Paperback Manga Reader Reviews

Lots of the manga inside PaperbackMangaReader are missing chapters. Some will have chapters 1-19, then 30, then 46, etc. So it could definitely use some sort of way to add sources like Mangasee, Mangakakalot,Kissmanga, MangaPlus, etc. Currently it seems to only have MangaDex, which is insufficient if you are reading manga that have been out for a while and want access to all of the chapters, not just some. I’m not sure how deeply ingrained mangadex is with this application, as it supports mangadex login, but hopefully this isn’t the only source we’re going to be able to access.

Nice to have something on here that competed with Manga Storm, but it’s going to need a few more options as sources for me to consistently use it.

Another thing that I don’t like is that when you search for something and then click one of the mangas to see if that is the correct version of the manga you want to read, if you try to go to the previous page it just takes you back to the starting page of PaperbackMangaReader , rather than back to the search page. So those are my two main gripes currently.

It just needs the ability to sort by last updated in the advanced search this is a deal breaker for me

It’s free, has no ads, very good looking user interface, and just generally everything you’d want it a good manga app is here. You might be asking how do they earn money then, it surely can’t be free and have no ads, it sounds like a scam right? Well its not a scam and it runs on donations on Patreon and you can donate if you want to. The developer is doing an excellent job with making PaperbackMangaReader very useful, and it barely takes up any space on your device which is amazing considering how it has so many mangas it has on it. I would highly recommend PaperbackMangaReader to any manga lover that wants to read manga in peace.

I’ve been following this applications since the beginning parts of the development. I’ve used a number of builds up to this point and have been trying out the beta version. I can easily say that this application is the next big manga reader — maybe not for everyone but definitely for me. It is feature rich and has several must have features in the development pipeline.
I would definitely recommend checking it out.

This is a great app, although still in beta at the time I am writing this. I would like to show my support to the developers by recommending PaperbackMangaReader as I see the enormous potential in it. I see great things in the near future :)

Finally after so long a Mangadex app!!! Pretty good so far, app is not that laggy, searches are easy, etc. I can only find little errors which don’t bother me that much. Keep up the good work!

This is a really great alternative app for MangaRock refugees as myself. The UI is similar, and while only in beta, from what I know features such as downloading manga will be available in later builds. Keep it up, Paperback Team.

Really amazing app only thing right now is the language preference has to be put every time you open PaperbackMangaReader . Still love the application

Unlike all the other manga readers, this a manga reader that isn’t outdated and is regularly updated

Works really well with manga dex

Yep, this is epic.

Been a supporter of this project for awhile now and cannot praise it enough. Started out with Manga Storm nearly a decade ago and loved it (still do) but it was sorely lacking in features. Moving to Manga Rock filled the void of features but then decided Disney comics were the future.. Paperback is the only saving grace among all the remaining currency/coin based or ad ridden manga readers on iOS. With a very active and community-involved dev team, Paperback has a strong foundation and will only continue to improve. Features and updates are constantly being added. PaperbackMangaReader has quickly become one of my most used apps.
