Cake is a very unique and innovative browser for any iPhone user. It has a very clean interface that could easily be utilized by any level user, from total beginner to advanced, with tools and features that would keep both groups satisfied. My only issue is that they offer a device-wide VPN feature that I thought was supposed to stay active as long as I told it to. But ilthat doesn’t seem to be the case. This is really disappointing because I order to access and use the “Premium-fast” VPN connections I opted to purchase a subscription to the app. Albeit bit very expensive, I would like to get the product I was led to believe I was buying. An “always connected, device-wide VPN for added security when browsing the web and using my internet connected device.” Anytime I check, the VPN is disconnected or is the free version. Why is this the case? No matter what the consolation, it is really unfortunate. Maybe if this is addressed and fixed, I’ll be able to reconsider the two star rating that I’ve had to give this really cool browser app.

See, this app works as intended, but my problem with this browser compared to others is that when you try to search something up, instead of it showing you the options, and maybe even showing you the answer right then and there, you have to cycle through all these web pages only to find out that you don’t find it until you read into the article. I do not know how the system works, (probably a most-relevant system), but it does not work. I would rather see my options and choose the one that fits my search, not have to search up something and cycle through all these options that do not relate at all to my search. Say I searched up “Brooklyn Nets basketball schedule”, (something I tried to search up on the app), and the first 4 things to come up weren’t even about the Nets, yes, they were about basketball, but not specifically what I wanted. TL:DR The app works the way it is shown , but is not a good search tool that replaces chrome/safari/etc.

This is great, and I love the swiping, and the ad blocking makes navigating the web SO much easier so thank god for that, but there are some features missing that make me want to use safari. The main one being that I can’t use duck duck go. It might just be a bug but for some reason I can’t. Other problems being: no import bookmarks feature, page loading is sometimes too slow to be useful, no iPad support (I know you guys are first gonna perfect it then move to other devices but it’s still annoying), the settings feeling limited when there could be so much more customizability, and for some reason nothing shows up on the today view. Not that I really have a problem with this as I don’t really need a today view but still it would be nice to have. If you can add those features and polish the app a little bit it will be replacing safari.
