Inaccurate

I ended up deleting 1byoneWellness20 . The scale itself works great to measure weight. However, 1byoneWellness20 is incredibly inaccurate measuring everything else. I am 5’5” and my goal weight is 140. Even when I put that in 1byoneWellness20 it tells me that my goal is dangerously overweight for me. Thankfully, I am comfortable in my fitness journey and recognize I have work to do but I’m okay with my body. 1byoneWellness20 could be incredibly dangerous for someone who has body image issues or a eating disorder. These inaccuracies need to be addressed and fixed.

The readings are inaccurate

It connects easily and without problems with my IOS device. The readings though: the BMI is useless (takes height vs weight), the fat %, not even close. If you use it as an idea to keep track, it will work (going down from 25% to 22% will probably mean you lost 3% of bodyfat) not paying attention to the actual percentage that is. For instance, I have a fat caliper and after taking 5 measurements, the average says I am at 12%, however the scale while using the 1byone health app says 22%, and the same scale using the wellness app says 18%.
Make sure you take your readings at the sane time, after doing the sane things over and over. For example, if you take them before going to sleep at night, be consistent. Remember the scale is sensitive to the amount of water in your body, so being hydrated or not will make a difference.

Needs work

1byoneWellness20 works well to connect with the company’s smart scales to download data, but it is lacking in many ways.

The history display is annoying. Instead of letting you set a time scale and then flip between measurements (body weight, muscle weight, ...), it resets the time scale every time you change measurement, and it doesn’t remember your preferred display window between sessions. Also won’t let you set the units (e.g. body fat percentage vs body fat weight in lbs or kg, etc.).

The annotation on the BMI scales is not consistent with the current medical literature. BMI in the 24 to 28 range is colored red indicating danger, but in fact there is no evidence for excess mortality in this range.

Cool concept, Inaccurate readings

As many other people mentioned it connects easily and 1byoneWellness20 is user friendly. Great for tracking weight. But weight only. All of the other readings are inaccurate and I believe they’re just calculated based on BMI which is a horrible indication of overall health especially for someone with a lot of muscle. I’m 121 lbs and it told me I’m overweight and in danger zone. That’s insane. The body fat is at least 10% off. It would be really great if all these readings were actually accurate because the concept and graphics are great. So overall cool concept but completely inaccurate.

Dangerous

Now overall this scale and corresponding app are accurate in weight numbers compared to other scales I’ve been on like at the doctors office. But I find 1byoneWellness20 could be very detrimental to a person who could be at risk for an eating disorder. I myself am very comfortable at my weight and know that it is a healthy weight for me but 1byoneWellness20 yells at me that I’m at a dangerous/excessive weight which is insane seeing as I’m 135lbs(5’2” is my height) like yea it wouldn’t hurt to say lose 5 more pounds but even at 129 over the summer it still was giving me the concerned warnings. Scales and apps like this should be encouraging people in a more positive way especially if they are already at a low weight. The language used could be detrimental to someone’s mental health.

Great potential

Pro
1. Effectively connects and communicates with the weight scale.
2. Records and displays a great deal of information (probably more than most users want) relayed from the 1byOne scale to Apple Health.

Opportunities
A. Out of step graphical interface. Many heath related apps (BP, Sugar Sense for example) could serve as examples of a better interface.
B. Items reported use a yellow "sunburst" positioned along the continuum; Are they meant to be indicators of current user status? That's probably what they are but what the sunburst represents isn't explained.
C. Are four ways to express body fat really beneficial or is that overkill and confusing? BMI, Visceral Fat, BMR and Muscle Mass are circling the same issue I think.
D. All data us apparently stored in the phone. 1byOne has a tremendous opportunity to improve by incorporating backup to iCloud and link the account across multiple devices. If there are any hopes to lock in a place in the online healthcare business, this must happen.

Stopped promoting to save new data since latest update.

I have been a satisfied user of 1byoneWellness20. But the latest version (5 days ago at this time) broke the ability to save new readings.

I've unbound and rebinded the scale to 1byoneWellness20 . The first reading after this does get stored. Subsequent readings show in 1byoneWellness20 but no prompt to save and after a timeout the prior reading (the one that had successfully saved) is the latest displayed in 1byoneWellness20 .

I don't want to have to repeat the unbind and rebind, but that seems to be the only solution. Hope the developer can provide a quick fix.

Binding scale instructions unclear

It seems that the ‘bind scale’ function is working, but not the way it is perceived to be. The layout makes it seem like the scale is supposed to be turned on but with no one standing on it in order for it to bind. This isn’t the case. You have to stand on the scale in order for it to sync back to your device after the recent app update.

As an recommendation to the developer, I would recommend making the instructions clearer. Specifically say, “In order to bind scale to device, please stand on the scale.”, or something like that. It would help greatly!

Great for tracking progress

1byoneWellness20 connects immediately with the device without any setup or settings. Data transmits fast. Easy to use interface. Clear explanations of results.

No issues with accuracy of results explanations. It's great just for monitoring changes for better, static, or worse.

I do wonder about the metrics they use to define levels of the results (the ranges of good, bad, normal) I think some standards have changed and they haven't kept up. Doesn't bother me at all, I use it in a relative way, not for specifics in numbers, but rather if results are changing for the better or worse.

