Does not work on iPad with iOS 11.3 - UPDATE

I was able to use the this app app on my iPad mini until I updated to the latest iOS 11.3. After updating Granta freezes when I access the Weekly and when I access the magazine the pages do not display, only the table of contents. I wish this app would update Granta to work with iOS 11.3.
*** UPDATE, 24 May *** Since my review, this app has released 2 updates. With the latest version 1.0.13 installed Granta appears to be working again on my iPad mini. — Thank you this app!

Keep trying

Seems to me, Granta is only half done. It presents The Weekly content as one undifferentiated pile, with the only navigation being next/previous (swipe left/right). No indication of Fiction or Nonfiction. Can I please mark things as read, then hide, so I don’t have to flip through? And, no option menu to select font size, a common feature in a world with multiple screen sizes. Please keep trying, this app! A good digital option is for me a major lure to subscribe.

A breathtaking contempt for the user

this app has always been one of my favorite publications. However I found Granta totally unusable. Not only is it unusable, but this app refuses to provide any support; emails to support are not answered. This is totally unacceptable. I strongly suspect Granta does not work with recent incarnations of iOS 11. If you are considering buying this application don’t do it. It is a waste of money and will be frustrating.

I have rarely seen such indifference from a developer. Maybe it is another example of hostility some in the literary class hold towards technology. It’s too bad.

Unable to read the content!

This used to be a great app but during the past few weeks I’m struggling to read my this app issues from my iPhone and iPad apps. I can download the issue but I’m not able to read any of the articles. The only thing I’m able to see is the table of contents.
Please fix this problem as soon as possible or I will need to cancel my subscription!

Just a terrible app. Subscribed but likely will not renew

Granta just doesn’t work on an IPad. Screen rotation is hit-or-miss. The navigation is really unintuitive, and the overall experience stinks. It’s a pity, because so many magazines get this right. Why not just license a standard app framework and get on with the content?

Does Not Work As States (somewhat)

As a subscriber to the paper publication, I would dearly love the convenience for offline viewing. What does download mean if not for that purpose ? The need for an internet connection is a waste of money & data & limits the portability for those of that us that use non-phone devices. Also, this is the same problem across multiple platforms. Please consider correcting. If copyright protection is the issue here, may I suggest contacting Apple for technical advice. One last thing: please consider incorporating a font adjusting feature , also. Thank you.

Doesn’t work

Installed Granta , logged in with my credentials, downloaded the latest issue, tried to read it and all I see is a white screen. Guess I’ll just have to keep carrying around the physical issues.

Love Granta, not much its app

I find Granta a disappointment. It crashes constantly and asks to login almost every time I open it. These problems turn the experience of reading the magazine into a big hassle.

This app continues to be terrible

Granta continues to be terrible therefore I am not renewing my subscription. There have been no bug fixes or any developments of Granta in over a year.

No longer works

Don’t buy digital access. Granta simply no longer works. Can’t access any editions (blank pages). Used to be good. What happened, G?

Terrible app, consumer service even worst

App doesn’t work. Magazine doesn’t even bother replying! Really frustrating.

Horrible

Great magazine, but this is the worst app I’ve ever used. I gave up in disgust and will read the hard copy.

GRANTA app does not work. Period.

Granta does not work. Totally frustrating experience.

Good idea, terrible implementation

I love this app. It's a great magazine. Granta, however, is not a good representation. The interface is clunky and confusing. And even though I can see the covers, when I sign in to download an issue (very inconvenient by the way. You should only log in once.), it takes me to the last issue I was reading. I've had to delete Granta and reinstall it to look at another issue.
A publication that presents such forward-thinking and stellar writing should have an app to match. This is not it.

App won't let me sign in.

I can sign in on my laptop, but Granta on my phone won't let me sign in. Repeatedly says my authentication info isn't correct. this app customer service hasn't answered my email either. Tried to change my password to see if that helped but I never got the "password reset" email. Frustrating. App seems to stink, but the writing in the journal may be worth it anyway. Probably should have sprung for the print version.

As beautiful as the paper copies

Lovely app to read and to interact with. Beautiful design, even when compared to the exemplary paper editions of the magazine. I only wish that Granta didn't sign me out automatically every three days or so, and that it could keep your spot in a piece after leaving Granta .

Crappy service, not ready for prime time

Bought subscription through App Store on my iPhone. Want to read on computer or laptop but can't sign in because App Store didn't give me subscription number. Called this app, got a surly customer service agent, says I'm not in the system, can't help. Now what?

Bad service and bad app

What's the point of Granta ? Nothing shows up.

Terrible app

Please hire someone who knows how to construct an app. Aside from your roulette wheel of chance when trying to read an issue, one has to sign in EVERY f&$king time! Some of us actually read this app on out frickin’ phones! Nice digital subscription.

App is usually not functional

When it works, it’s great. But it’s only worked once for me. Otherwise, when I pick a story in an issue, it just displays a blank screen where the text should be. Extremely disappointing, especially since this app doesn’t offer digital subscribers any other way to download issues to read on mobile devices. They should just work with amazon to give kindle download access to subscribers, like many other publications do.
