About Sonobit

Follow the instructions there for adding your devices and finish by launching the Sonobit iPhone/iPad app once for the settings to take effect.

In rare cases, Sonobit is unable to automatically discover Sonos devices.

If Sonobit says "No Sonos system available", you can manually add your Sonos devices.

No setup is required! Sonobit automatically detects all your Sonos devices instantly.

Sonobit is the most feature-packed remote widget for Sonos on the market.

Sonobit also runs on your Apple Watch! It gives you the full set of media buttons and shows the currently playing song and album art.

You don’t even have to unlock your iPhone/iPad to access advanced features like group control and ”Pause All”.

Just swipe to the right on the Home screen or the Lock screen of your iPhone/iPad to access the widget.

Start the Settings app on your iPhone/iPad and tap Sonobit.

Pull it to the top of the list for easy access.

Swipe down from the top of the screen and then right.

This may be because UPnP is not enabled on your router.

Why doesn’t everyone have this?

I can’t believe I just heard about Sonobit after Googling “how to get Apple Watch to work with Sonos”. I was skeptical to purchase based on the reviews, but people leaving anything less than a 4 are nuts. I have an Apple Watch Gen3 with a iPhone X, for the sole purpose to control my Sonos setup with my watch. It blows my mind that Sonos didn’t include this capability, but someone created it and capitalized on it, and it does just what I need: volume control, pause, skip forward and back, while showing you the song info.

A nice future capability would be a volume slider control vs. tapping the volume up and down in increments. Some people want to be able to group and ungroup speakers, which is a nice to have, but how often are you doing that on a daily basis? I’m sitting on my couch, listening to my station, on the speakers I want, and have the watch control to make the adjustments listed above without reaching for my phone.

Another more important capability would be for Sonobit to always be displayed on the watch as it does when you connect to a Bluetooth speaker, as opposed to having to hit Sonobit button and reopen Sonobit .

Overall Sonobit is a hit and a must have if you have the Apple Watch, and I’m telling all of my friends.

Was a good app but I can’t get it to work again.

Ever since the updates to the watch the watch app appears to be broken for me. It will find my system and will sometimes play and pause but it will absolutely not control the volume. The iPhone app appears to be doing its job though it constantly has to refine my system seconds after I just used it. The watch app has been removed and reinstalled repeatedly for me with no luck controlling the system consistently.

Just what you need for Sonos...

Felt the need to write a review because there are so many varied reviews here that span two years. from my perspective, the overall rating does not come close to reflecting the current value of Sonobit. This is the best app to be able to control your Sonos system. You can select the group, control the volume, pause the music and mute. What else do you need? Maybe selecting favorite sources would be nice, but the price is right for this one. Works great, lets me skip songs I don’t like, and lets me adjust volume without having to pull out the phone. If Sonos made an app, it would probably be just like this. BTW, the flashy icon colors make Sonobit easy to see on the Apple Watch.

Great App - just a few recommended tweaks

Extremely easy set up. Was impressed that it was not necessary to provide Sonos login credentials. Just install Sonobit , add the widget, and your are done. Sonobit provides very basic controls (pause, play, previous track, next track). You can also switch between speakers including speaker groups. The watch app also works well with the same functionality.

To make this a 5 star app I would really like to see volume controlled by the watch crown, a watch complication that would quickly take you to the Apple Watch app, and the ability to initiate and/or switch Sonos favorites (playlists, stations, etc.). It appears the only way to change what is playing is to open the native Sonos app.

Works great! Would add a few features of possible...

Great app! Only things I would like to see added:

- One of my rooms (living room) shows up in the widget as playing "no music" when it has the TV audio playing through it. Would like to have it say TV audio or something if possible (like the real Sonos app does).

- Is it possible to have Sonobit show up in the control center? The widget screen is more difficult to access now with iOS 11, but the control center is very accessible. Would be nice if a button showed up for Sonobit there similar to the Homekit/iHome button.

Works Great - Including with New S2 Operating System

Recently built a new pool and wanted a quick and easy solution to have control over my patio speakers from my Apple Watch while in the pool.

Never understood why Sonos would not provide a watch app. This does the trick very seamlessly, including controlling speakers running on the new S2 platform.

Basic controls (play, pause, volume, skip forward and back, etc. and ability to choose what zone you want).

Can’t choose new content (as it only controls what is already playing or already in the queue) but was never advertised to do so and that is likely a feature that only Sonos could implement.

Highly recommended for the features mentioned above if you want to skip songs and change volume from the pool or spa without needing your phone.

How to add living room surround play at?

