love for Tasty and give Tasty itself a lot more finish deserving of that 5 star. Also, it would be a bonus if people could leave comments on meal recipes, allowing others to share their opinion of the meal and maybe even offer helpful suggestions from their own experience. Otherwise, great app!!

Needs better filtering and allow removal of certain dishes like deserts

All you need is a little side menu categorizing dishes and keep what you have currently as the opening screen with the allowance of removing certain dishes (Mexican, pork or chicken, or deserts). If this allowed filtering and had a side menu option 5 stars. You have something big here but it's not there yet. I can't give you even 4 stars just for throwing everything you have in an app. Reddit did that for me. You need to take it a step further and allow a form of cataloging outside of favorites and allow this to be filtered even in a small sense. I hope you get what I'm saying here because when it changes I'll come give this a 5 star. And DEFINITELY allow a comment section, it's unfortunate but you make mistakes in some of your videos with the process of how you cook things and there are more talented people who will help make your app better. It will require constant monitoring but that's the price of success.

Great app, still needs work with content

I’d really like to give Tasty 5 stars but two pretty major things that knock off a star apiece. First off, I really do love the format, Tasty itself works well and is pretty stable. The videos are generally pretty solid in showing recipes from start to finish in an informative manner. The first issue is showing the same recipes over & over again. Sometimes the exact same recipe in several different categories. It’s bad enough for me to knock off a whole star. The second star off is grouped videos, x thing x different ways, and the like. Not terrible itself, but individual recipe pages usually only have a link to the group video, so I have to go through 4 other ways to make x that I’m not interested in to get to the one I am. Even worse if I want to make it and need to rewatch it. Can just as easily have single videos on the recipe page and link to the group page for those that are interested.

Best Cooking App!

I absolutely love using Tasty! It’s so helpful, it’s easy, it’s this app! Everything I’ve made using Tasty has been a favorite with my family. Thank Goodness for Tasty too because I had zero experience cook anything! Ever. After I got married the pressure to make dinner every night was very stressful, now I simply open my app and I’ve either saved something yummy or find something new to try. Thank you so much for making this. I don’t know what I would do without it. My favorite thing about this, is how I can save recipes so it’s easy to find something you’ve already made or would like to try. I also really enjoy that there A TON of variety, not just the dishes but also the levels of “difficulty”, and honestly even the “harder” dishes are so simple to make because of the set by step. Love, love, LOVE Tasty! Thank you!!

Best Recipe's Ever

I don't normally bake or cook anything, but when I first got Tasty, I browsed through some of their recipes and I felt like making every single recipe. I literally use Tasty for anything I want to make. Their recipes are so creative and delicious It also easily explains what you need and what your supposed to do. Their videos are also very easy to follow even on some hard recipes. I personally like using the step by step mode which shows each step chronically with a segment of the video that plays repeatedly and a caption of what you are supposed to do. I really like Tasty because instead of watching those long videos, Tasty does it in a fast pace which would reduce your time watching. Something that I would like that they add to Tasty is a section where you can comment on the recipes and give feedback.

Perfect Recipe App!!!!❤️❤️❤️

I have had other recipe apps but thus one is by far the best. Every recipe has a video and that is so helpful when you’re not so sure what you’re doing. They also have an amazing feature called step-by-step mode. In this cool feature every step has its own slide and you just swipe to get to the next one. This keeps the recipe less confusing and more manageable. Another helpful feature is the cookbook feature. You just have to tap a heart next to your favorite recipes and it places them into “cookbooks.” The next time you looking, for example, breakfast recipes, you just click on the breakfast recipes cookbook and you can see what you’ve liked before and you can make it again. Overall, I highly recommend this recipe to beginners and advanced cooks/bakers.
