Far From Perfect but Still the Best

When paired with the Anglr Bullseye, this is the best app for logging fish. I use it every time I fish and, for the most part, it lets me log catches without getting in my way. That being said, it’s far from perfect.

Data analysis is truly dismal compared to other logging apps. It crashes at least once per trip. The Bullseye doesn’t always connect. You can’t really enter past trips or catches because it won’t save changes you make to the date. The BackTrack function is awful at identifying pictures with fish in it. It’s awkward to use if your using two rods. And in some cases the virtual tackle box is limiting (it lets you enter the bait you're using, but you have to make a separate entry each time you put that bait on a different rig).

It’s good for showing where you catch fish. But it won’t show you where you don’t; and seeing where your wasting your time is crucial information. If you don’t mind finding trends yourself, then this is a fine app. I use the data points to make concentration maps for ponds and river banks. But it would be really nice if it did something with all the data it collects, rather than just mindlessly present it to you.

It’s great as a trophy case, but falls short if your trying to step up your game. That being said, what it lacks in functionality, it makes up for in potential.

All in one fishing app that keeps getting better

First thing I’d like to mention is how much FishingApp improves EVERY month. They are constantly making it better. With that said, FishingApp isn’t perfect, but it’s the closest I’ve found to the type of fishing app I’ve always dreamed of. It’s all my fishing in one place. Unlike other apps, ANGLR uses my personal data to help me improve. It makes tracking my fishing simple and easy by bringing in water and weather conditions automatically when I log catches. Their waypoint management features are incredible. You have to check it out on web. I can explore new lakes I want to fish and drop waypoints on FishingApp and plan my attack before I go. After I record my day on the water, I can quickly pull up and edit catches, and review my trips. Every trip gets its own profile. The conditions tab is money! You can quickly see patterns and trends for next time. I don’t use the tackle feature much. Just jot down in notes on catches. I am planning on grabbing one of the Bullseye trackers to make it even more convenient to use app on the water. Overall, love FishingApp and can’t wait to see what the next release improves.

Awesome Fishing AND Hunting Tool!

Just wanted to say how much I enjoy Anglr and how I use it to scout duck holes. I live along the Tennessee River (Lake Guntersville). We have several Wildlife Management Areas that are popular among duck hunters; however, there are hundreds of WMA wetland acres inaccessible by duck boats. I’m an old school duck hunter, meaning I love to scout duck holes by foot if at all possible. I feel as if there is less of an impact on the ecosystem by doing so.

I feel it unnecessary to need a hand held GPS system with today’s technology as everything I need is available through my cell phone and the Anglr App/Bullseye system. The beauty of the Anglr system is its simplicity. I simply start Fish Mode and input waypoints as needed. My course (log book) is automatically saved and I can go back to review my logs at any time. I find the “Play” function for each trip log entertaining as I can review exactly where I walked during my scouting trip.

This system is money well spent! Thanks!

Great app, but could be improved

Currently this is the best app I have found when it comes to logging fishing info. I love having all my past trips in a single place and have no complaints with the ease of logging this info . The problem is, when you accumulate a lot of info, it’s not easy to review. Scrolling through 2 years worth of fishing trips trying to determine where I caught them in a particular month / location is difficult. The ability to easily sort past trips by location, time, trip name, etc would be extremely helpful. The entire point of recording this info is to be able to look back and review. If they could implement a way to sort this info as mentioned it would 5 stars from me.

The App for the serious AnglR

The best and ONLY app for fisherman. If you want to seamlessly log information about your day, weather information, barometric pressure, wind speed/direction, specific spots and even fish catches…… WITHOUT continually removing your phone from your pocket/storage then look no further. This company offers AnglR Tracker which is a very advanced sensor that goes on your rod that logs all of this information for you. You then can use their Web Experience App to view all of this information on your computer/iPad etc. to analyze your day and your time on the water to make better decisions for the next day on the water. Additionally…… after time using this, you can have ALL of your fishing information over a few days, weeks to a lifetime of fishing information in ONE place. A must have for the serious AnglR. Oh yeah… and they keep your information private

Password Issues (Resolved)

Downloaded FishingApp and created an account. Forgot my password and have not been able to get the reset password function to work. So FishingApp is no longer available to use.
Updated...
After contacting support I was able to reset my password and start using FishingApp . It is an ok app. It is nice to be able to go back and see where you caught fish. If you spend some time setting FishingApp up you can also track what you used to catch the fish. I also purchased the bullseye button. It is also ok. You can mark a catch or way point without going to the phone. But if you want to indicate size, species or lure info you still need to use the phone to input that info. Unfortunately I fish from a kayak and don’t have access to an iPhone charger. FishingApp eats up the battery of my iPhone 7 at a pretty fast rate. I may get 2 hours of tracking time. Not much more. Definitely not going to track a full day of fishing.

