Ending feels rushed, but ample gameplay

2024-08-30

This game is fun. Hands down. It's one of the longer choice games, but the story is more streamlined than some of the other games. The ending feels rushed and you can't really invest your time into decisions you would prefer, but it is still good and a game that is worth your time.

Awesome, but must dock stars.

2024-04-24

On an iPad: Can't change the text size (too small for me!) Can't change the font. Can't hide distracting "stats" when in landscape mode.

Other than that, it's wonderful and clever.

Just "finished" it (a few times), just wonderful. Have to give back a star. Still needs a font size option.

Great writing but the illusion of choice.

2024-08-31

It was and is absolutely fantastic writing. The only thing I don't like is how forced the ending is and how you only get the illusion of choice with Barnabas. No matter hat you do he spares you, then he either leaves, spares you, or flees, and then the last time you meet him you fight him and win. EVERY TIME. Maybe I haven't found all the ending but I feel as though Barnabas is forced upon the story without actually being a sort of it. You can't do anything except talk to him or punch him in the face, and even then you get the same course of events with him. Next time make characters like him blend with the story more. Give more choices, allow us to befriend him, allow us to do other things. Anything but kill him. Some people want to make friends. Not kill people. Overall an amazing story but Barnabas feels forced.

Frustrated

2024-08-31

This was an amazing game don't get me wrong. And if it weren't for one thing that really frustrates me it'd have all five stars! But for the life of me I can't figure out how to wind up with Raj. I can get him to kiss me but it never went past that. Either he'd say I'm a bad influence on him because I tried to make him like me and it backfired in the end, or he wouldn't be interested at all in me because I wasn't enabling his gambling when I'd try to be a better influence. So either way Raj would turn me down in the end after I spent hours trying to wind up with his character. And I CAN'T figure it out! When I say I spent hours I'm not kidding at all, I spent HOURS trying to get his ending. It's beyond irritating. Maybe I'm just stupid that I missed something I don't know, but my annoyance over this is what makes me take away a star.

Second best

Replay value is there. Interesting content and idea that I can't get enough of. If all the games I've played by these people were rated in order of awesome id say this is second only to the heroes rise games. I am also partial to choice of romance, but eh...I like the drama.

I wish I could give it 6/5

2024-06-10

This game I planned on having for something to do whenever I was bored. It turned out I played at least 3 different play throughs and played for 9 hours straight I couldn't have more respect for the writer. Simply put this is amazing is pay the cost 5x over

A Must-Buy

2024-06-10

There's a lot content to explore in this game, you can't see all of it in one play through so it definitely encourages replays, which I love. Also has an incredibly compelling plot line and plenty of variations on the ending, making gameplay more satisfying and your choices more meaningful.

One of the best text based adventures

2024-06-10

I'm a big fan of Choice of Games, even though the writing of some are not exceptionally deep, and more about choices than story. This, however, was incredibly well written, deep, and felt like the perfect mix of story and options. Highly recommend giving it a try!

Awesome Game

Great game with a ton of different options and story threads to follow! You have to play this game multiple time to get the full scope of this incredibly detailed game. It doesn't leave anything out, and you are free to explore the game as much as you want.

A Fun Run Through Text

2024-06-10

I enjoyed the craft of this game's writing, especially the relationships between characters. For the first time I didn't feel like I was pushed into an obvious romance and the friendships you can cultivate had more dimension than many of the other 'Choice of' series I've played. I'd love a sequel and hope they fix some of the odd text flubs I noticed while playing. An excellent purchase.

Best interactive story I've played.

2024-07-02

Spent hours on my first play through. Even after an hour I knew I was going to play this again. There's so many possibilities, I just gotta try them all!

Fine writing and fun story telling

2024-06-10

I always like games like this. I was never one to read except for maybe fan fictions and subtitles of video games but reading through this adventure pushed my mind to the creative limit and more. I kept thinking exactly what was going as a movie. The detailed descriptions happily had me seeing the environment around me as I played my self-named character. I really felt scared, happy, anxious and emotional when choosing my given choices. That's something I like about these games and I think others will like too. Definitely one to check out. Plus I was happy to get Olivia as my girl in the story. I like the authors stuff and hope he comes out with more soon.

I’d love a sequel

I frankly love this Choice of Game. It has everything I want and it delivers surprisingly well. I can’t quite describe why but it’s left me with a need for more of this character you play as.

Awesome

Had an absolute blast playing this game. Would definitely recommend it to anybody that has a bit of free time on their hands

A Wise Use of YOUR Time

2024-07-21

Imagine waking up one day only to discover that you are able to completely slow time to a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a second. It would appear as if you stopped time completely.

What would you do?

What kind of person would those powers prove you to be?

Would you tell anyone? Your friends? Strangers?

And what if using those powers would draw the attention of evil. Would you still use them, even if it meant endangering the lives of the people you loved?

This game allows you to make those choices. You can stay true to your character throughout and explore both the scientific and the moral ramifications of having the ability to control time. You will encounter wonderfully developed characters whose friendships and flaws are meaningful to the story. You will have multiple ways to solve situations. It is a great game.

You should definitely find the time to play it. :)

Great Game/Interactive Novel

2024-07-21

A Wise Use of Time ended up being a very fun and memorable adventure from Choice of Games, and it may even be my favorite title yet. The concept is unique, the story is interesting and exciting, the characters are surprisingly well rounded, the choices are meaningful, and the stat system is complex yet solid. I literally stayed up until 1:00 AM on this book/game when I should've been reading The Oresteia for class. I recommend this game for anyone who likes a good fantasy/suspense story as well as to anyone who's just trying to get back into reading books.

AWESOME.

First game I paid for from this company. I've played Paranoia, the Haunted House for rent game, Choice of Dragon, and Choice of Romance for free. They're all great!
This and the haunted house game are my favorites. You can replay several times, with significantly different outcomes, and get to know multiple characters. I'm still working on unlocking some achievements.
You won't regret buying this!
And if you are hesitant, just remember that $3 for a regular book is a great deal, but you can't choose your path in a regular book. You could also be buying a box of crackers for the same amount of money. But this is more entertaining.
Looking forward to more from this company :)

Most Excellent

I get a lot of these games and believe this is the best one yet. The plot twists are amazing and unpredictable and the story lasts just the right amount of time. Try this one... You won't be disappointed!

Sequel

2024-07-21

I NEED A SEQUEL!!! I’ve read this and gone through it maybe 50 times and I love it each time I do. I’ve came to memorize lots of choices and I really want to see a sequel or even prequel to this. Pleaaase do me this favor!!!

I loved it

I read this book and was so sad to see the end. It had me hooked and it's something that really kept me reading. My conclusion on this is it is a great book I would recommend to everyone.
