VIN Report for Used Cars Reviews

This was super helpful before I purchased my new/used car yesterday! I get they cannot provide the accident/service history for free, however, they provide every single other detail you could want, and even provide a link to a free site that shows if the vehicle has either theft in its history, or if it has been wrecked/salvaged/refurbished & if so when. I literally had THE hardest time finding online an accurate list of ALL the features on the specific year/make/model car I was looking at, but because this info is based off VIN, they provide the most accurate & detailed list I’ve seen anywhere....in addition to a ton of other helpful & relevant information. Thanks, keep up the great work!!

Incredible app. If you ate car shopping, het this and use it. They aggregate so much data, cut out the fluff, present it in an easily consumable way, and provide market insights you will never be able to deduce on your own. Not sure how this is free but ... wow. I left a deposit in a car, got sort of cold feet, then remembered VINReport. I went through all the data and concluded that my deal was at least fair, possibly good or good plus, and that the car I landed on likely to hold its value throughout my payment terms. So, yeah. I feel better but I also feel like had I found out the car was a clunker, I could have bailed. Fantastic service.

About a couple days ago VINReport wasn’t properly registering my account as a pro member, it was pretty frustrating at first as i wasn’t able to look up VIN reports for my customers. As i was about to cancel my membership I decided it would be smart to send a quick email to the customer support. The part that surprised me was how fast they responded in a quick and professional manner. They responded within an hour and had my account back and running the next day, shoutout to Julie, Kara and the developers for everything!

I first encountered VINReport as a web-based app when researching a car. The web UI was excellent and provided a lot of detail information. A week ago, I was doing some more research, and I said it would be nice to have that browser-based app as a mobile app. Little did I know it was already available. I was blown away with VINReport, and the UI on VINReport is so granular. Everything and more one would need when researching a VIN#. What more can you ask for in an app like this?

It’s free for personal use and it’s great. Just type in the vin # from any car, truck or van and everything you need to know pops up in just a second. There’s nothing you won’t know after using this site about any car etc. your looking to buy, fix or are just curious what size engine it has. I love VINReport.

Update: Still shopping for cars and I run into a paywall?? I saw some old developer responses to people’s reviews stating that they determined that 10 free reports was adequate but I’m seeing now that it’s been shortened further to 5. I’m disappointed. I really thought VINReport was a game changer, but it’s just another cash grab. Deleting.

Not only does VINReport provide you with tons of free info to help you make decisions on used cars, but it provides the links to legitimate and reliable sites that provide the info you’re looking for. I learned quite a bit from VINReport within the first 5 minutes of using it. THIS is how VIN lookup apps should be made. THIS is how you help people.

I have used VINReport to confirm that the vin number matches exactly the vehicle and importantly, the exact mileage the vehicle is advertised as having. For many years I have the privilege of using VINReport to not only help me, but also to help my family members and friends look up the vin number for any vehicle they have been interested in purchasing. Seriously, it could do a deeper report and try to de-throne carfax! But we all know that it will never happen cos’ who have money have power. It is in the banks interest and also the big auto groups to keep carfax duping their vehicles and flooding the market with lemons that become Cinderella’s golden chariots.
Well VINReport give the whole info about you car. (if you are lazy to not want to know bollocks about it). Well done, simple to use and clear about it.

Love VINReport. I use this many times every week. It’s helpful and it’s free. Easy to access more in-depth information if you need it. Very nice.
Update: this is my first step when looking at any car. Prior listing history, recall check, salvage title. It’s all covered. It has saved me a lot of time trying to pry info out of dealers or private sales.

VINReport seems great. My concern is with the sign-up process. VINReport requires that you provide a phone number for even the most basic subscription level. I can understand providing an email address, but what do they need my phone number for? Maybe I’m old-fashioned, but I still value my privacy and prefer not to give out my phone number unless it’s actually needed. So count me as a non-user for now.

VINReport gives you all the info you could be looking for, that were issued by the manufacturer. Great if you’re buying a used car because very often the current dealer won’t know exactly what features are on your car. There was even some extra info that was helpful that I didn’t realize I’d like to have.

VINReport works very well! It quickly looks up cars by their VIN and gives you just about all the publicly available information there is. Not sure if there is anything they offer for a fee because they haven’t bugged me about it. I’ll go looking for it just because I think the developer deserves it :)

We are shopping right now for a car, and VINReport is fantastic and will put us on equal footing with dealers during negotiations. Best car buying app ever, even list the cars in competition with the ones we are looking at. Great work by the developers. The car’s history is essential!

Just downloaded VINReport and already it's proven FAR superior to the two lame ones I have for years!! The amount of info is astounding. I just purchased used crv but the two apps I have only tell me Year, Make and amt. cyls. If I had VINReport before I'd be able to make a more informed decision. Thank you very much!
PS I'm deleting those two lame apps now.

this is a great app, when it works. I started using VINReport on my phone and I was using it so much I reached my limit so I upgraded my subscription to the unlimited. However it didn’t work and it still charged me monthly. It kept wanting me to sign up for the reports when I’m already paying for them through Apple Pay. Apple did credit me back one of the months that I lost. However, that’s not what I wanted. I actually wanted VINReport to recognize that I’ve already paid and let me continue to use the application.

I have used VINReport twice in the past few years to evaluate used car purchases. If you scroll through the information and read it and evaluate it you can get a cornucopia of info on the car, comparative pricing and mileage information. A real help in evaluating a car. I like VINReport and the companion search app. Give it a try.

If you are planning on looking at cars to buy for yourself or your family, even friends, this is a must-have app. It is amazingly easy to use especially when you can use your phone’s camera to take a picture of the Vin instead of typing in the Vin number yourself.

I came across this website through a forum, and found VINReport in VINReport Store - love the scan feature, gives me all the details I needed and really made me feel confident in buying a used car today off Craigslist.

I like cars and trucks, but there’s so much misleading info from selling sites you can’t get reliable info. However, every since I discovered iSeeCars I get all related information in one application. The site is invaluable for real pricing and comparative info.
