Sacred Space is inspired by the spirituality of Saint Ignatius of Loyola, a sixteenth-century Basque, whose insights into God's working with the human heart have been of great assistance to countless people over the centuries and are found more helpful than ever today. Sacred Space is a joint apostolate of the Irish Province of the Society of Jesus - the Jesuits, and Loyola Press. The site originated in the offices of the Jesuit Communication Centre in Ireland in 1999. Within a short time, many other languages were introduced. Using Sacred Space It might seem strange to pray at your computer, in front of a screen or using your smartphone, especially if there are other people around you, or distracting noises. But God is everywhere, all around us, constantly reaching out to us, even in the most unlikely situations. When we know this, and with a bit of practice, we can pray anywhere! We offer the pages of the site to guide you through a session of prayer, in six stages, including preparing your body and mind, and culminating in reflection on a scripture passage chosen specially for the day. The stages are: The Presence of God Freedom Consciousness The Word Conversation Conclusion Although they are written in the first person - "I" - the prayers are for doing, rather than for reading out. Each stage is a kind of exercise or meditation aimed at helping you get in touch with God, and God's presence in your life. Simple and Deeply Moving
This app is such a gift. I’m a busy mom- comes with the title, and my path to God has been bumpy though my Love for Him has been constant. This site/app has simplified my focus so I am able to get quiet with my interior and place the focus on co-creating my life life with God in surrender. This is where we are in today’s world with global connections and instant access. Sacred Space supports living Godly life in today’s modern world through contemplation of scripture, quiet reflection, listening to ones body and heart...teaches the spiritual exercises that inevitably bring us closer to God. I write this with deep gratitude to the God and the contributors.

Not a church goer
A private person am I. Generally I would not do what you are reading now. I do so to help and encourage. For me anywhere and every where is church. As I have the luxury of a connected device I am able to open this and be in a spiritual place with the gospel I read, believe and follow as best I am able. Every day. Me and my companion guardian angel, take several moments each day to be thankful for our lives and for ways we may be of service to people as they enter and exit our lives Thank you Jesuit for being there. All over this planet

I am a cradle Catholic. I found your app. several years ago and read it everyday!!! I find it deeply helpful to the start of each day. I like how you follow the Ignatian spiritual exercises, the small parts give me a reminder to stop and reflect as I follow the design for meditating. I really missed it while you were updating your app. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR LEADING ME CLOSER TO GOD EACH DAY. I read the extra explanations you have and have benefitted from them greatly. I pray for you that your ministry may greatly be spread and that all benefit by your sharing God’s way and word.