Good way to log catches

I really like how I can log my catches by species and location. Fairly easy to mark them in, but it can be a little cumbersome if you want to enter a lot of information. I would like to see a way to have a limited list(s) of fish to log. Right now every possible species is there. It would be much easier to have a way to use a limited number of fish for a trip. Also a way to use a certain lure (toggle on or off) as a default for your next fish. I use the same fly for a while if I’m catching. Why should I have to search for it each fish? Also it would be great to have a way to export the catch log to a spreadsheet

Love it

I absolutely love FishingApp, I can scan through my trips and see where I caught the fish, what I used on that day, and the weather conditions of the day I caught the fish. Absolutely awesome! The one thing I would like to ask, if the creators ever see this. I would really like a function to where I could add notes to the fish trip. I know you can add them when you go to the individual catches but I would really like a place to write a note about the trip whenever looking through my log book. It would really be a nice touch to add to FishingApp . Either way with or without that feature I still absolutely love FishingApp !

Unstable! Cool Idea, Poor Execution

The idea of FishingApp is really neat, and I’d really like it to work. However, I have been unable to ever use FishingApp successfully for a complete fishing trip. FishingApp crashes and force closes ALL THE TIME. Some of the other bugs I’ve experienced- half way through a fishing trip it will no longer allow you to enter catches, the button is greyed-out (disabled) so you can’t click it. The only thing you can do is stop the trip. Or what just happened to me last night, the GPS stopped recording after my first catch. So I can’t see on FishingApp where I fished after that first catch, the map makes it looks like I basically sat in the same spot as my first catch for the entire trip. Pretty glad I didn’t pay for premium…

Good so far

FishingApp is good so far. It’s winter time here so I will have to wait and see if it’s as good as Fish Angler. I did try and use the software for FishingApp to find my old fishing pictures so that I could upload old fishing trips. However, that does not work. It says it easily finds fish photos. Well, you can’t get any easier than the pictures I take of fish. So I’m not sure why it can’t identify them. There isn’t a way to manually upload old photos and that’s a big negative, especially when I’m not actively fishing for another 3 months.

Want to Catch More Fish?

FishingApp is MUCH more than some simple social media app for anglers to brag about their catches. This is an actual functional tool that will help you get more fish in the boat. Learn why, how and where you’re catching fish, overlay those onto conditions data, and then paint a clear picture of what patterns are effective and when over the long term. Then plan future trips accordingly. It’s easy to use, extremely robust and it has become the only planning tool I need. As a professional angler whose livelihood relies on catching fish, ANGLR has become invaluable to me.

Grab a Bullseye, too. It’s worth the dough.

The Fish App I’ve Been Looking For!

This is the fish app to end all other fish apps. While looking for an app to tracked all my data while fishing I tried all the other fishing apps and they’ve been a HUGE disappointment.

If you’re looking for an app that you can brag about your catches and give away your locations this isn’t for you. If you want to log your trips and get weather, catch and map areas when/where you fish and keep it to yourself then you’ll love FishingApp.

FishingApp is:

- Easy to use
- Intuitive
- Packed with genius features
- Covers everything

I hope the ANGLR team continues to improve this. They literally thought of everything on this one.

I purchased the Bullseye device to complement FishingApp . Not sure what happened to the tracker device that mounts to your rod but that would’ve probably been sweet if it was still available.

Stop wasting time with other silly apps. Get this one!!

So easy to use

Anglr makes it so easy to track the fish you catch and the gear you use. I’d recommend this to any level of angler. When a customer suggests new features, they respond back and get to work on it. You can’t say that for many other apps out there. They created an app that isn’t blocked by a bunch of paywalls and greed. They truly want people to enjoy fishing and make it easier to improve upon their tactics and tackle. Keep up the great work Anglr, I can’t wait to see what the future holds for your company and team.

Every angler needs

As an angler this by far is the most useful app for tracking information on fish and fishing trips.
From a bass boat or beating the banks, the amount of information for waypoints to tracking your catches is almost endless. Never again having to hand write things you see, the weather, or log catches. You can do it straight from FishingApp .
And the useful tips and stories from profit, you continuously learning new things to help you catch more fish.
I highly..HIGHLY recommend downloading FishingApp and see for yourself. AND ITS FREE!!!!
It’s a must have.

Great tool

I got FishingApp early and was hesitant about it at first. But the updates have been consistent and constantly for the better. I pair a bullseye button with my app and it worked great for a short period of time. I think my button was faulty as it always seemed to disconnect or act up. Anglr replaced the button for free of charge. Only reason I’m not giving it a full five stars is because of some of the requirements to run FishingApp . On remote river floats I have noticed you will stop recording if the cellular service drops

Cannot Edit Enough Post Trip

I love the detail and potential of FishingApp but it’s falling short for me. You cannot edit water details manually and you cannot edit them after a trip is complete. You have to select a USGS gauge pre-trip and that data is not always accurate for the water you are fishing not does it always contain water temperature.

I have also yet to be able to populate the ‘Gear’ details for a catch. In my opinion this should easily be done after the trip is complete but you cannot do this. I’ve been populating the ‘Notes’ section with water temp and gear information but this data does not play into the overall stats that are tracked so it’s not very useful there.

