I bought the app yesterday and was pretty disappointed in the large number of “no image yet “. I would expect them to at least have a sketch if they don’t have an image. Thinking that they should have told me upfront how many plants had 1 or more images and how many had none. Otherwise it looks like it will be a pretty nice App once they complete it. As someone who has only been getting into native plants in the last few years, I find this reference at my fingertips an amazing resource. It is well worth the money! As someone who is not formally trained in botany but wants to learn as much as I can, having a glossary button from individual species pages (like there is a ruler button on the side) would be amazingly helpful. Right now it’s a pain to remember the word I don’t know, back all the way out to the main menu, navigate to the glossary and look up the definition, and then search for the plant all over again. Some pages I may need to look up 10 words in the glossary so imagine how easy it would be to only hit the glossary button once and then close it and still be on the species page.

The textual content, being that of the book Flora of Virginia, is quite good. With the addition of the dichotomous keys, this app becomes a phenomenally useful resource for anyone identifying plants in and around Virginia.
The presentation of the content could use some polishing, but it generally doesn’t eclipse the app’s unmatched usefulness for the area.
