Without a doubt this is the best app for hospitality on call work yet you could work 5 days if you wanted to. The app is very user friendly and very well designed. It shows you all your past gigs and past payments. And having worked for other temp companies, this is the easiest, they give all the info you need to decide if you want the shift like end time, exact location, what to wear etc... There is no guilt trip if you can’t pick up a Saturday. You also get rewards and bonuses, no other hospitality companies gives you this type of staff incentives. The staff is super friendly.
This app is amazing. I’ve applied to, gotten interviews, and been hired all in less than 24 hours at 3 different jobs within the past 3 years. If you’re trying to find work fast I definitely recommend this app. All you do is click a button and employers get all the information they need, then if they like you and decide to interview you, you can pick whatever interview time works for your schedule. However, it’s only jobs within the food industry so if that’s not your kick then this app isn’t for you. BUT I highly recommend. 20/5 stars.
This gig app seemed sketch, I signed up and deleted the app the got a call one day months later, they gave me work when I needed it and I keep doing gigs because the gigs they offer are typically always worth it. Great at and Thank you Clare and JP you both are excellent professionals. Great for experienced hustlers and professionals who wait tables and amazing for businesses who need employees to show up and do the work the right way.
I really like the Instawork app a lot. There’s often always a few gigs available throughout the week, but the app lacks variety in companies to work for e.g. Patina, Wolfgang Puck, Kitchen of Exploring Foods... The “profile setup” process was not as seamless as it suggests. I experienced many hiccups along the way like certification upload errors, quiz retaking, & reference requirements/verification to name a few. It took me roughly 2 weeks to be approved to book gigs. After approval, I received multiple emails stating my profile wasn’t complete. The Instawork staff that help with questions within the app do respond very fast, huge plus on that! I know that Instawork’s sole purpose is to provide people with an instant means to find work. However, the amount of notifications I receive in an hour, day, a week is sometimes overwhelming(especially if it’s for the same company.) Also, I wish the app DEFINED(in another color, or bolder text) the dates that set them apart from the gigs listed beneath.
So I’m writing this review in terms of working for Instawork. They don’t understand how gigs work. They go by feedback from other workers that could possibly don’t like you and wants to write you a bad feedback for yourself. Also, having to deal with Virgil is very inconvenient. They don’t respond to you right away and you have to wait for days to just get a response. I had one bad review from an event manager and they took it as I’m unprofessional when I been literally been doing these kinds of jobs for years! The deactivation process is so vague. That they don’t even want to deal with you and will deactivated your without a phone call about reason why they would do that; they also send a scripted message for anyone that gets deactivated. Once your deactivated there’s no coming back to working for them. How unprofessional!!
