Great app - one major glitch

I’ve been using the free version, which has all the features I need at the moment. Thanks! I’m sure I will need the paid / premium version at some point :)

The one huge glitch is that SnugSafety apparently does not recognize a change in the time zone. I live on the West Coast but went to Hawai’i to house sit for two months. I verified within SnugSafety that the time zone was changed to HST and was no longer set on PST. I left the check-in time limit set at 10:00 every morning. However, SnugSafety began notifying me three hours too early at 4 a.m. that it was time to check in. At 6 a few mornings I got the warning message asking me if I was OK. And then one morning I slept late and it called my contacts at 7 a.m. It is three hours earlier in Hawai’i. SnugSafety does not recognize changes in the time zone - even when set to a new time zone. I did send screenshots of this issue to SNUG support but did not receive a resolution. Maybe in the next update?

Great app, but needs some simple fixes

SnugSafety is wonderful, easy to use, provides a wonderful service, and it is totally adorable — just really pleasant to use. The one problem is: I cannot find any way to turn it off. I downloaded it just to see how it worked; I will need it soon, but for the immediate moment I don’t. But once it’s active, you can’t turn it off without deleting it or setting a vacation timer for some arbitrary date 10-20 years in the future.

So really, all it needs is the ability for you to pause or turn it off. Do that, and this would be perfect for all people who live alone and are afraid of facing a medical emergency.

Snug Safety Check-in Daily

I have been using Snug since my new senior housing facility did not have much of an emergency 🆘, and inquired on Google for something to fit the bill so to speak. I found SnugSafety on the Apple App Store and felt it would handle what I was concerned about. ‘Let me tell you, it does’. I one time forgot (in the beginning) to check in (I have the premium service @ $99/yr), and I have my brother listed as a Contact person. They called him, he called me, they called me, would call 911 shortly if I didnt respond NOW! My Time Limit was set at 12 Noon, I reported in at 12:02pm. So, I now have changed from 00:01-11:59am to check in daily, to 00:01-13:30, or 12:01am to 1:30pm daily. I now check in mostly mid mornings.
It’s good to have, works in all of contiguous 48 states, where ever your cell phone is located. BTW, age 84 and now a widower.

Loving it

I live alone and my love ones are a distance away from me. I don’t drive and I feel so isolated. If something were to happen to me who would know? The snug app gives me a chance to prove I’m alive. The response makes me feel as though someone is watching out for me and watching for my signal. It is indeed reassuring. My mood is so much better just from having SnugSafety. I love it. My family loves it as well. They have a chaotic schedule (to me) and tell me how reassured they are about my safety and condition. Thanks Snug.

Can’t live without it

I’m a single woman and my family lives an hour or more away. I started a work from home position two years ago and realized that without being in the office everyday, nobody sees me. What if something happens? I could go days without anyone noticing if something was wrong. SnugSafety is just what I needed and even sends me reminders if I forget to check in before notifying my contacts. I also like the fact that I can choose which of my contacts are notified like 🆘.

LOVE IT!!!

I truly cannot recommend SnugSafety enough! If you are the sole caregiver for someone who would be unable to alert authorities if something happened to you, please for the sake of their safety, get SnugSafety. It has given me so much peace of mind knowing that someone would be alerted to come help my toddler immediately after I missed a check-in. I’ve just forgotten to check in before and a live dispatch agent has called and called my emergency contacts. I was okay but so good to know it works! This really gives so much peace of mind!

A Snug hug

Since I have no one that calls me on a daily basis to check on me ( I’m 76 and not in great health) I signed up for snug to check up on me, and if I don’t respond within a certain time they will contact someone that can come and check on me . I have a little dog, and if I fell and wasn’t able t get to a phone I wouldn’t want to lay here for hours or days ((as some have in this community) without someone coming to help me and take care of my little dog . With snug I feel more secure now . I’m sharing snug with friends that also need a snug hug🥰

Wow, perfect for me

So simple and easy every day. You set your desired check-in time. Notifications quietly pop up on login screen, so it’s first thing you are reminded when looking at your phone. You click on icon, and BIG circle appears; one touch, and you’re checked in. At bottom of screen there “Call for Help” option; iconography is different and smaller than the circle so you won’t inadvertently hit the wrong one. AND if a stray finger hits Call for Help, it asks if you’re sure - I touched by mistake once so I know. As check-in time approaches, audible notifications remind you. A simple, easy daily routine.

Can’t say enough good things!

I am a single mom, who works from home, with a toddler. I had been paranoid that something would happen to me and nobody would find my daughter for a couple of days. After a Google search I found the Snug app and decided to download it and pay the extra money for the dispatch. Today, I accidentally forgot to check in as I was on the phone and they called me, called my emergency contact who was also busy, and then they were going to call dispatch when I realized and called back. Exponential peace of mind with SnugSafety that my daughter will be OK!

Healthy, active, not THAT old yet

So I didn’t think I needed to worry. However, a close friend died very suddenly, and her husband didn’t find her for several hours. I finally realized that NO ONE would miss me for days. But it took worrying that my cat would be alone for me to start looking for some sort of inexpensive alert 🤷‍♀️. I couldn’t BELIEVE that Snug is FREE! And incredibly easy to set up. Afterward, I found that my closest friends and family had been worrying about me, and were very relieved when I told them about Snug. I have since recommended it to everyone I talk to who lives alone. Thank you for a great, and much needed, product!

I LOVE this app!!

