So I have had ShowHomeApp for a while and I liked it, I liked the lights, the effect they had on the room they are in. But one day, more specifically today, i walked into the room and they started flashing on and off, different colors. I know exactly how to make this happen and it was the first thing I did on the lights. But I knew someone must be messing with it. So I asked around and everyone in the house with me told me they did not have ShowHomeApp . My brother earlier had had ShowHomeApp and had been messing with the lights but I made him delete it and I watched him do so. I cannot be completely sure that he did not get it again but I know he didn’t because he was willing to let me search his phone. What I would like with ShowHomeApp is that ADD PASSWORD TO THE BLUETOOTH CONNECTION SO NO HACKERS!!
Because I am probably going to delete ShowHomeApp now and give away the lights in a yard sale because I don’t know if someone was spying on me or if someone was listening and watching or something creepy. Or if someone could gain access to my device because of this “little” mishap. So look in to that and maybe someday you will get a better review. You don’t even have that many stars so seriously it seems like you might wanna look into these reviews. Sorry, good luck, MAKE IT HAPPEN

Love the lights. Not the app

I love these lights, I got the LED C9’s and enjoy the sets we put up on the house this year. The reason for 4 stars is because the technology needs to be updated. ShowHomeApp does what it needs to do, change functions, but I think that this company needs to add a module to set a timer for the lights to go off and come on at a certain time. The way around this, I purchased a Bluetooth light timer such as the KASA brand to synchronize to my cellphone. It works great to add times to come on and go off, as well as they sell a outlet that can attach multiple devices for yard display and other lights. ShowHomeApp also needs the ability to create you’re own show. Each show has the dimming effect which I’m not a fan of and I’d enjoy making my own show. I also wish this company had other forms of lights to add to my house for the holidays. But these are sufficient and do the job. I definitely know this is an investment that will go on my house for many many Christmas’ to come.

Worst lights ever, buggy app

Don’t know if ShowHomeApp is the whole problem or part of the problem, but these are the worst holiday lights ever. We installed some for Halloween, problems all season with lights staying lit, syncing with app etc. Then, stupidly, we went all in for Christmas and bought enough for the whole house, and paid someone $$$$ to hang them. They are so pretty when they work, but random strings turn off at random times. They will relight if we unplug and replug, but what a hassle in the cold and dark. Our lights look bad more than half the time and I am tired of babysitting them. Now I have to pay more to have someone take them down so I can return them. Worst experience with Christmas lights I’ve ever had. Don’t dl ShowHomeApp , just return the lights immediately and save yourself!!!!

nice light and app

I have two strands of lights and ShowHomeApp works pretty good with them. I don’t do all that scheduling time and stuff, I just turn my lights on and that’s it. So for any basic person like me, ShowHomeApp works pretty fine. I like the tons of colors to choose from and settings for the lights to display like Roll and Sea Wave. The only issue with ShowHomeApp that the creators should find a way to fix is that anyone can connect to my lights if they have ShowHomeApp. They would have to be really close by since ShowHomeApp doesn’t connect from far away, but if anyone wanted too, they could change the lights.

Good lights but need better app and customer support to help troubleshoot and fix the glitches

I love the lights and the many selections it has colorwise and patternwise.

What I don’t like is that there is no timer to turn on and off. U can set it to turn off after a certain amount of hours but not turn on.

I have also noticed that half of my lights will turn off four hours after turning on. So I would come how to half of my house with lights and half of it off. It’s frustrating that there’s no support for these lights to help problem solve issues like this.

Go with the Phillips version from target

Bought these and was very disappointed after setting them up thee app has very little functions you can’t create custom colors they don’t go with music. I took all 10 sets back after seeing the philips version at target and they were well well worth the extra money. ShowHomeApp blows these away by miles the amount of customization is endless compared to these. These from Home Depot you can’t even correct color errors like the warm white is no where close and no way to edit it or anything else don’t waste your time or money

Good Product W/Room to grow

We’ve got the string lights and spot lights setup for a long term installation. The lights work great and after a small learning curve we are really enjoying them. Our house really lights up in a nice way for the various holidays! The one feature we really wish for is to select our own colors. The default color themes are okay, but I find I set the strings to one color and the spot lights to another. This is the only way to get a display that fits my liking. Definitely enjoying them though!!

Don’t get it.

ShowHomeApp gets updated so in color options there’s now two “cool white” settings but “Color show” was removed!?! Why? Can’t we have two “cool white” settings AND “Color show”

I leave these lights up all year round and I would really enjoy having the original “Color show” setting back I have a now three month old daughter who really loved that setting. She would coo for hours. It would be a big help to this setting was restored.

Other wise I’m pretty happy with these products.