Getting better all the time!!!

Hello, just wanted to take a second to write a quick review. I just started using FishingApp because I was looking for a way to track everything! FishingApp will be great for doing this. I have to say it wasn’t the most user friendly adding tackle to FishingApp . I did send an email to customer support to let them know my ideas! I have never had a company so prompt in their response! They are always working to make FishingApp better, the customer support is bar none!!!!

Great little helper

App is very helpful for tracking and recording your fishing activities. It shows and records routes taken, fish caught, as well as honey holes located. The optional button makes recording these activities with a simple press of the button without having to access your device. Sure beats the old paper and pen or in my case your memory. You are always able to see where you at on the body of water you are on. No serious fisherman should leave home without this fishing buddy.

Great Customer Service if needed

Changed my review from 1 star to 5 stars due to customer service getting back to me and taking care of the issue. I was a little impatient and didn’t realize they are not open over the weekend. They got back to me first thing Monday morning. Great app to keep track of all your fishing trends, especially if you compete in tournaments and want to be able to remember important info or see the trends in your area.

No contour maps for inland lakes on Pro version?

Just upgraded to the Pro version after about 2 years of the standard level subscription (which I love). However, I upgraded because per the website, I was under the impression that inland lakes (US) would have a contour map layer. It doesn’t not, at least that I can find. So basically, I just upgraded to Pro for no reason….

Great app

Makes it so easy to log your trip and catches. It automatically reports weather and water conditions. You set up your tackle box and FishingApp allows you to track what you caught and what tackle you used. GPS capability allows you to see exactly where you were fishing and allows you to mark where you made your catch. You can also mark honey holes, waypoints whatever you want. Allows you to see where you caught fish before so you can get back to that exact spot. Great app!!

The perfect marriage of technology and the Hookset.

This software has made a big impact on how I organize the information I log while on the water. Time is very valuable so I don’t care to waste it on the water, with this technology even the days I’m fishing instead of catching I’m able to learn from the information logged here. It’s gonna take a few trips for you to learn it but once you do it will become something you won’t be on the water without.

Needs more but a great start

Just from downloading it and setting everything up this looks like the start to a great app and a great companion on the water. I kayak fish a lot so being able to log my trips is going to be great. My biggest complaint is the lack of company's listed for rods reels and baits. Everything listed is fresh water or fly fishing i would definitely rate FishingApp 5 stars if they gave an option to enter your own brand of rod and reel. I fish almost exclusively penn rods and reels and penn is not even an Option to select. I hope this is addressed in an update soon.

Latest Version Problem

First, I like FishingApp. I liked it so much that I went out and bought the Tracker and use it all the time - EXCEPT NOW!! For some reason the latest version of FishingApp (released 6 days ago) will not open on my iPhone. Yes, I’m running the current iOS. Yes, I’m a subscriber.

I’m going salmon fishing tomorrow morning and was opening Anglr to setup a new trip. But NOooooo.... I guess I’ll just have to leave my expensive Tracker at home. Oh... and for the love of Pete: someone over there add an entry for surf perch! It’s the most common saltwater fare fished for along the beaches of Oregon and Washington (and probably CA, but they don’t count j/k).

Been waiting for this!

I’ve been wanting an app that tracks all my trip details, without adding complexity and frustration to my logging, and FishingApp does just that.
They have found a way to capture everything I could possibly want from my trip in a simple and convenient manner - and the Bullseye makes it even better! If you don’t have one, you need to buy one.

Awesome app for fishermen

Been a lifelong fisherman that has always tracked locations, waypoints, conditions, etc manually. This application just lets me fish while tracking my trip coordinates and much of the trip data for me automatically in the background. Picked up a Bullseye, and now I can mark my catches and pins without taking my phone out on the water. Looking forward to seeing what these guys do next!

Doesn’t work for me.

First I had high expectations of being able to record my fishing trips. I have had issues from the start. 😕.

I may not have setup correctly or something. It won’t end a trip stAys running even after responding to the confirm end trip with yes.

I bought my the 30$ Bulls eye. It will mark things
But FishingApp doesn’t find water at the lake. Fonds three at my house at a small river but not what where there are lakes on the same rivers.

I started several trips to test. Then go and delete them. Go back later and they are still there.

So I have deleted FishingApp and will re-install and start over. I hope I can get it to work.

Update: reinstalled and starting over. Was able to start and stop a trip but for ably a few minutes. Will see how it goes after a longer trip. At a real lake where I live.

I will up date the rating then. I really want FishingApp to work v

Ordered the Anglr Bullseye from Tackle Warehouse. Received it about a week later. It only had a 26% battery left. It states that it has a 2 year non-chargeable battery life. I bought that to the vendors attention. They suggested I contact the manufacturer, which I tried to. It's been over 2 weeks without a response. Now EVERYONE is out of stock. I guess with crappy customer service they went out of business. Any insight will be helpful. A fat 0 stars rating from me.
