iNote has been amazing - I’ve had it for about 6+ years and I love that I can keep everything in one place and also have iCloud backup so if I get a new phone or have to factory reset my phone I can choose the last backup and everything is still there. Unfortunately now the font has been changed to white and there’s no settings to change the font and it’s hard to see all of the notes you’ve written. You can’t even select certain text anymore. You have to copy the entire thing (if it even lets you) and end up cutting the most important thing you needed in messages. Currently looking for another app now but I hope the next update is better.
I usually do not do reviews. However, if planning to download iNote PLEASE BEWARE! I have tried to contact the developer by app support (sends me to Facebook), I have submitted a couple of messages, emails and NO RESPONSE. I have been using iNote for many years (PREMIUM MODE) and it was my to-go app for everything! As such, I was expecting help from the creators to be able to access all my notes, and yet no response/no help. I have tried everything, the backup instructions are useless; nothing works. Maybe through here the developers might acknowledge the need to assist their clients and maintaining iNote up to date. PLEASE HELP! I need to regain access to all my notes. Your prompt response and assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Out of the blue, after you create a color label, by the way till this point the text font still black, when you go back and open the label to read your notes, the text font has turned chalk white, making it almost near to impossible to read. When I tried to fix this in settings, there is not a section to change text font colors. I reached out on their support that they only offer in FB and it’s useless, I sent them a message which has gone completely ignored. Very disappointing, now, I can’t read my color labeled notes text.
The this app app is an mediocre notes app with some bugs. It crashes if you try to rearrange a large checklist and at other random times. It can be slow to load. The reminder prompt doesn’t show up when it’s supposed to.
My biggest issue is that the import notes feature is awful. You have to email the file to yourself, and hope that it captured everything. It’s difficult to tell if your import actually worked. I thought I had lost years of notes when I switched to a new phone. Thankfully it turned out that one of the auto backups had captured it, which I discovered about a week later.
When I contacted the developer about my lost notes, I got no reply. It’s been about a month and I am not expecting one. It was the same when I had another issue with importing notes from a previous phone - this app duplicated all of my notes (twice) and I had to go through and manually delete all of the duplicates. Again, no response from the developer. They don’t care. Do yourself a favor and get a better app. I would stick with Apple’s notes app exclusively if I were to start again. Sure it doesn’t have color categories, but the backups actually work correctly and it’s not a buggy mess with no support.
Would not recommend iNote. They haven’t updated in a year. No customer service response and in recent years with my high volume of notes it freezes and crashes SO much. No other app like it unfortunately, but I’ll just have to make do with OneNote with Microsoft (and Apple Notes) since I know they update their apps and have quality products. I’ve transferred my notes from one phone to another, but now, with my latest phone I have not been able to. Soo many useful things I wrote down and kept track of. Very disappointed and trying to manually add over 3K notes but I know I won’t get them all unfortunately. I can’t even email them anymore and no way to retrieve it from my iCloud backup smh. Super sad but ah well, all good things come to an end I guess
iNote does what it’s supposed to, but no matter how you try to change settings—a recent update has made the text all white and really hard to see against the background. Also if you have a checklist, when you try to type something new into it the background turns black and the font you type with is also black so you can’t see what you’re typing until after you save it. Then you have to reopen it to edit if it’s misspelled. I noticed some other reviewers commented on this recent change too. Hopefully they will update it again to fix this issue. Otherwise I like the color coding and it’s an easy app to use.
I really like iNote for the use of colors to help distinguish notes from one another.
What I don’t like is that you can only edit ‘forward’ and only one edit per entry of a particular note. For example, if I notice where I left a word out or I want to add something, I touch where I want it to go. If the cursor lands in the middle of a word rather than at the end or on the wrong line , I have to exit the note and retry. I cannot move the cursor with another touch on the screen. If I’m editing something and notice something else that needs editing, again I have to exit the note and re-enter to do so. This I find very tedious.
This was such an easy app to use… I would make notes, set reminders, checklists… super easy to use… UNTIL recently… you can’t change the font color and now it’s a white font (which you can’t see if you prefer the dark setting on phone, which I do) in order to see what you’re typing you have to change the phone setting to bright… AND the reminder calendar is not as easy to use as it was before. If things don’t get updated soon I might have to try another app. It’s unfortunate, it was one of my favorites
To me, the reason for the sticky notes is so I can add them to my Home Screen. I need things like “To-Do” lists right in my face. If I’m going to have to go to iNote to find the note, I might as well just stick with the Notes app on the iPhone.. This reason is why I will likely be deleting iNote as it is most important to me. Aside from that, it’s great. Being OCD with notes, the color coding (with more than just the basic blue, pink, & yellow) is wonderful; and the ability to add pics is also cool. Please let me know if you decide to make it a widget. Would definitely re download!
