1 Star Until Update

Ive been a frequent player if this game for years. In previous versions there was no way to save data so ive had to start over numerous times. I just started playing again and im having a problem where i cannot scroll to see buildings and mines to build. Its just stuck on the first 2 or 3 towers or mines i can build which is keeping me from progressing as i cannot build what i need to please fix this, because otherwise this game is a 5 stars
Edit: so now my game had traded bugs i can now scroll on towers to build but my game keeps force closing and shutting off as soon as i open DeepTown . Im scared to uninstall and re download because idk if data will be saved or i will have to start over again and i really dont want to do that.
Edit 2: i had to delete it because it kept glitching closed. Im gonna try again later because this is very irritating as this has been a constant problem even in early version it just wasnt this bad.

Only 2 Hours of Idle???

I’m going to agree with the other recent reviews, I was just starting to make really good headway in the game, a decent mining setup, upgraded bots and knocking out objectives left and right. Now I’m hit with a two hour idle limit?? What the heck?? It was fun before but now my 3 hour boosters on my bots mean little to nothing if I’m limited to only two hours of offline idle! With school and work, along with sleep, taking up most of my other time, I can’t check it often enough to warrant anything. I get that the devs are trying to maximize income, but this isn’t how you do it. The game just overrode its biggest feature of having timed bots in the first place. If they redact this feature of 2 hours of idle, the game will be good again. But as it stands, it isn’t worth it. Not enough can be done in two hours of idle. In eight hours, a decent can be done and it’s usually the right amount of time for any amount of idle. Limiting it like this isn’t how you grow the game. It sadly wasn’t an improvement this time. I hope the devs see this and reverse this decision.

Great Game, Except

This game is really fun and engaging. There’s different kinds of mining and a crafting system to keep things interesting. There are micro transactions, but the game isn’t pay-to-win, you can make good progress without spending any money. This would be a 5 star review, except for a major bug I’ve encountered.

In order to progress in the game, you have to craft certain items. The one I’m currently working on needs 50 lamps (which also have to be crafted) as base materials, among other things. There’s a weird glitch, though. In my inventory it will show I have more than enough, like 68. But on the crafting menu, it will say I have like 18. No matter what I do, once I get to 50 lamps, the counter resets. I’ve been through this cycle about three times and am quite frustrated. I can’t move forward until this bug is corrected. Once this issue is fixed, I’ll give the game the 5 stars it deserves.

Pirate

I really do love this game, I spend a lot of my free time playing it and even got a gem pack since a friend recommended it. I do have a few complaints though. The pirate feature is extremely broken at the moment, I haven’t manipulated the game in any way including going from different time zones or changing the time and yet ive been a pirate for almost 4 days now keeping me from guilds. Second, I lost all my progress the first time I played because I tried reinstalling it and I had tried downloading the data but lost everything, including the gems I bought 😭 again I absolutely love this game and will continue to play but I’d love if the pirate thing got fixed :/

Fun but confusing

This game was really fun for me for about a few weeks, but one thing I quickly realized was how confusing this game is. There were two main issues I had with this game, one concerning the crafting and smelting floors and the other involving the satellite. I think you guys just need to implement a better tutorial including a) how to smelt, craft, buy new buildings b) how to build the satellite (I don’t mean the missions, I mean integrating a second tutorial that actually puts you through the motions. I’m looking for more of a hands on experience here). Other than that, this game was fairly fun and entertaining but even the layout of where things were was hard to navigate. Please correct these and integrate the story more—after that, I’ll be much more pleased with how this game turned out. For now, I’m deleting it and giving it three stars. I’ll be downloading it again sometime soon to see if the bugs were fixed, though, so I’ll definitely give it second and third chances.

Fun diversion up to a point

This is a unique and well crafted game. I appreciate the thought and care that went into it, and this is one of the few games of this genre that isn’t constantly trying to make you spend big money or watch a billion ads. The ads are there and cash items, but the suggestions are subtle and the game is very much still playable without spending. That makes me want to invest some money into it for my appreciation of their work.

However, things changed when I got to Area 75 or thereabouts.

Suddenly the majority of quests and items to craft require me to dig to area 85 and the costs to upgrade mining tools is enormous. Also, when I got to this level, I was offered nothing new to explore or fun little hints that something good was coming up.

Up until Area 75 or so, the quests and new crafting items seemed on par (though I think the dependency on coal and copper goes too far into the game. It should progress to newer resources.) but suddenly everything is stalled until Area 85. I just grind out the materials I need to upgrade mines and make coins. The game got boring quickly.

