So, my wife bought me this drone for Christmas. I flew it twice and put it away for a few months. When I broke it out again, one of the batteries won’t charge. It had only been charged twice since its initial unpacking. I called customer service yesterday and the hold time was 87 minutes. I waited on hold until the recording said hold time would be 11 minutes. Then the hold time went to 79 minutes. Not acceptable. I hung up and called again choosing a different department. Eventually somebody answered and said basically I would need to buy a new battery because the messed up battery was indeed messed up. I said that it was only charged twice, she told me again that I could buy a $60 battery for a $180 drone. Guess I’ll use only one battery and not give these folks any more of my money.

This is what happens when a manufacturer doesn’t update their essential app, required to operate their drone. The drone is useless now that the app doesn’t work anymore. Since they haven’t updated their app for three years, it’s not surprising it eventually stopped functioning.
It needs to be updated. It doesn’t work with the latest versions of iOS either in iPhone or iPad. It’s broken. It just crashes. Lots of other drone owners are reporting the same issue.
And because it doesn’t work, it renders the drone that goes with it completely useless.

I purchased my drone a little over a month ago and the app crashes within 10 seconds of opening it. Seeing as the drone can only be operated with the app, I can’t use it. I’m a little bummed, especially as the boxing information asks you to contact Yuneec Customer Service instead of returning to the retailer. They aren’t answering, so as of now I’ve had no luck in getting my drone up and running. Hoping I didn’t just waste money in this investment.
