RUCKUS Unleashed Reviews

Good idea, but like many things Ruckus, they started this project but still haven’t finished it years later. Would love it if the people who designed and built Unleashed would check in on their work, use the system, and clear out the many bugs that have persisted for multiple years now. Not a usable product when compared to Eero or other things with a way smaller price tag. Ruckus is going to lose the home/consumer market if they continue to publish rough drafts of their ideas without actually going out in the field and watching people using their own products and deciding to fully commit to Unleashed and finish what they started years ago

On firmware 200.6 I was receiving my full speeds that I currently am paying for since updating to 200.9 my max speed the system shows it supports is half of my overall speeds. UI works fine within RUCKUSUnleashed just disappointed I can’t get my full speed unless I revert to an older firmware. Threads I have seen online have stated the same issues I’m currently having would like to know when this issue will have a fix implemented so I can fully enjoy my WiFi to its full capicity besides having to downgrade my firmware.

This “SmartHome” system is a joke. Lennar must have purchased a ton of this garbage. For 2 years it has had daily “heartbeat lost” events. Every time there is a power outage(most likely by Lennar construction activity) the ICX7150 switch will not accept power from either my Nighthawk R7000 or R6850 routers. Phone support originally could get it functioning again until this year. I tried upgrading to the Arris SB8200 modem without any change. I have far superior internet service just using my own equipment. Commscope no longer provides phone or email support to Lennar home buyers!

I finally moved on from several pro brands of Wi-Fi to Ruckus. I’ve never had more solid consistent performance. Besides that, the Unleashed app was a bonus. I didn’t purchase the Ruckus AP’s for RUCKUSUnleashed but now that I’ve used it, it’s amazing. Simple and clear, and intuitive. Three things every GUI should be.

RUCKUSUnleashed will let you upgrade your firmware, manage the network names and passwords and set schedules and easily spin up another SSID. So yes all the basics are there.

There are SO many things wrong with it though.

For example when you enter RUCKUSUnleashed it ask you to do a typical install, gateway install, or manage network.

The very first time you use it, this makes sense. Every other time you’d want it to go straight to the login page. RUCKUSUnleashed will surely know if you’ve already set up your network since it’s stored data about it.

RUCKUSUnleashed nicely gave me a push notification warning about a rogue network that had shown up. Great. Now if I could see more about that warning or get the notification (little red number) to go away.

It feels like they really had no idea at all what their users would need on a regular basis beyond setup.

Ruckus Unleashed is really simple to setup. Not much to do after initial deployment. I love the ease of using social media account to link to my network so I can view the network status and recent network traffic remotely.

The reason that I’ve given it 4 out of 5 stars is because I feel it is missing some basic functionality that you would normally get. What I would like to see is the ability to select what channels your ap’s broadcast as well as the ability to adjust signal strength.

The new version doesn’t work on iOS 16.5. Myself and neighbors in our development all have the Ruckus unleashed app that is used with the Ruckus 7150 c12p switch with the Ruckus 510 access points. Everyone’s login and password stopped working on the unleashed app. I’m assuming this has to do with iOS updates. I was able to login on my iPod which is running iOS 12.5.6.

I find myself frequently rebooting the system as a direct consequence of my ruckus R510 series. I’m better off just leveraging my cable Wi-Fi network direct however given the location The ruckus app is within a better proximity to the hub. There is no really great support on their website and overall not worth it. I’d rather go back to using Orbi as my extender as far more reliable

Well RUCKUSUnleashed has been great for the past few years but now I can’t seem to connect. Which means I can’t update or make sure it is working correctly. Tried to get support but in order to do this you have to agree to let your information go out to servers oversees. WTH.

This system was installed in our newly built home by the developer. We received no instructions on how to operate the Wi-Fi system. It was easier to replace with an xfinity Wi-Fi system than try to work with this system, so now I have two Wi-Fi systems in my home. I hear Ruckus is a good Wi-Fi system but until ruckus spends a little time educating its residential users, their systems will be unused or replaced.

