A Soft Murmur Reviews

This is my first time ever writing a review for an app but this is one of my favorite apps ever. The idea behind it is so simple but being able to mix ambient noises together that continuously loop is not only fun but incredibly soothing. I initially started using the sounds to use to focus while working and later i discovered the sleep timer and use it to sleep, but the big thing i wanted to share is that I’ve discovered that the ambient sounds can be paired with music to entirely change the music listening experience. Adding birds and wind to happy music or rain and thunder to dark driving music adds an extra element that you can tailor to your own mood. The album in particular that i tried was geseffelsteins 2019 album “Hyperion”. I listened to it with thunder and rain in the background and the experience was amazing.

ASoftMurmur has helped reduce stress, helped aid sleep and calm my family in many situations. School, work, studying, sleep.. and it goes on. I have sent ASoftMurmur to other family members and they all agree, the simplicity of ASoftMurmur and the 4 main sounds are great! I upgraded to add the rest of the sounds because wanted the fire sound and I’m so glad I did! I know there are more sounds on the PC version but once the creator is ready I’m sure they will be released to the Apple store. Thank you for a sound machine to works offline for travel and for the reasonable upgrade price. Also thank you for the simple features and timer. I will recommend ASoftMurmur to anyone I know.

Very nice quality sounds, super simple interface, helpful for heads down focus work or background noise. I kicked down for the expanded sounds, which really add to the experience, but as another reviewer mentioned, the web app version has more of them. I’m really missing a softer rain on trees sound (the ‘rain’ & ‘white noise’ sounds on ASoftMurmur are too similar to me)

I’ve used ASoftMurmur ever since it came out. I used the web version before that. I’m surprised to see it isn’t more popular. It is so simple yet it’s a tool I use every day. I listen to it while I try to fall asleep. I also use it on trips if there’s a lot of noise around me. One time I had to share a room with a lady who snored so loudly it was as if the rain forest was getting cut down next to me. A Soft Murmur playing through my earbuds saved the day (or should I say night).

Great app for studying, meditating, or falling asleep. The free version only has a few sounds, but they’re very good. I did the in-app purchase to support the developer, not really caring whether I liked the new sounds it unlocked. Turns out I do like them very much. ASoftMurmur is super easy to miss and very functional. I wish the developer would update it once in a while, but I’ve had no problems using it on multiple devices and every version of iOS since iOS 11.

Highly recommended.

While there isn’t a lot of different sounds to pick from with the free app, it’s still great! Being able to pick from 4 ( almost the exact same sounds) is still a nice option instead of just having one. There is also a spot to where you can save your “mixes”. But my favorite part is setting a timer! And not just a 5 minute timer, a 2 hour timer so I can fall asleep to it! Or even an 18 hour timer so I can just keep it going for a whole spay day!

Heard about it from my yoga therapist as she plays it in our sessions. Now I have it at home to recapture peace at home. Only thing is I keep trying to ID the main bird singing in the bird sound, lol. I am now near a beach in front of a crackling fire listening to the birds and the waves. Ahhhh. At least it feels like it. I like that I can move sounds up or down in the the background or foreground level. Thank you for ASoftMurmur.

I would love it if you could add lake shore water lapping and loons on a lake. Ahhhh.

It is worth the in app-purchase! I like how it applies all of the extra sounds. If you can pay for a cup of coffee, you can pay for this. Great for playing mixes and you can play out of ASoftMurmur . Struggling with ADHD and anxiety the custom sound can help me tune into my surroundings just the way I want it to! I would highly recommend; especially for neuroatypical and neurodivergent folks!

I use it with noise cancelling headphones, and there could literally be a party happening somewhere around me, and I’ll still be able to focus on something. I also use it with a Bluetooth speaker at night to put some noise in the background (usually rain + soft thunder) and it really helps me sleep more than if I don’t have that noise in the background.

Yesterday in the middle of the night and I got so bored and was mentally exhausted. I decided to google bored button, a website I go to when I’m bored, then I came across this and instinctively felt relaxed so I went to ASoftMurmur Store and download ASoftMurmur after that I fell straight asleep. And I love how I can make my own relaxing sounds from a peaceful day at the coffee shop to a great storm. The buy is definitely worth it. 🤗

I use ASoftMurmur as to when I want to drown out nosies or just clear my head. My dream is to live in the rain woods. I absolutely love the sound of rain and thunderstorms, they have always brought me peace and serenity. I recommend ASoftMurmur to anyone who also enjoys these sounds. ASoftMurmur design and sleek and easy to use, with no ads it’s is truly one of my favorites.

I have a bunch of ambient tracks stuffed away in an album that I use to sleep with. ASoftMurmur is much quicker to open and get running, and I don't have to think about making sure my repeat settings are set up correctly. One suggestion I would make is to add a running water sound, like a creek/stream. I would absolutely throw down for the in app purchase to unlock that.

I like the upgraded version but noticed my phone offloaded it and when I restored it now I can’t listen to the upgrade noises I like . I paid $2 and don’t really want to pay again because I shouldn’t have to ... can’t figure out how to contact the developer as I don’t see any contact information on the website and there’s no “restore purchase” buttons in ASoftMurmur . Developer please contact me!!! ASoftMurmur deserves 5 stars but I can only give the free version 2 if I can’t restore my purchase

I have been waiting for ASoftMurmur for a long time. Always loved the site (discovered via Imgur)

I would only make one suggestion. While waiting for this iPhone app, I used a different background noise/white noise app and I believe it had "cars passing" sort of noise. That'd be a nice addition!

Still paid to unlock them all though. I don't even care lol

I'm glad the website finally has an app. It makes it that much more convenient for studying. ASoftMurmur version sounds just as good as the website. Although though some sounds are locked in the free version, I am still very happy with it- they were sounds I rarely used anyway. All in all I'm happy

Edit: Now that there's a pause button on the lock screen, I can't play music over it... It's a big inconvenience, but this is still a good app

Edit 2: can the devs please remove the loack screen interface? I really want to listen to both this and music at the same time.

ASoftMurmur is a real life saver. It’s hard to filter out noises for my misophonia, and ASoftMurmur is just perfect for it.

But one issue I have to point out about it, as an extensive user, is that after a long while of playing it, (1-2~ hours) it sounds like it has a lot of reverb, or rather it sounds like it would through a paper towel roll. And can be fixed by simply starting and stopping the track. If this issue can be looked at, that would be fantastic.

I've used this website for months as a way to help me focus on studies. I'm so thankful that ASoftMurmur is finally out. Now when I don't have internet I can still hear the soft murmur. Go ahead and buy the extra sounds, they are worth it. I've been using them so long on the website it was a no brainer.

ASoftMurmur helps me with writing story’s for my family. So I just want to say this is the best app I’ve ever had out of all the others I tried! Thank you for making ASoftMurmur and letting people listen to relaxing sounds. That’s all I have to say! Thank you for listening to this review.

I've been waiting for ASoftMurmur for years, ever since my friend introduced it to me. They didn't have an iOS version yet but I loved using the singing bowl on the website.

Now I would have to pay for it on ASoftMurmur . I'm extremely sad and disappointed. I hope they come up with another way to make money besides charging for the sounds and displaying ads. Here's why, I'll just listen to it on the website and delete ASoftMurmur just like I did today.

To be honest, I thought ASoftMurmur could of been a lot better. There are pretty good sounds, however, you have to pay for them, and I think that's a little too much for trying to fall asleep or relax. This has been the same with all of the apps I get for myself to try to help with fatigue, and I am personally sick of it. I try my best to fall asleep at night with ambient noise, but this is just to much of a pain.
