Customer Service Refuses to Cooperate

A couple months ago Polarr created its latest update and ever since glitches up like crazy. Random photos in a sequence of shots will not work and there is nothing I have been able to discover that causes it. Sometimes it is literally the same photo in all settings taken at the same shot just simply in sequence and photo P…..132 will work and the next photo P…..133 won’t work. I have also tested this across multiple platforms and cameras to see if simply one of my things was messed up. I tested the editing program on a 2013 MacBook Pro and my 2017 iMac and both systems have this problem. I tested this across three seperate cameras which are ALL listed as having RAW conversion support on Polarr’s website, but just in case I even converted these files to JPEG previously and then tested and the problem still occured. I tested this on a GH3, GX8, and G9.

Possibly the worst part of this all is how Polarr has refused to listen and try to work with me to fix the problem. When I contacted them over email at first because of these issues they simply blew it off and refused to work on the issues with me. Very sad considering I paid for their pro edition already in full. Very poor customer service combined with a faulty program has drawn me away from Polarr and I just wanted to give a heads up to any serious photo editors that this program is a waste of your time now unfortunately.

Too many bugs, Awful keyboard shortcuts

I really wanted to love PolarrProPhotoEditor. The design is beautiful, but unfortunately, PolarrProPhotoEditor itself is horrible! First of all, the keyboard shortcuts are either non-existant or unintuitive. Moving between photos should be arrow keys, not the letters J and K. Command R should rotate the photo – not UNDO all the changes I just made to the photo.
The straw that broke the camels back for me was the fact that PolarrProPhotoEditor was not saving the edits on photos I was making!! So frustrating to go through a batch of photos and then export them only to realize 1 or 2 did not export with the changes I made. I go back into PolarrProPhotoEditor and sure enough, the photos are missing the edits I know I made! They even had the blue triangle to signify that they had been edited.
Poor performance overall. Rotating phtos results in a blurry section of the image for a lot longer than normal, so you can't see the potential result of your freeform rotate while adjusting the photo.
Uninstalling this disappointing app!

great

Great app. Wish it were a little less expensive for the pr version. If there is a sale or a markdown at some point I will buy it.

One thing about Polar, it occasionally freezes up if there is too much going on on your computer. I've got a 3 year old Macbook Air, and i have had no issues with any other software, but if I am running Polar and a browser with a few open tabs at the same time, Polar will likely freeze up and crash.

Still, it's a great app. Just keep bacground stuff to a minimum and save often.

Pretty Good App

As far as I’ve used it I’ve been mostly pleased. I was looking for a free alternitive to Adobe Lightroom, and although this doesnt nearly have al the options available in Lightroom, its good for a free app. The one thing i would complain about is there is no brush option, or at least not that i can find in the free version. I plan on trying the paid version for at least a month to see what it adds. But as far as I can tell, there isnt a brush anywhere. Some apps will have a brush where you can highlight or darken select areas of an image, or just add an enire new layer of an edit, but through a brush. Like you’re painting the edit on to the image. If that was put in PolarrProPhotoEditor, I’d give it 6 out of 5 stars haha.

good basic editor, but...

I used Photoshop and Lightroom for a number of year. I needed to edit some photos, but didn't want to have to pay for a subscription and found Polarr. It's a solid basic photo editing app, with good controls and easy-enough user interface.
However, I did notice a few issues. If I tried to edit a number of images in sequence with the copy/paste edits buttons, it would appear to revert the previous image back to original if I went back to it, so I would just edit and save as I went. Which brings me to my next issue- after a while, it gets insistent on me leaving a review. Every time I save an image, it would ask if I'm enjoying PolarrProPhotoEditor until I answered. Then it it would ask me to leave a review every time I saved.

Best App So Far

I have been using Polarr for over a year now and I love it. I have used multiple different programs like polarr and none can match it. With that being said though, there can be some improvement. For example, you cannot upload a large number of photos at once anymore, and some of my edits are not saving after switch to a different picture. My friends are also having these issues as well, and it can be a little slow, but overall it is for sure worth the download.

Solid and powerful, pro photo editing

I dabbled with all available free photo editors before I had to cave and become a photoshop guy for all the pro tools available, but Polarr is the only one that I find myself coming back to at times when even Adobe can't match some of the quality processing in specific applications. As I say, I've only tried the free version, but I use it frequently -- especially when I'm out with only my phone to futz around with images, but also with the desktop version. I'm tempted to spring for Polarr pro, since they've convinced me of their committment to high standards, and I probably will at some point, but I'm just trying to draw the line. Highly recommended software.

nice! one problem

hi, so PolarrProPhotoEditor is great and i edit my roblox (another game/app) GFXs on it. I've run out of filters so i decided to use someone else's filter. i tried importing it in, but it says that i need to update, so i did and i opened it again, tried importing it again and it still says i need to update. It's probably just my version of polarr but I dont know. I got a bit angry so that's why im here writing this. Again, i have no hate against PolarrProPhotoEditor, it's amazing and i love it. I just really want to use that filter and i would really appreciate it if it has gotten fixed. again, it's probably not a problem and it's probably just my mac.