Nice idea to have the widget easy to access. Although no matter what I do with IP addresses or manual entry I cannot get your app to show the living room portion of my system which includes two speakers and a sub in the play bar everything else shows the alternate rooms the outdoor speakers etc. but I can't get the play bar and it's part to show as an option (which is my living room) please advise. Help me and I would love to 5 star it!

Almost Perfect

Nice app. Bought primarily for Apple Watch support, which is my backup when phone is not near. Two items would make perfect. One is instant volume control using the crown to support the frequent use case when you cannot move your attention to the screen. (Think kids:) Second would be adding a small complication that would allow faster launching of Sonobit when you do have access to the watch face. Is either in your future?

Excellent app for controlling Sonos system

I bought Sonobit primarily to control my So is system from my Apple Watch and have been very pleased with it. I also had a question for the developer and they were very quick to respond. If you’re looking for a more convenient way to control your sonos speakers this is a much better option than using the Sonos app to do so, especially if you have an Apple Watch.

thank you for including accessibility!

As a totally blind individual, I must say thank you for firstly being aware of people like myself using your apps. Secondly for including all necessary things to make Sonobit VoiceOver friendly. Finally for stating right in Sonobit 's description that VoiceOver support is included. I'm super impressed! And to be able to use my watch with this... Are you kidding? Absolutely awesome! 5 stars to you all the way!

A great way to control Sonos

Got Sonobit primarily to control Sonos from my Apple Watch and this app does not disappoint! Play, pause, skip & control the volume right from the watch. It’s especially great because I can take my watch in the shower & still control the play one that’s in my bathroom. Additionally tech support from the company is lighting quick & top notch if you ever have an issue or have a question.

Perfect Apple Watch Sonos app for me!

Installed it a few minutes ago and it's exactly what I was looking for! I have speakers in two areas and my phone is often not in the one I'm in. Besides, I rather reach my watch than my phone whenever I can and this is it for me.

I love the interface! it took me a moment to realize there's a slight delay when you tap the volume controls. Having my phone app open next to it allowed me to get a feel for it.

It's perfect for me and I highly recommend it!

Haven't played with the phone app because all I needed was a good watch app for sonos speakers.

Thank you for making Sonobit available and I mean it sincerely! you deserve more positive reviews :)

Sonos - Apple Watch Connection

I am a Sonos lover and have been highly disappointed that Sonos did not offer Apple Watch support. Sonobit does EXACTLY what it says it does. Quick download. Automatically connected to my Sonos. I can control the music and different groups on my Apple Watch. Thank you. Crown dial control of volume would be nice but still a great app for anyone with Sonos and an Apple Watch!!!!

Handy!

Handy app for something Sonos should support, but doesn’t.

After I got a new phone I had to find the “customize” link on the Home Screen.. not the plus to add a widget.

Support replied in literally 2 minutes with the answer to my question.. amazing! Now I can see and control Sonia from the Lock Screen again. Yay.

Breaks Sonos

Reply to developer: Yes it did break Sonos in that the Sonos app could no longer connect to the speakers right after I installed Sonobit. The connections would time out. As soon as I deleted Sonobit, Sonos starts working again and could connect to the speakers just like before. So sorry but that is exactly what happened. If you want to deny that, have at it. But I won't reinstall Sonobit and would recommend others do so either.

What a waste of money. Sonobit totally broke Sonos. As soon as I deleted Sonobit , Sonos app started working again. How do I get a refund? Sheesh. Awful product.

Useful for Watch

Provides basic controls for Watch os5. It easily found all my Sonos units and allows room switching, but only after learning that a Force Touch (holding down your finger on main screen) switches to a two button menu with “Groups” & “Mute” controls. “Groups” control allows you to switch rooms. All I wanted was mute and volume controls from Watch while system is already on and Sonobit provides that.

Getting better as I use it

Widget works fine on iPhone but not as well on Apple Watch. Have to reinstall anytime I control something else from watch and try to go back. No updates in a year? Possibly could be why it doesn’t work properly.

Great app, does exactly what it says it does

Sonobit is perfect. I got it for the watch functionality, and it works flawlessly. I can change groups, start and stop music, and change the volume. I also sent an email to the dev with a question, and they responded in less than 30 minutes. Top notch app, and top notch dev.

Watch App stopped working??

Deleted app and reinstalled several times. Watch app recognizes Sonia system and different rooms but will not actually control speakers.

Phone and iPad widgets work fine, it’s just the watch app having issues. Help Please!

Sonobit is insanely handy when it works.

Excellent App!

I’ve been using it for about 2 weeks now with my Apple Watch 3 and no complaints. It covers all the critical functionality I need, including grouping zones which is key for me. It works reliably if Sonos is already turned on, however, I cannot turn on or “play” Sonos from “off” with my watch. It is shocking Sonos has not created their own watch app, this is a great app!
