it's really refreshing

cake as a web browser is super efficient at getting you the information you need as fast as possible. for example, in class, we were assigned certain parts of a book to read. as soon as I entered the pdf version of said book, it came exactly onto the screen as needed without having to hassle through various sites like scribd to find an authentic pdf version. I was extremely pleased with the layout and how easy it was to use CakeWebBrowser . if you're a little technologically challenged, just go to the settings and it will teach you how to manoeuvre you're way through CakeWebBrowser . I thoroughly enjoy this web browser and believe it has a lot of potentials. I haven't come across most issues posted in the reviews so I can't offer much criticism since its such an easy to use browser. aesthetically, its passing. I think CakeWebBrowser is organised and well structured to give it a pleasing look. and aside from everything, I am giving a 5-star rating because the developmental team have been so patient with the populace and hard working on furthering the success of their work. good job guys! you're awesome!

Refreshing Intuitive Browser with Some Gripes

I’ve been using the Cake browser for a few months now and I have to say, it’s an absolute joy to use when it works the way it was intended and that happens a good majority of the time. This core concept of swiping between search results and dedicated search buttons for types of searches cut out some annoying steps in the browsing process and feel totally next level. For all the focus on UI efficiency, there remain two major frustrations that still bug me with Cake, when typing a url, it doesn’t autocomplete based on your search history, and there is no pull down to refresh a page and the button is all the way at the top of your screen. These two things are a weirdly big deal to me.
I’ve also seen some frustrating behavior where some sites just won’t load properly due to what I can only guess is the ad blocking tech. So I haven’t yet been able to switch completely to Cake, I have to keep a backup browser handy just in case.
I find the frustrations and quirks are worth putting up with considering what a refreshing concept it is and I like the idea of a small startup sticking it to the data hungry, big Corp browsers that dominate the scene today. For now, I’m a Cake believer and hope they continue to refine this very novel browsing experience.

Might not seem like it, but GREAT

When I first saw an ad for CakeWebBrowser I ignored it thinking it was probably another one of those rip off search engines that don’t even compare to google (My search engine at the time). A few months later, a new ad popped up and I was pretty bored so I clicked on it. I looked at the very positive reviews and decided to give it a try. I’ve been using it for the past 2 days and it’s AMAZING. Let me tell you, it’s so innovative and awesome for your phone. You can choose whichever search engine you want (Ranging from Google to DuckDuckGo) and can even subscribe to different news media for free. They will pop up on your feed and you can clim on it any time! The web surfing part of CakeWebBrowser is very intuitive and might I say fun. It incorporates elements that social media has like swiping to see the next page. It runs very smoothly and it’s just a great app overall. ( I have not encountered any bugs yet and will update if I do) I totally recommend CakeWebBrowser, even though it might seem a little bit weird at first, just try it; You never know until you try!

It’s The Best, But...

... it’s missing a few organizational features for long term usage, like bookmarks and favorites. That said, CakeWebBrowser does exactly what it is supposed to do, that being browse to find specific or relevant information, images, and videos. It’s much faster and more intuitive for mobile devices than any other browser App, and I would love to see it grow to rival other browsers in its own niche. That said, I think people like me probably won’t be putting it on our home docks until it’s updated to save links without me having to open up the notepad app (or some other browser). My other complaint is that searching by image is not well supported in this browser. Tapping and holding on an image had ought to make an image search an option, or at least open the image in another tab. As it stands, CakeWebBrowser is beautifully well suited to news, porn, and meme searches, but when it comes to saving and organizing what you find, CakeWebBrowser is currently sadly lacking. So close to perfect!

OH👏MY👏GOD👏I👏LOVE👏THIS👏APP👏

I had seen an ad for this before, and was a little intrigued. I never actually got it, but one day... I clicked in a link after I searched something up. Suddenly, I got a pop-up saying “You are the 5 billionth search!” It said that I had to choose a gift and see what I got. Keep in mind I was literally lying in my bed with my phone at 11:30 p.m. I just laughed it off and chose one. I clicked the next buttons to “get my prize” and then... something showed up that read... “You may have been hacked” I had one minute to fix this, and I panicked and closed the tab. I was shaking, wondering what I had just done to my security. I am still mad at Safari for not being more protective. I suddenly remembered about that one ad I saw about Cake. I went and downloaded CakeWebBrowser , and lemme tell ya. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! It actually protects your data, unlike OTHER sites, and I feel secure, not to mention it is SO much easier to use! I would totally recommend this to anyone!

