The readings are inaccurate

It connects easily and without problems with my IOS device. The readings though: the BMI is useless (takes height vs weight), the fat %, not even close. If you use it as an idea to keep track, it will work (going down from 25% to 22% will probably mean you lost 3% of bodyfat) not paying attention to the actual percentage that is. For instance, I have a fat caliper and after taking 5 measurements, the average says I am at 12%, however the scale while using the 1byone health app says 22%, and the same scale using the wellness app says 18%. Make sure you take your readings at the sane time, after doing the sane things over and over. For example, if you take them before going to sleep at night, be consistent. Remember the scale is sensitive to the amount of water in your body, so being hydrated or not will make a difference.

Dangerous

Now overall this scale and corresponding app are accurate in weight numbers compared to other scales I’ve been on like at the doctors office. But I find this app could be very detrimental to a person who could be at risk for an eating disorder. I myself am very comfortable at my weight and know that it is a healthy weight for me but the app yells at me that I’m at a dangerous/excessive weight which is insane seeing as I’m 135lbs(5’2” is my height) like yea it wouldn’t hurt to say lose 5 more pounds but even at 129 over the summer it still was giving me the concerned warnings. Scales and apps like this should be encouraging people in a more positive way especially if they are already at a low weight. The language used could be detrimental to someone’s mental health.

Inaccurate

I ended up deleting the app. The scale itself works great to measure weight. However, the app is incredibly inaccurate measuring everything else. I am 5’5” and my goal weight is 140. Even when I put that in the app it tells me that my goal is dangerously overweight for me. Thankfully, I am comfortable in my fitness journey and recognize I have work to do but I’m okay with my body. This app could be incredibly dangerous for someone who has body image issues or a eating disorder. These inaccuracies need to be addressed and fixed.