Love it

They haven't updated it in 2 years but it still works great. I have an occasional issue where filters/presets wont stick on a few of the photos when I am editing multiple photos, but don't think I've ever had any other problems. I was looking for an editing app where I can batch save photos and apply a custom watermark and this allows me to do it for only $20 a year, which is awesome. I also love that I can create custom filters. Only thing they could possibly add to make me happier is a brush tool for blemishes (it has spot removal but only for single radial spots, its not very versatile) and a brush tool for the pixelate effect (you can only pixelate the entire image, which feels a bit useless)

I love this app, but let me tell you why…

Dude. Let me tell you I love PolarrProPhotoEditor. I am working for a client and need to schedule stock images on her Planoly account. PolarrProPhotoEditor not only lets me edit the stock photos to help make her theme coherent, it also lets me crop the image so it is perfect for instagram as a preset. That preset has saved me loads of time, especially when she gives me an abundance of photos that she needs uploaded ASAP, I can do a “batch save” and then upload them all.

This is the best app that I have found for what I need, and I have the free version. 11/10 would highly recommend to anyone who asked. I even have my client using it now!

LOOOOVE

I appreciate PolarrProPhotoEditor so much. I’ve been using it on my phone for a while, and I recently discovered I could use it on my Macbook Pro as well. WHOA>>>. Don’t get me wrong, I love photoshop and it has its uses. But honestly, PolarrProPhotoEditor does so many of the same things, and in several cases of those instances, Polarr is much easier to use. I am not a professional photographer. I am a real estate agent and a musician, and I love taking pictures. I find myself using PolarrProPhotoEditor way more often than I do photoshop. It serves my purposes easily and using it is a breeze! Seriously. Just download it. I’ll be supporting the company ASAP and buying the pro version for the additional features. Honestly, even if I didn’t use the additional features I’d probably still buy PolarrProPhotoEditor just to show support.

Thank you all for what you do!

Great for a lite version, few wishes listed in review

Love that you can whiten teeth and some of the other facial features, but I found you can only do most of the facial editing if the software auto recognizes the face. My wishes: I wish there was an ability to remove the background. I wish you could outline and select specific objects for editing (for example teeth even if the software doesn’t recognize them). Also I wish there were some other cropping options such as vertical/horizontal tilting Otherwise this is a great app with a lot of features in the lite version.

Great Graphics For Free!

I use Polarr to create thumbnails for my videos. The effects are excellent, the text overlays are clean and crisp, the editing tools are intuitive and fast. It's simple but very powerful. The free version is somewhat feature limited, but even most of the premium doodads can be tried on one photo a day. I am far from a brilliant graphic artist, but I am able to produce professional, modern looking results with ease. One of these days I will spring for the pro version to get rid of the warnings and limitations. But even without that, I'm very pleased.

Really useful for freelancer

I’m primarily a writer. but for many stories using my own photos (Sony A55 or iPhone X) having a quality, easy to use photo editor is really helpful. I downloaded Polarr Photo Editor so I could quickly crop, clean up and prepare my photos for submission and, maybe as important, be able to use it quickly. I’ve been able to do both as the user interface is intuitive and the results for my needs are everything I could ask for. Thank you.

Photoshop but free

I’ve tried a lot of free photo editors, and this one beats them all. It basically has all the features of Lightroom without making you pay anything. I haven’t tried out the paid version, but the free version has everything I could wish for.

The only feature that it doesn’t have is the ability to essentially cut out certain objects and only edit certain parts, like Photoshop. It does have a spot remover which gets the job done, but it is pretty coarse.

Absolutely Love

I LOVE Polarr! I use it for all of my photo editing. I love how many features you get for free, and how you can add your watermark. It’s a fantastic photo editing app. If you are really doing some heavy duty editing, make sure your computer is in well vented area (on a desk, not on your lap) as it can really heat up. PolarrProPhotoEditor works fantastically on a MacBook Pro. It really does everything it says. One thing I would absolutely love for the developers to add a “erase” tool so you can edit out weird designs on shirts and things like that.

Better than Fotor

Until recently, Fotor was my go-to photo editing app, but they made it harder to use without paying extra for upgrades. Polarr is much easier to use and has the color, contrast and brightness adjustments I need. Plus there's a "dehaze" feature that combined with the other adjustments make my pics sharper than ever and with the color adjustments that are to my liking. Keep up the good work, you have a user for life!

Photo saving app.

I got PolarrProPhotoEditor in an effort to edit some pictures I took and didn’t feel like using my phone to edit since I wanted to see the pictures on a bigger scale on my laptop.
PolarrProPhotoEditor turned out to be amazing and even with the little options it has with the free version I was still able to make a drastic change to the pictures that needed editing.
Couldn’t have asked for a better app on such short notice!

Hit The Ground Running

If you want to hit the ground running with a topnotch photo app, look no further. I am an amateur who's tried 7 or 8 others. They are all good, but this is the best, short of those I suppose full-time professionals would need to interface with movies and slick magazines and such as that. It operates on Mac, Windows, etc., and smoothly interfaces with the Photo libraries of those systems. The owner can use it on five devices. I use it on MacBook, iPad, and iPhone.

I can't think of a way they could have made this a more user-friendly app. Every feature has a little window that pops up as a reminder of how to work it. If that isn't enough, one click links to a training video that clearly demonstrates how to use that feature, along with some handy tips.

Awesome!!

I just downloaded this for my Mac. It is honestly so good! I am a very basic beginner in editing and it has been incredibly helpful. It has pre-set filters that you can pick from (and then further edit from there). You can also go through and pick different areas to adjust (sharpness, saturation, contrast, etc.) From what I have noticed, this might not be as good if you're looking for very detailed editing (though, there is a premium package, and I don't know what that holds, but maybe it's in there?)
Regardless, it is incredibly helpful and pretty easy to pick up the editing process.