New feature request

First off I really love CakeWebBrowser I came to trust CakeWebBrowser a lot but one thing that worries me is being tracked while I’m using WiFi I red the full description on CakeWebBrowser and I didn’t see anything that talked about leaving no trace behind on WiFi I’m always worried using any browser even safari that I will be tracked being on WiFi so I was wondering if at all possible you developers could work on a feature that a customers WiFi provider or account manager of that router won’t be able to even see what you are looking at in private mode it’s something I have been looking all over in some browsers on CakeWebBrowser Store but I can’t seem to find that on CakeWebBrowser Store if at all possible could you developers possibly take into consideration if you developers could come up with something like that I would be glued to CakeWebBrowser for life but I have to admit I do love the lay out of CakeWebBrowser it’s the best I have seen so far in any of the Apps I have downloaded that’s why I gave it 5 happy stars

Like it

I really enjoy the user interface. It is my favorite browser for my iPhone. I just was wondering if there will be updates to CakeWebBrowser? I would like to be able to make folders and name them. That way I can manage my bookmarks easier. I would just like a little more content, that the other web browsers have. Any tease or anything you can spoil. That you plan on adding in a update? Maybe themes would be cool to. I await to see more features. Thank you for your time. I also thank you in advance. If you can reply, and maybe address/ spoil. What may come in updates.

Edit: Also would like to be able to open things up in new tab/window. I know I can open up a new page, if I click on the button in the corner. I just like to sometimes open things in new tabs then check all the things I’m interested in. Thank you again, I’m confident that you will address these things I mentioned. I would like to make this my default browser.

Great to offer a VPN service but it doesn’t seem to do what it says??

Cake is a very unique and innovative browser for any iPhone user. It has a very clean interface that could easily be utilized by any level user, from total beginner to advanced, with tools and features that would keep both groups satisfied. My only issue is that they offer a device-wide VPN feature that I thought was supposed to stay active as long as I told it to. But ilthat doesn’t seem to be the case. This is really disappointing because I order to access and use the “Premium-fast” VPN connections I opted to purchase a subscription to CakeWebBrowser . Albeit bit very expensive, I would like to get the product I was led to believe I was buying. An “always connected, device-wide VPN for added security when browsing the web and using my internet connected device.” Anytime I check, the VPN is disconnected or is the free version. Why is this the case? No matter what the consolation, it is really unfortunate. Maybe if this is addressed and fixed, I’ll be able to reconsider the two star rating that I’ve had to give this really cool browser app.

Great App! Just needs more features.

I’ve been using this mobile browser for a short time now and I really enjoy using it. There are a few features that I think could make it much better!
1. The white does get a tad boring and plain. Some effort could be added to bring a Dark theme or customizable colors to CakeWebBrowser to make it suit the user better. I love how you can change CakeWebBrowser Icon and the Banner though!!
2. I also often find myself asking Google some very simple questions that are often answered by a short paragraph before all of the links are presented. I also check game scores very often. An awesome way CakeWebBrowser could be improved is finding a way to make the first page that pops up, a summary of whatever you’re researching or looking up online! (unless the user types in an actual link)

These are just some things I think could relate help CakeWebBrowser become an amazing mobile browser worth five stars! I’m sure some of this is already in the making, but great app overall in its early stages!

Really Amazing, but just a couple comments

Before I start, I’m just going to say that this web browser is really good, and that even if what I am about to say never gets responded to, it would be a bummer, but it’s still really a great app.
#1: I really appreciate the functionality and how seamless Cake is, but one area to improve on is the links within websites. Most of them work, but sometimes they will just light up and do nothing. (Side note, this is where the “Open in Safari” button really comes in handy. Thanks for not thinking of Safari as a competitor)
#2 is less of a complaint and more of a suggestion. It would be KILLER if you added Default Browser functionality, because then if I ask Siri a question, then she could respond with results from Cake, or if I open a link in my email, it doesn’t go straight to Safari.
Thanks for reading, and keep up the good work!

Loving it, but......

Hi I’ve been using cake for at least a year now and one of the very reasons I got Cake Web Browser was for more privacy VS what we would normally have to endure with those other money hungry privacy leaching companies. So one of the KEY features that I Love/Loved Cake for was the fact that we could choose the search engine that we wanted to use on Cake, but I’ve come to find that, that setting is gone or been removed and that’s really disappointing. I’m stuck with Yahoo when I wanted to use DuckDuckGo. If something could be done to fix or if it was an intentional removal than if you could please bring the feature back then I will happily change my review to what I wanted to put which is 5 stars I really Love Cake and all that it’s trying to do, but I really miss that one feature :(( If you could let me know what happened or if it’s a bug and how to fix it I’d really appreciate it thank you :) Anyways
I hope you have a wonderful day/night🖤☀️🌙