I am extremely pleased with the 1byOne products. Especially that they use apps. Makes using devices much easier.

Bone mass ignore - it is wrong wrong wrong!!

My husband kept getting a red warning for his bone mass and a reading of “inadequate”. Considering the he has issues with low testosterone our doctor sent him to bone density test. Thankfully, the scale reading is off, really off.
BIA (Bio Impedance Analysis) was developed by NASA in the 1960’s and generally gave accurate measurement of body’s weight aspects, it is not accurate with this scale. Perhaps the sensors do not read accurately, perhaps the parameter set by the developer are exaggerated. My husband’s bone density is Normal!!!!

Stopped prompting to save...

As another reviewer notes, the latest version displays data from the current weighing. But doesn't prompt to save that data, and seemingly doesn't allow a way. I've looked for a workaround and haven't found one.

Without this about to save, 1byoneWellness20 is fairly useless. I'm hoping the manufacturer will soon fix this awful bug. Otherwise, we are not getting the functionality we paid for when buying the scale.

Descriptions need revision

With the most recent update, there is a description of each category that is measured, and recommendations for improvement, but the English translation is inaccurate and sometimes hilarious. “Your body fat rate is in health condition. Take a walking after meal can keep you healthy.” Also, the descriptions for weight zones are not accurate, 136 pounds for a 5’2” 53 year old woman is not overweight or “dangerous, in extreme risk for high blood pressure, heart disease, and diabetes”

Is my scale broken or is the app off?

I weighted myself this morning and I was about 150 lb and I decided to track my weight since I’m exercising and eating healthy now. It was around noon, I checked my weight WITH 1byoneWellness20 downloaded and it said I was 159 lb. How in the world did I gain 9 lb from just drinking water??? I uninstalled 1byoneWellness20 and it showed me my weight again to be around 150 lb. I downloaded 1byoneWellness20 again and it showed me 159 lb. Please fix 1byoneWellness20 if it’s the problem.

No longer works since last version update

Unable to get readings for last several weeks since update to version 1.09 on the iphone. Unable to find any way to get support. Tried new batteries, turn off and restart of iphone. This company seems to have another app that looks and appears to be the same. I installed that and it paired with the scale right away. If I uninstall 1byoneWellness20 I loose all history.

Average app and delete button in wrong spot

I think this is an average app. The most annoying thing is the location of the delete button is in the bottom right corner on the screen so it is fairly easy to delete your history and not recover it.
Also the graphics chart make it seem like a 1/2 lb is a HUGE jump. I bit over exaggerated.
I have not used with a Fitbit

Works as advertised and better

Bought this 1 month back and its the perfect tracking machine. Cross checked numbers with higher grade machines like Dexa. I would recommend this to anyone who are serious about their whole health goals and not just weight.
Go for it with 100% confidence.

So much better than the “new” app

I switched back to 1byoneWellness20 from their health one because this one tracks all the categories better. I am just sad I lost all my data when I thought I was being forced to switch. The UI May be clunky but the use is easy. I much prefer 1byoneWellness20 for my scale over onebyone health.

Ehh

As far as i could find this scale is not accurate when it comes to measuring anything other than weight (measures weight great tho). The scale said my water level was low ( i drink a gallon a day and its 9:30 pm) so I decided to chug some water and see if it showed and increase. After 14 gulps i went to the scale and it showed a decrease in my body’s water level instead of an increase 😂.

New updated app leaves questions

I downloaded the new app and went from 18% body fat to 21% after a hour at the gym. Leaves me questioning whether there’s an issue with 1byoneWellness20 getting the data from the scale or if the scale isn’t actually measuring body fat to begin with and is just extrapolating from your height, weight, and weight goal and spitting out a made up number.

Overweight?

The weight and app is really cool, love it!
I don’t touch the “edit” profile function as stuff get deleted.
What I have trouble understanding is the measure definition. I feel in pretty good shape, 38yrs, 183cm and 84kg, 22% body-fat, but 1byoneWellness20 is calling me overweight. It’s great as I get motivation to improve but when I check other sources my BMI is optimal.
I’m I the only with this issue?

Great idea, but poor functionality

I have had this scale and app a couple of years now. I love that it connects to Apple health and shows all of the past data/history. However, it is not user friendly and the interface is outdated and a poor design. Also, I don’t find that it’s very accurate for some measurements....sure weight is accurate, but after using a professional body fat % scale I found that this scale/app is adding 3-5% body fat more than what I actually have.

I also don’t like that you can’t manually add measurements or alter them. It would be nice to input the body fat % from the professional scale and have that visible in my history on 1byoneWellness20 and to see if that will change the way the scale reads future body fat % measurements. Additionally, I don’t understand how it is calculating the bone mass and how my bone mass could “decline” that significantly in a 3 year period.

Lastly, the fitness/activity section should offer more options in terms of activity levels or sync with the Apple Watch so that 1byoneWellness20 could have more accurate data regarding physical activity.

Good information

I appreciate the information 1byoneWellness20 offers, but I do have two improvements.

1. Allow data to be synced to Fitbit app.

2. A better interface. While I realize this isn’t the most important, I would like to not feel like I’m back in 2012 again when using 1byoneWellness20 .
