Why is it so hard to book a class?!

YMCATwinCities makes you jump through so many hoops to reserve a spot in a class. It doesn’t tell you when reservations open up if a class is not yet bookable, so you can’t even schedule a reminder for yourself OUTSIDE YMCATwinCities ! To find a class you have to go to the schedule. To book a class, you have to leave YMCATwinCities and go to a seperate website—but there’s no easy link to that site through YMCATwinCities ! Then if the class isn’t yet open for booking, you have to guess when it will be and make a reminder in your phone just to go back through the whole process again when they open up to book. Not very convenient if you have a life.

Useful for class schedules, not for workout tracking

I wanted to like this update but the changes made to workout tracking have left it nigh on unusable for me.

Workouts consistently appear with the following day's date. Doesn't matter what time of day I visit the gym, my workouts always appear in the future. Can't delete or edit workouts once they've posted. The camera never accepts my XCapture photos anymore. I'm using the same phone I always did to take the pictures.

I'll keep this installed for checking on classes but otherwise this seems pointless. Back to tracking things by hand.

Ok but confusing

Finding classes and schedules of all the local Y's is very easy and I love that. Trying to enter and track a workout to complete my goal of working out 5 days a week is very difficult! It asks me to choose the day, then the exercise then you hit "complete" but it doesn't show up on the day that you chose. It's daunting to figure out and that's disappointing.

Great for class schedules

YMCATwinCities is very helpful for checking class schedules at each location. Easy to see any class you choose and when/where each chosen classes are.

I also like that I can use YMCATwinCities to check-in.

I only wish that I could access the number of visits for each month for my health insurance reimbursement purpose. I either have to ask at the desk or log onto the ymca page to check my visits.

Please add visit check ins

I would like to be able to see how many visits I’ve made in a month through YMCATwinCities . It’s nice that it tracks workouts if I sign in to a machine, but not all visits involve a machine and I don’t remember to manually enter workouts. I want to make sure I am reaching my 12 visits for my health insurance discount. I have my barcode in YMCATwinCities and use that to check in. Adding a count of those check ins should be an easy update for YMCATwinCities .

Great for schedules but not much else

Had it For a couple of years. I love that I can check class schedules at multiple locations. I recently downloaded it onto my iPad and I’m finding it frustrating that I can’t use it on both phone and iPad. It won’t allow me to put in my email address in the second app because it is already used.
Also, I wish that it would keep track of my visits to the Y

Great..but

Works flawlessly just some information that’s either missing or hard to find. The schedules tab could be easier to read and specifically open gym times are not always easy to find or understand.

Good ideas but Connectivity needs work

Overall I like YMCATwinCities. It connects me to my local Y and has the information i need.

It has a great concept for motivation in providing a ranking based on your activity.

Unfortunately this actually becomes discouraging as there is an issue of duplication when users connect more then one other fineness app to this one.

Hoping to see a genuine comparison of my activity level and unable to to do this as it is apparent that the ranking is skewed by others that have rankings 3 or even 4 times higher then realistic values due to duplicate activities syncing.

I was able to replicate this by connecting garmin, Strava, Apple health and myfitnesspal. Results x4.

Would love to see this fixed as the concept is great but lacks in execution.

Location schedule UX needs work

Great app and I especially love quickly seeing classes and times with just one tap. But the feature I use the most after that is the pool schedule, and that requires 6 taps. And that only results in a PDF download. I’m really surprised by this. In the building, both paper schedules are treated equally and are right next to each other on the wall near the entry. Why not treat them equally in YMCATwinCities too?

Not totally intuitive

I use YMCATwinCities to see schedules & sub info (group exercise class schedules). I go to 2 locations, so once I figured out how to see more than my home location, it is nice to see and flip between 2 schedules to see what’s happening at both Y’s. I also like the “add to calendar “ feature. The more I use it the more I like it better than the web schedule, but I wasn’t sure at first. Had to putz around with it.

Pretty good, easy to find classes

YMCATwinCities has come a long way and I like the improved screen resolution and simple navigation. Adding your membership card to your watch is amazing since I don’t care to carry my phone or watch with me sometimes. I look forward to future improvements!

Great app. Clean, intuitive interface

YMCATwinCities works great. I have been charting challenges and when I sign into a treadmill, it syncs my run data with YMCATwinCities flawlessly. Also, the calendar and gym/pool/fitness class schedules couldn’t be easier to read. Fun app to track my progress. A+

Amazing App

Love tracking my health within YMCATwinCities. Great to compete against my fellow gym members. I love how they rank your health monthly and give you trophies. Helps me see my overall health for the month and how active I've been across the board. Way too good to be a YMCA app

Booking Classes

I use YMCATwinCities to book my exercise classes, log them into my calendar & receive reminder notifications. YMCATwinCities also works great for electronic check-in when I arrive-very helpful.

Really Convenient

Having the YMCA app really is convenient. You can book classes with only a few taps. You can check in without your card and review class schedules with a tap and scroll. Finally you get automatic updates on openings and closures.

Hastings Ymca

YMCATwinCities is so easy to use and so nice to have to see what’s going on in my location and if I don’t understand something the people at the Y help me The girls at the front desk in the Hastings location are awesome!!!! They really care about you and they Show it sometimes it’s not always what you wanna hear but they do take every problem serious so thank you for being so great to so many people

Best App Ever!

i’m a senior citizen and don’t embrace technology wholeheartedly. YMCATwinCities is so easy to use and gives you the exact information you want at the touch of a finger. You can sort by a specific YMCA, a specific class, or a specific teacher. I check YMCATwinCities every single morning before I go to the YMCA.

YMCA

Lots off changes since I was a kid going to the Y. Back then there was YWCA AND YMCA! Now there is a terrific organization with lots of EVERYBODY. Being an elder the tech world can be more than frustrating but YMCATwinCities has a ton of info for me. It is easy to use and most of all helpful. I check and use it daily. Hooray and keep up the good stuff with health and wellness as its goal.

Easy

I am a new member of the Y and so far my first time using YMCATwinCities and I gotta say it is very easy, simple, and it’s clear no extra stuff and I just love all that I can look book and be done and that’s awesome lol so great job highly recommend oh and one of the best feature is that u scan your member card and now when you go to gym u can use your phone very handy five stars from me enjoy

Y Classes

Really enjoy my classes at the Y-cycling with Becky at 6 am on M and W and Gayle on F at 6 am! Also love Studio Strength with Nergis at 6 am Tuesday and Brian on Thursday!!! Great classes and fun Y members who attend them! So glad to have these early morning classes!!! Gets my day off to a great start!