8/6/21 - My phone (iPhone 11) updated iNote about 6 days ago and all the font is white so I can no longer see my lists since it’s so light! I played with the settings and there is nothing to fix this within iNote . I can not read any of my text now and it’s horrible because I literally use iNote every single day! Other than this recent update I love iNote . …. Minus the adds, but I get the free version so I can’t complain about that I guess. Please fix the white font issue or I will be forced delete iNote and to try a new one.
I used to always keep my iPhone in dark mode and never had a problem with iNote. Recently everything changed to where I couldn’t read anything because the characters in iNote were so light that nothing could be read. So after a while playing with my phone I put my IPhone in light mode and was able to clearly read everything again. This same issue happened to my wife’s iPhone. I prefer to keep my iPhone in dark mode but iNote is inconvenient in dark mode.
This was a good app...when it worked! I’ve had it for a while and worked fine but now it will not stay open and crashes. I deleted and downloaded iNote again but then you cannot download the notes back in iNote even though they are supposedly saved in iCloud.
It puts you in an endless loop. I’ve tried to contact the developer for help but no response. I also noticed it has not been updated in a year which could be part of the problem. I wouldn’t pay for iNote now or use it if you have notes you want to keep!
I love iNote it’s exactly what I was looking forI’ve taking notes for meeting, grocery list, shopping list etc but I’m not sure if the recent update has made things a little off but my text has been turned from black print to white making things hard to read and I've always have had problems creating new notes pleas fix cause I really don’t want to find a new app
Newest version 5.1 has font issue within notes while using Iphone IOS in Dark Theme vs Factory Light theme. Text font color (In Dark Theme) is white on already light color this app back-round colors making it very difficult to see in daylight or any lighted room. App never changed color of text before most recent update and there is no option in the menu to change font color to white or black. Hopefully this problem was detailed enough and can be duplicated on your and worked out in the future. Thank you guys.
I love iNote. My whole life is in it, from doctor’s appointments to all the various lists I rely upon to successfully complete my day. Recently there was a snag in the appearance (or lack thereof) of the font which brought on an outcry of negative reviews…even from me. I felt compelled to write a new review since our feedback was considered and the problem with the font was corrected. I didn’t know how much I love iNote until it wasn’t functioning properly and I greatly appreciate whoever got this problem resolved so we can all get back to normal again:).
I have been using iNote for many years but now I’m having the same issues as everyone else with the dark mode. Light text on light background making it very difficult to see. Hopefully it’s a quick fix with another update or add a setting change for font color and/or background color!! Thanks!!!
Update: Font and color issues have been fixed and it’s working great again. iNote is definitely a life saver for me! Thanks for fixing this so quickly!
I can never really find iNote that will really satisfy all of my needs. With iNote not only can you see everything that you have written down but you can also lock things that you don’t want others to see. I haven’t really use all of the materials yet but the thing that I like most is that as soon as I was done doing what I had to do on iNote then they ask for my review, most apps like to ask for the review as soon as you make your way inside of iNote . Another thing that I really enjoy about iNote is that the colors are really vibrant and pretty. You don’t usually get to have certain colors on your apps and when you do sometimes they cost money like I said I haven’t fully use iNote or not so I don’t know what cost money and what does it. So far this apps looks amazing to me and I think that you should really use it
So glad the last update fixed the color issue that made it to where you couldn’t read the lists. I tried five different notes apps while waiting for the update and none of them came anywhere close to being as good as iNote. I’ve had it for years and will continue using it for years to come.
I make my grocery list using iNote. Since it’s on my phone, it’s always handy when I notice something is getting low. Just before I go shopping, I reorganize the items. I like that you can move them around depending on where they might be stocked in the store.
I also use it to keep list of my husband’s and my prescriptions. Saves trying to remember them (and their dosages) when asked in the doctor’s office.
When I hear someone talking about a tv series or movie they like, I have a list going on my phone. Then when I’m bored and looking for something new to watch, i have some suggestions.
I’m sure there are other uses, but these are a few I’ve found that I use it for.
I've tried a lot of the sticky apps and most disappoint. I like this one. It has a widget and will display ALOT of stickies on the notification center. It's also easy to use. I paid for the full version because I dislike the super-distracting ads. Plus, if you bought real stickies they're just as expensive if not more expensive. I would like for each sticky to be larger and have space for more text.
