Turn off security settings?!?

The last step in RscMe set-up requires you to disable Face/Touch unlock, change PIN to 4 digit code AND set ‘lock’ at the maximum of 4 hours. No.

How is RscMe even allowed by Apple when it requires bypassing all of the security features?!?

Doesn’t alert

I do not have a lock
On my phone but if RscMe isn’t open it doesn’t check heart rate at all.
So you cannot do something else and have it checking. Also it doesn’t send alerts like it claims

No good

it's a hoax to make it work you have to pay 2.99

Poor execution

I was notified 24 hours later that my heart rate dipped to 38 bpm. Kind of need the alert when it happens.

Can’t set heart rate limit

I have a panic disorder and I’m trying to set it up so that when my heart beat reaches about 120 it contacts my fiancée, however it will not work. False advertising

Don’t buy!!!

Only works part of the time and not at the time you need it!!! Was not refunded and issues not fixed!!! Waste of money!!

Useless

Paid money for this only to find out I can't change the BPM where it sends a notification, which seems like a basic no-brainer feature.

Unable to change min or max heart rate

You cannot change what you want the rate to be for high or low. The high was set way too high for me but since I can’t change it, it defeats the purpose of RscMe .

DO NOT PURCHASE

I never write reviews, but I came here to warn you- RscMe will not share your info unless you remove the passcode and Face ID. So you literally cannot lock your phone to use this and it doesn’t tell you until after you pay and set up an account. I was able to do the same thing this does in the Health app that comes preinstalled on your iPhone.

Apple likely takes the blame for some of this…

The phone unlock requirement is ridiculous. But even aside from that, RscMe wouldn’t let me set my own limit for heart rate. I have a health issue that is not linked to age, and I need to be able to set a custom range and have the watch start to nag me when I reach the low end of it, then get more insistent as I get closer to the upper end of it.

Could be great heart rate is tied to age in app

I love the entire concept of RscMe because I have POTS but my heart rate has absolutely nothing to do with my age. My heart rate is totally connected to whether I’m standing up or laying down (or if I’ve taken my meds correctly). I recently had a health incident and wanted something that would notify myself as well as my mom if my heart rate went below X and since Apple only notifies myself RscMe came up in my search. Unfortunately I couldn’t set my own heart rate - that’s the biggest flaw. Otherwise I would love it. And I would suggest it to everyone in my assorted groups for POTS.

Deceptive in-app purchase system

The “Add emergency contact” DOESN’T MENTION that this is a “optional” feature FOR WHICH YOU WILL BE CHARGED until AFTER the charge is processed. This might be a great app, but in my book THUS CONSTITUTES FRAUD. And the developers protestations the side, the fact is that if you tap the “Add emergency contact” link, Even accidentally, you are immediately charged with no dialogue screen coming up to alert you and give you the option to cancel out of it.

And don’t presume that RscMe is functional in a limited mode without the purchase. IT ISN’T. The sole purpose of having RscMe is to notify someone when there’s an issue with your heart rate and IT ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT DO THAT INLESS YOU MAKE THE IN-APP PURCHASE!!

Scam. Cant use unless you pay them

Update: The developer has commented twice now on my review insisting it is not a scam with the in app purchases. To me this seems like a harassment attempt to get me to delete or change me review. However looking at other reviews that are similar to my experience. I do not see their good faith effort in updating the apps description to include that the full functionality described is only achievable with an in app purchase. Honestly if you want to be honest then just charge the $2.99 for RscMe . The upfront pricing would prevent these negative reviews.

Deceptive app. They make you think its free but they want 2.99 to use it. Also they want your phone to stay unlocked to use.

Doesn’t really work.

It’s is very delayed and does not send reports. Out of the 15+ spikes I had it only sent out 1.

Credits

No clear way to keep your credits if you delete and reinstall RscMe .

Unreliable

It sends alerts….WAY after the fact. I purchased the alerts in hopes it would give comfort with stuff I have going on. Both alerts were sent HOURS after a low and high heart rate.

Amazing App and great dev

RscMe does what it’s supposed too. It gets the job done when the time calls for it. Hopefully the dev keeps improving and keeps it up to date. Thank you for this amazing piece of technology.

Excellent App

I have blood pressure issues, I have a heart artery that is moderately fatty so my blood pressure is really hard to keep up even with medication sometimes in the morning or even in the afternoon when I take a nap, my heartbeat drops below what I set the application for and my daughter is my first emergency contact and she right away texts me asking me if I’m alright and the purpose is, if I don't respond to her, she’ll call the cops to get into my apartment. I got RscMe because I always have thought that my heart is my weakest point and I wouldn’t like someone to find me dead days or even weeks later when my body is already decomposing.