Empty Before I Met You

I think this application is amazing. It’s very customizable and after a few minutes of familiarizing myself, very easy to grasp and use. They’ve created this new way of browsing which works fast, blocks vexing pop ups/ads, and is so clean and clear looking. It doesn’t feel like a jumble and I don’t think I’ll be making a habit of opening hundreds of tabs at once. That’s an issue I had with Safari and Chrome. You can even customize CakeWebBrowser Icon which is like, what!?
If I had one “room for improvement” advice, it’d be regarding the “Request a Desktop Site” button. I think that should be one of the first things you see when clicking the “...” button at the bottom, but instead you have to sorta dig for it. Most websites aren’t made for mobile view, and I constantly got to click desktop view for best quality. I’d like it to be in a more convenient spot is all.

Glad I Made The Switch

Cake is honestly an awesome mobile browser. I was one of the first to get CakeWebBrowser when it first came out and I don’t think I can ever go back to Safari or Chrome. The interface and design is super user-friendly and generally appealing to the eye, the search features are extremely convenient, and the homepage is really cool. The built-in Rakuten is also a nice touch. CakeWebBrowser is uber-customizable with easy on-off switches in the settings. The obvious appeal is the horizontal swipe search function, which gets to the core of most Google-ing frustration.

I really only have basic suggestions about CakeWebBrowser that would make it even better, rather than critiques or flaws:

1) Built-In VPN: sort of a pipe dream, but Opera has one, so its not unfeasible. They recommend TunnelBear, which is fine, but VPN’s are huge on the market rn and I would kill for one in CakeWebBrowser . Honestly just more integrations in general like the Rakuten would go a long way to making CakeWebBrowser even better.

2) Better ad-block: the ad-block they have built-in right now is decent, but it’s far from ideal. I realize there’s a limit to how effective ad-block can be on a mobile browser, but improving the current one would majorly improve user experience.

3) History Search function: this is really the only thing I miss about Google Chrome. I use the Internet a lot, and sometimes I forget exactly what webpage I went to at what time. Help me out here, Cake!

Favorite browser! But...

First of all I have to say how impressed I am with this unique browser. The ability to swipe through pages really streamlines the searching experience. I love the recent updates to the home page as well. However, there is one unfortunate problem I’ve been running into. I’ve been using Cake for quite some time now, however when I switched to the iPhone XR, a very intrusive bug caused CakeWebBrowser to be tedious to use. Whenever I reach the bottom of a page, CakeWebBrowser closes. At first, my assumption was that this was related to the XR’s home button mechanics, but realized that CakeWebBrowser crashes regardless of where you are touching the screen to scroll. So I’m not accidentally exiting CakeWebBrowser :) , it is actually crashing. Although it hasn’t stopped me from using Cake rather than Safari, it is very annoying. I would just delete it, but I truly do prefer this browser and am a huge fan of its features. Hopefully this bug is squashed soon!

pretty good browser, a few glitches though

I downloaded cake since it has gotten to where chrome does not work on my iphone 7 and I don’t like safari. I like how you can swipe to look at searches quickly instead of having to scroll if you’re wanting to look something up quick or find a wiki quickly. I don’t like how it shows a bunch of random news stories and popular searches but I got rid of most of it in settings. that’s just my personal preference though. the only thing I’m noticing is that sometimes when I type out a search and try to click on the website it won’t load it and I have to type like 10 times before it registers. my phone screen has been protected since I bought it and thankfully no bad drops so I know my screen is pretty responsive, so hopefully it’s just a glitch that gets fixed. other than that I like it and I’m really pleased with it so far!

Awesome, awesome browser

I downloaded cake a while back because I wanted to try a new browser besides safari/chrome. I’ve gotta say I’m pretty happy I did, it wasn’t long before it had a spot in my iPhone’s dock. Not only does the browser work really well for a phone - I usually can get to the info I’m looking for more quickly and easily - but the dev’s and designers behind CakeWebBrowser do a tremendous job off pushing out updates that increase the speed of CakeWebBrowser and really improve the experience of it. I find it funny that I’ll go to update my apps and most say *bug fixes* but cake just drops some new lists of features I didn’t know I wanted (thanks for the rss guys, it’s great!). Honestly the cake team is probably the only team that really cares about making and constantly improving mobile browsing to make it easier and more fun. You should for sure give it a shot.