App needs to be updated

I love the LED strips but ShowHomeApp needs to have an update to where you can make you’re own show and be able to dim the lights to a certain level. Another kinda cool ida would be to have separate menus for people like me who have two strips so that you can make them do different things. Overall the lights are good but just a couple of changes and updates are needed also make sure to have different menus for different settings such as temperatures and brightness

2018 Lights

We paid quite a bit of money for 6 boxes of the C6 lights in 2018. The first year we had them ShowHomeApp and lights were great. This year I put the lights up and turned to ShowHomeApp to set them up and I discover that ShowHomeApp does no longer allows me to set the sequence or direction of my lights because they must be 2019 or later to access those settings. Completely ridiculous for the price I paid for these lights. I would be happy if they would release an older version of ShowHomeApp so that I could control my lights they way I did the first year I owned them.

No support for 2018 lights

Bought the C6 strings in 2018. ShowHomeApp at the time worked great. Then I bought the 2019 icicle lights last year. ShowHomeApp wouldn’t group the two varieties of lights. Fine, no problem...I just created 2 groups. This year (2020)... ShowHomeApp still doesn’t support grouping 2018 & 2019 lights. It also dropped two features that I used previously: 1) the ability to change the order of the strings 2) the ability to change the direction if the chase pattern. I now have strings of lights that chase in complete opposite directions and out of order.

Extremely frustrated

I am extremely frustrated with these lights. Like other reviewers, I feel the idea was great and if it worked properly I would be thrilled. However, you can only set the amount of time you want the lights to go on, not the time you want them to go on and off. But the most frustrating thing, is that I have icicles and C9 lights that have to be controlled as one. Why? They are two different types of lights. It totally ruins the affect. Fix it! We spent a lot of money on these lights for them to be useless.

Time function needed

ShowHomeApp works ok except that it has no ability to set a time for the lights to come on. It appears that ShowHomeApp is designed for you to turn on at the same time daily, at whatever time you turn it on but I have found the lights on hours earlier.
The Show 1 etc. used to be able to set a mode and time but appear to have lost functionality.

So close

I love the lights, but I wish there was more functionality. Custom sets would be awesome, would love to manually choose at least two colors at a time (red and green). This would be ideal for the c6 light string I have.

Also, I would love to control the light spheres separately. I have two and they have to be the same color. Would love to make them two different colors.

Good till the update

Bought 10 sets of the C6 lights last year. At $40 per set which was a bit pricey but it was mostly for the kids and it was awesome. Had great compliments from passers by and neighbors. Now that you have updated ShowHomeApp ......zero. Maybe two of the sets if you get close enough to the remote will link up. None of the lights will do the same thing. Thanks for screwing up a good thing.

It’s better then the other app

It’s way better however for the LED STRIPES I just wish there was a speed that you can choose and to make your own colors like the remote led stripes do but you can’t with that app . It’s also all to pressed into one place like could you maybe make it on another page or something so it’s not all in one page you know . But other than that these lights are great!

Neighbors with same lights hijacking control

My neighbors bought these last year and I liked them so I bought some. Now, if we both have them on, Bluetooth is detecting both houses and putting them on the same cycle. I have no way to decouple their lights from mine. If I change lights, it changes on both houses. I’ve installed ShowHomeApp but the password options appear to be disabled bc I can’t use them. Want to like these but ShowHomeApp is making it super hard.

Good lights - needs more functionality.

Current version as of 11/10. C9 lights won’t work on color show when hooked up with icicles.

For future, need to add more functionality. Should be able to make custom color sets, edit timing and speed.

Lights look good, are bright enough when it’s dark and pretty sturdy. Added functionality in the future would make this a 4 or 5 star product.

Latest release breaks on iOS

With the latest release modes can no longer be changed on c9 bulbs at a minimum. So lacks the ability to have user defined on off schedule based on phones time and offers no user customization (think brightness, custom color schemes, speed of transitions, etc). When fully functional this is a 2-3 star app.

Right now it makes me question the amount of money I spent on these lights to have their functionality be broken due to poor app quality control.

It... works...

For the price I’m disappointed. The lights themselves are pretty awesome. It’s ShowHomeApp I’m disappointed in. I’d like to see ability to set in app timers. Custom shows and something more advanced than these pre programmed basic light shows. Also add music sync of some sort and ill buy many many more of these. However A let down for the price currently won’t buy anymore.

Don’t bother

Doesn’t let you do anything. After a couple of changes the lights all reset to the demo mode. No matter what i do the only option is to have all of the lights do the exact same thing. We spend hundreds of dollars on 2018 and 2019 c6,c9, led strips, Christmas trees, ice sickle, and candi cane lights. ShowHomeApp makes you physically angry and takes all of the joy out of having these lights. I’m ready to throw them away and just replace them with regular white lights. Updated for November 2020. They seem to be forcing us into buying new lights. I’ll never buy these again. Beware.