Also, what’s up with Trading? I keep upgrading, but the prices for items are about 1/2 the price of selling them. At the level I’m on, the prices are supposed to be 1.14 the selling price. They’re no more than 0.50. Seems like a waste of time to even open it.

Fun game but...

Don’t get me wrong this game is awesome...until it decided to break on me this morning and now the game won’t even LOAD whenever the bar gets full the music starts playing but nothing else happens the game just has the loading screen there...i tried restarting my device, I’ve tried restarting the game not by deleting it but nothing works and i really liked this game but now it’s just making me mad because i can’t even get in to check anything. I got in a few times by leaving DeepTown (but it’s still open) and going to another but as soon as i went back in it opened up to my chemical miner and kicked me out instantly. I don’t know if it’s a new bug from the new update but you seriously need to fix it or else i will delete this game as it is unplayable.

Likes and Don’t Likes

I’ll start with what I like, the art style of this game is fantastic, also the lore, it takes a while to work your way through it but it’s very cool. The process of leveling in the game can be a bit slow but finding new resources that play along with the lore is very interesting to me.

Few things I don’t like, There’s a chance I’m playing it wrong but, I’m currently trying to make a mining floor, I have 2 robots, one that
Collects offline for me and one that builds for me, the robot that builds has been making the same mining floor for 2.5 days now, Real time, which is VERY wild to me, and with how often the game gives you the opportunity to make a mining/chemical floor you’d think it would be faster then 2.5 days and only getting longer with each floor, you can use gems to speed them up but there’s not way you’ll have enough without spending money to get anything done without long wait time.

Overall a cute game, hasn’t given me many problems beside having to wait many days for very little progress

Great Idle Game - needs a few changes

I’ve been enjoying this game!! It has good progression but needs some improvements to make it an “A” tier idle game.

1. Enable a queue for the bots. It’s so time consuming to upgrade 17+ mining stations to the next level when you have to wait for each to finish... if you add a queue then at least you can step away - like actually idle - and the bots will complete all the upgrades

2. Put a limit cap on crafting. A few times I’ve needed a few amber charges or copper wire, and I would forget about the game for a couple hours. When I come back ALL of the basic materials have been used, and I have a ridiculous amount of charges and wires. A crafting limit is so incredibly needed to stop this frustrating problem.

3. Incorporate an advertisement button to speed up upgrades/construction by an hour or 10% of upgrade time each ad. This is a win-win. You get more money, and we don’t have to tie up a bot for half an eternity building something new - especially later game upgrades/construction when it takes days to do anything.

Very fun game:suggestion

Fun game all around to be honest. I have a small suggestion with regards to the shop. I completely understand that this is a free to play and that it is ad supported with micro transactions. However, could you please add an ad-block option to make a smoother play experience? I’m on an iPhone 11 with 15.6.1 (the latest as of this review), I’m currently at about half capacity with regards to memory and after a short time of playing (and watching ads) I have to close the game and reopen it. After a few times of doing that, I have to reboot my phone just to ensure the game doesn’t lag out or that I don’t get repeated “error” messages when trying to watch the ads.

Thanks

Favorite Offline Game But You Better Save

I honestly really liked this game. There are so many items you can collect and even some interesting lore. I didn’t realize how much I would come back to this game just to see if I had enough materials to upgrade. Despite this process taking so darn long, it keeps you coming back to it and it is very satisfying when you finally accomplish it. I haven’t even brought up all of the different floors you can build and upgrade to acquire more materials not to mention the game works very well offline.

There is one big issue I ran into unexpectedly, however, which is why I don’t play anymore:( I don’t know if this has happened to anyone else but I was on level 387 and excited because I was close to what I can only assume was the final boss of the whole, entire areas. Unfortunately, I wasn’t yet strong enough to beat the current corrupt block and was saving for an upgrade, so I closed the game to do something else. When I got back on, however, my progress was completely reset. I was on level one again and I didn’t realize you could save before. Keep in mind that I’ve been playing the game off and on for at least a year and I don’t know how to get my progress back. So a warning to anyone who wants to play: save your progress.

Very addicting and fun buuut…

This game is overall very well thought out and keeps you grinding for more which makes it really fun. But, some quality of live improvements would go a long way in this game. For example, crafting. I constantly find myself with an excessive amounts of crafted items after I left the game for too long, so what I propose is a bar that you can control that limits the amounts of items you want to craft, for example 1000 amber chargers, or 100 insulated wires and a switch that you can toggle enables how the game crafts now. Another addition that would go great with this is a queued item list, so after you’re done crafting 1000 amber chargers, it immediately switches to crafting 100 insulated wires. Lastly, I propose an easier way to mass move mining stations, chemical miners etc. I propose you revamp the “mine buildings” menu and allow for you to move the mining stations, chemical miners, etc. with more ease.