I highly recommend Snug! The basic functions are completely free, and may well be all you need (the upgraded functions are just $9.99 a month, and well worth it as well). One of the best things about SnugSafety is that it *is* an app, and is one of the only daily check-in services that checks in by a text message, and doesn't require phone calls, so it's *very* discrete, perfect for someone who may still be working but also needing a check-in in case while at home they've "fallen and can't get up" (in case anyone here is old enough to remember those commercials).

Perfect check in app

Living by myself, I wanted a check in app that could notify my friends, without being obnoxious about it, and not relying on them having the same app. This Snug is perfect! Only notifies if I miss, gives me plenty of warning to check in, easily seen on my phone, check in is simple, the last known location is great, and I really love all the motivational quotes after checking in too :) My friends appreciate the painless effort on their side, and are looking at it as well. This meets all my needs and I feel comfortable with it. Definitely eases my worries, having Snug here!

Simple, straightforward and helpful

Living alone can have one drawback: what if you got hurt or sick and no one knew? Rather than take time out of my day, or my friend or family member's day with a daily phone call, SnugSafety lets me push a button on my phone once a day. As long as I can open SnugSafety and touch the big green button, all is well. If I can't get to my phone or don't push the button, my family member or friend will be notified.
I choose the time to check in that fits my schedule. I can pause it if I am going on vacation.
This is the perfect app for my purposes. It does one thing. It isn't full of ads and nonsense. It just works.

Love this App

I have been using Snug for a number of months now and I really love it. In my 70’s and living alone, SnugSafety gives me a great sense of security. But just recently, I seem to be having an issue that I can’t figure out how to correct.

I did not change any Snug settings, but the “Reminder” function that used to show on the main Icon is no longer working, 3 hrs before the Alert kicks in. I think, but I’m not positive, that this occurred simultaneously with an iPhone update several days ago. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and what to do to correct the issue. My phone is using ios15.7.1 and says “up to date”.

Life saver

When one of my parents went into memory care and the other lived alone at home, that parent wanted me to text daily to check on them. Well, that sounds easy, but remembering to do this every day around the same time when I’m working and seemingly always at meetings, is difficult. And then if my parent is still asleep and doesn’t respond immediately, do I call, go there, become panicked or what? So now with Snug, it’s up to my parent to check in and they get plenty of notifications to do so and they decide on the deadline. It’s been GREAT! Takes a load off of me and reduces my anxiety. Highly recommend for elderly parents living alone. Very reliable app.

Love this app

I live by myself and am 71 years old. I was afraid that if something happened to me that no one would know for days. I remembered when my mom was alive she had paid for an account that she could check in daily. So I started my search for something similar. I found Snug and was delighted to find there was a free option. I signed up immediately and put my kids as the people who would be notified. When my youngest child saw this they also decided to sign up since they live alone. Have been using SnugSafety now for a few months and it’s easy. If you want to sign up for a phone call you can for a small fee. Definitely recommend.

Provides security without the cost

Living alone with a medical condition has been a concern for me as well as my family. I had the medical alert and then bought the Apple watch. The first had many false fall alerts and the second irritated my wrist as I have eczema. When I read about Snug I decided to give it a try and I love it. I enjoy not being tethered to anything and even if it is not alerting 24/7 my concern is if something happened overnight. As I said to my daughter who lives far away “I do not want to die in my sleep and smell up the house”. Checking in as I now do gives my daughter peace of mind. No text from Snug means I have checked in. Yes, relatives or friends could do the same but lives get busy. Snug is always here.

Safety and awareness

It’s very beneficial for me to check in on a daily basis as it keeps me on track to make sure I’m okay every morning. My major concern, and it doesn’t have anything to do with Snug, is that if I don’t respond, I don’t have someone to check on me on a timely basis. The person who is my contact doesn’t make the effort to check on me if I don’t respond. She rarely, if ever, responds to anyone quickly. She’s always more involved in her own life (self, family, and then friends). If I don’t respond, I’d appreciate it if Snug could/would contact a call center or emergency personnel to make sure I’m okay. I’ve never needed someone to be contacted, but just in case. I don’t have any family and very few close friends.

Mr Pete

Snug is FANTASTIC app that I’m thrilled with. This is one of a very few app reviews I have ever written. I would rate it much higher if it were possible. I am using the free version which fits my needs perfectly.

I am a sole caregiver for my wife with Alzheimer’s. I’m in very good health but my wife is totally dependent on me. I had to add special inside locks to prevent her from getting out of the house. Having done that, she’s trapped if something happens to me at night. Snug lets me add our daughter and her husband as emergency contacts to be notified if I fail to “check in” at a preset time. It works flawlessly to ensure my peace of mind and our daughter’s as well that I’m alright each morning. I even tested it this morning to make sure it was reliable and did exactly what it’s intended to do… Verify that I’m ok!

Great app for elderly people living alone

The one day I forgot to check in, Snug immediately sent a text notification to my daughter, who lives 2000 miles away.

It’s a great comfort to know that if I become incapacitated, my daughter will be notified within hours. And that’s using the FREE version.

I’m 67, but as I age into my 70s I’ll probably enroll in the paid subscription so that local law enforcement will be called to perform a wellness check when I don’t check in. Kudos to the developers of this reliable, potentially life-saving app.

SnugSafe is wonderful. I have the basic setup but I am considering the next level including sending emergency perosnnel as necessary. Not certain how to obtain this level. Thank you, Melva

I like to wake up and check into the app which gives a sense of emotional comfort. Some of the daily quotes are by people like Elon Musk which is a bad person in my opinion, some quotes are a bit sexist, harsh or judgmental, while they’re supposed to be daily inspirations. I wish the system chosing the daily quotes was a bit discerning not to send offensive quotes by bad people.