App crashes when setting up remote login.

Update: App does not crash any longer when setting up remote management once logged in (app also now tells user that remote management requires a valid Unleashed support contract).

Great app but why did you guys get rid of the analytics for each individual device? I used to be able to see analytics for each device and since the latest firmware update I can only see bandwidth usage for the entire wireless network.

Have been deploying WiFi for many years and struggled with boutique brand stability. Ruckus Unleashed is so easy to deploy and completely outperforms other brands. So glad to be on board!

Reset the AP. Connect per RUCKUSUnleashed instructions to the SSID, but RUCKUSUnleashed says that I need to connect to the AP. Well, I did that. I’ll be sending this garbage back. Not worth the hassle. Oh, and screw you for forcing a contract for basic tech support. As an evaluation for future use on a 6000+ room hotel installation, this product fails out of the gate. Go elsewhere and save yourself the hassle.

I went from using both Comcast and Cox products to now this due to the purchase of a smart home enabled with this. The interface is lacking, the ability to control the internet for devices is super basic and when you are trying to navigate, there’s no help option. Maybe it’s great for some but for us it’s a serious downgrade

Great app makes overlooking Ruckus APs more efficient.

However, need to fix the glitch that whenever I try to login via email and password it wont proceed to the screen for the login it will take me back to the home page. NEED THIS FIXED

RUCKUSUnleashed looks like an amateur production. It doesn’t look or feel like something designed by a big networking company. There are strange spellings and punctuation usage. The startup flow is very weird. Overall it works, has relatively limited functionality, it’s kind of poor quality and doesn’t instill the user with confidence that the network will work.

App won’t recognize my unleashed network now. Whole system is unusable now, sending back this useless brick of “networking” gear ASAP. if the network design is anything like RUCKUSUnleashed (stuck in 1999), this company isn’t going to be around much longer. My 6 year old special needs daughter could create a better functioning app than this!

Trying to get past the login screen is now impossible bc it constantly says I am not connected to the network even though I am. No way to fix this as of yet.

UPDATE 12-August, 2023: Ruckus says that the login issue can be fixed after I update the firmware on my APs. Question: IF I CANNOT LOGIN BC YOUR APP SAYS I AM NOT ON A CONNECTED NETWORK EVEN THOUGH I AM HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO UPDATE THE FIRMWARE?!?

Great app if you want to quickly check on events or anything that happens on your Network. RUCKUSUnleashed interface, though needs an update, or at least a dark mode.

Trying to access RUCKUSUnleashed is a nightmare. I tried calling support and support won’t help me because I’m a residential owner. They told me I have to go to the forum for Lennar home owners and submit a question on there. Well I followed the instructions of updating my AP via online browser and updated it. But I still can’t login on RUCKUSUnleashed . It keeps saying login failed. I’m at the point of just tearing out my ruckus units and buying a different brand.

My ruckus is stuck on register device. I went to the ruckus web page and registered it. I rebooted the device and it still is stuck on register.

It was suggested I try RUCKUSUnleashed on my phone. I tried to upgrade my home ruckus that isn’t stuck from RUCKUSUnleashed before trying it at the office. RUCKUSUnleashed says failed to fetch versions.

I used to install ruckus for all my clients. I’m thinking it is time I give ubiquiti a try again.

RUCKUSUnleashed is absolutely useless. I upgraded the Master AP to the latest firmware without issues. For some unknown reason, the Client AP did not upgrade and went offline. The mobile app cannot reset an AP. You have to contact technical support via email. Ruckus no longer provides telephone support for Lennar home clients. They will direct you to confusing and obsolete instructions without videos to reset the AP. You’re at risk of disabling the wifi throughout your house. If it were possible, I’d rate RUCKUSUnleashed at ZERO stars.

This device was installed in my home as part of a SMART package. I would periodically update RUCKUSUnleashed , recently I tried to update as normally would and I received a message saying I was no longer on the Unleashed network. I have not been able to access my application or update it and they does not seem to be any help for this problem. I’m very frustrated with this device.