I hope you didn’t take this the wrong way, i absolutely love this game and would just like to see it grow more.

Very good!!

I like this game a lot. I like all the stuff to do, all the things to sell and collect. Very fun idle game but very unique in its own way. Overall a great game! Thanks for making an easier way to navigate the stations.

One thing though: The improve crafting bot function doesn't seem to do much since he moves between crafting floors, and only provides the benefit when it is on the actual floor, so items that take longer than 20 seconds don't get any benefit from it. Maybe have it provide half the benefit for both floors, or let you choose which floor for the full benefit. (Same goes for bot smelting function). Keep up the great work

Fun & Entertaining

Deep Town is a fun and entertaining game that is ACTUALLY free to play! It does take a bit of time to make noticeable progress but that is half the fun. Who wants a game that ends quickly anyways? You gain gems from completing an ENORMOUS amount of quests (which are actually not a drag... there is a decent story line behind it all). You also receive gold from selling the items you have mined/found/received from crates, etc., and between the gems and the gold that you get, you are given everything that you NEED to progress in game for FREE! (Of course you could always speed things up by buying gems but it’s NOT a pay to win (or play) game here in the slightest, which I appreciate and will continue to enjoy playing! Thank You For This *Gem* Of A Game!

As good as Minecraft

Minecraft is good you know what else is good...deep town you mine through the earth just like Minecraft and you can also craft stuff like in Minecraft and it’s also a long game just like Minecraft there is basically everything there is in Minecraft in this game the only thing that sets it apart from Minecraft is that it’s realistic and it’s 2D this is a great game that I play for hours every day and I love it this is also a great mobile game and there aren’t that many good mobile games so I’m happy that this is a good game it’s a perfect balance of difficulty and fun and it’s feels good to progress in this game and the quest feel rewarding it’s also a great game for kids because it is entertaining and family friendly this is one of the most greatest games I’ve ever played and I’m hoping for a sequel called deep town 2 thank you for this game rockbite studios

Great game with ......

Broken mechanics! I’ve been playing for over a year now, and it’s great cause its an idle play game that you need to turn on a few times a day to gain resources. The last few months I stopped playing other games on my phone and only play this and another game only so I have taken notice to the fact that the chemistry floor doesn’t produce anywhere near what it should for the amount of time you know you gave it to work, while being as far in the game as I am I rely heavily on that floor and it doesn’t do what it should. I can’t ask for support cause the support feature is broke too.

Glad to see this classic is still around.

This game is pretty nostalgic for me, and I’m happy to see it’s been updated. I used to play it all the time and forgot what it was called. And then it was recommended to me. Anyways this is a great game. One of if not the best mobile game. It’s best to get into it yourself and avoid watching videos of this game and reading the rest of this review to avoid spoilers. But the ads as soon as you kill an elder is killed takes away from the sense of accomplishment. I’m still giving 5 stars because everything else is amazing.

Super cool🤩

The first star is because the robots like they’re super cool there’s so much detail and I like how there’s like some brains, and like lightbulbs on them. the second star is because the first cut scene of the entire game like the first cut scene is so good like I like the rocketship and like how you’re going on a planet like that’s super cool. The third star is because like I mean the there’s so much stuff to actually do like you can do smelting there’s chest you can get iron Amber all that stuff like that that is just amazing. The fourth star is because of the corrupted blocks like the corrupted blocks. I just like the tentacles and like you unlock new areas when you defeat them , like the game is like way too good. The final star the fifth star ,it is like the graphics like theirs so much detail and like the ship like the planet the blocks like everything is so detailed and that is why I think this game should have five stars.

Great game

This is a really good relief game from all of the other mobile games. This game isn’t like your typical game with hundreds of ads a minute, and no real purpose; this game has absolutely no ads, and it has a real purpose. In this game you have to use different variations and strategies of spells while mining to defeat bosses and clear levels to put down mines. Mines help you get resources, which you can sell and put towards projects like putting together the satellite early on in the game. Overall this is a really great game, and I highly recommend you play this game for a really nice relief from classic mobile games.

I really enjoy the game nowadays

I haven't played this game for about 4 years and I really feel the game is much fresher, I feel that the new developer has improved the appearance of the game and the options they have added, with the "no ads" option I really feel that I never get stuck playing it, i really like how the game is nowadays and that's why i rate it 5 stars, although hopefully one day they will add more content, maybe new expansions or something interesting, but other than that, the game is a lot of fun as it is how are you doing.