Nice, but won’t be better than safari unless more features are added

This is great, and I love the swiping, and the ad blocking makes navigating the web SO much easier so thank god for that, but there are some features missing that make me want to use safari. The main one being that I can’t use duck duck go. It might just be a bug but for some reason I can’t. Other problems being: no import bookmarks feature, page loading is sometimes too slow to be useful, no iPad support (I know you guys are first gonna perfect it then move to other devices but it’s still annoying), the settings feeling limited when there could be so much more customizability, and for some reason nothing shows up on the today view. Not that I really have a problem with this as I don’t really need a today view but still it would be nice to have. If you can add those features and polish CakeWebBrowser a little bit it will be replacing safari.

GREAT, BUT THE LOADING SPEED...

I must admit, Cake it great! It is easy, convenient, and simple to use. I love the swipe feature, and it’s great not having to scroll through and click on every single link to find a result. I love the settings icon where you can view your saved passwords and filter out different website categories. However, I do have a few complaints about the loading speed. I have great internet, and my data is turned on all the time for Cake, and I have unlimited. But, still the loading speed when I swipe still takes some time. I find myself having to refresh every other time I swipe. I am not sure if this is just me, but if others are experiencing this, it would be great if this could be fixed. Overall Cake is a great app and I would recommend it to anyone. Thank you!

Protection yes. Easy to use? No.

I’ve been using Cake for a while now and find it annoying. It’s not like other browsers where you can use the back button. What happens is you do a search and tap on a page and sift through it. Hitting the back button results in swiping to another search result instead of the page you visited before. Do it too much and the browser locks up and says you’ve used too many redirects even if you’ve opened a new page for another search. The VPN is easy to use however. There is also no edit in which you can edit your Cake browser to do as you are used to meaning, if you’re used to hitting the back button to go to the previous page you visited, you can’t edit it to act that way. You just end up going to the previous search result even though it lists sites above for that search result. It’s rather annoying. I’m removing and using another browser.

Here me out here

See, CakeWebBrowser works as intended, but my problem with this browser compared to others is that when you try to search something up, instead of it showing you the options, and maybe even showing you the answer right then and there, you have to cycle through all these web pages only to find out that you don’t find it until you read into the article. I do not know how the system works, (probably a most-relevant system), but it does not work. I would rather see my options and choose the one that fits my search, not have to search up something and cycle through all these options that do not relate at all to my search. Say I searched up “Brooklyn Nets basketball schedule”, (something I tried to search up on CakeWebBrowser ), and the first 4 things to come up weren’t even about the Nets, yes, they were about basketball, but not specifically what I wanted.

TL:DR CakeWebBrowser works the way it is shown , but is not a good search tool that replaces chrome/safari/etc.

It’s okay...

Cake does what it says on the tin, and not much more. It’s competent, and doesn’t seem to have many issues, but neither does it have any frills that scream “you want to use me over Chrome or Safari.” I don’t know what I expected; when one of your most touted features is the ability to change CakeWebBrowser icon between several color schemes of the same logo, there must not be a whole lot going for you.

Why the low score, then? No iPad support. I was actually looking forward to using the search setup on my iPad Pro, installed the software, and then saw that hideous vertical-only orientation and funky “fake iPhone” screen keyboard, and noped on out of there.

Maybe if they make some tweaks (like single tap on a search result, it adds to the banner up top, rather than having ALL search results up there by default; that causes unnecessary swiping if what you want didn’t come up in the top 10) and make it iPad native as well, it might be decent... but as is, Chrome is still my default.

Incredible app but needs bookmark folders

This is without a doubt the best browser ever created except for the lack of folders for bookmarks. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5. I don’t understand anyone saying it is slow. Not on my phone. I timed the time that it takes in Safari and Chrome to go back to the search results, click the next option, and wait for the page to load. With Cake, one swipe and it is there. But without bookmark folders, it is basically unusable for me personally at this point in its development. I am a school teacher, and I have to be able to organize results of searches between various folders. Having one long list of bookmarks for a guy that generally has hundreds is just not a viable option. I will have to contribute using Safari and Chrome for now but will be anxiously waiting to see if that is added. Great job team. Very well done so far.

Great app but not perfect... yet

CakeWebBrowser is great. It really is optimized for phones and makes it way easier to search what your looking for. What makes it not perfect is it feels very slow at times, ESPECIALLY SWITCHING TABS!! Sometimes it feels like an eternity clicking that tab button and waiting for my others tabs to show. Also, I thinking it would be really great to add that Ecosia web browser, you know to plant those trees! I also really love the feature of private tabs disappearing after 3 minutes of a closed app. It’s really been a life saver if you know what I mean. CakeWebBrowser really does feel phone exclusive, but not enough. I really don’t know how it could be done but I know y’all developers can figure something out. I really like CakeWebBrowser but I can see other people not liking it, so I suggest a feature that would really sell it to others! All in all, great app!
