It used to be great

2022-05-23

EbbTide used to show the exact time of high and low tide which made it very simple and useful. They recently took off the times and now it just shows a curved line which renders EbbTide useless.

I have found other apps that are better. Look for Tide Chart. It still has the time displayed for high and low tides and thus makes that app more useful in planing your day and when to schedule your walks along the beach.

EbbTide seems to have downgraded themselves to uselessness. Don’t bother with it.

Quick and easy app

2022-06-24

For fast reference on the tide in your area this is EbbTide to have. Very simple to understand. Just wish the time was still on the actual high and low tide instead of just visuals alone, otherwise I would recommend EbbTide.

Convenient app

2022-07-25

This tide app is quite simple….which is its advantage. You can easily find the exact time for high and low tides. From that you sort of guess the intermediate tide times, but, again, it is the simplicity that I like.

Would like scrolling feature

2022-08-26

I love the clean visuals. Love that there’s a widget. But I just wish I could scroll through the curve to see what the tides would be for any given time for the day. Can only see times for high and low on the curve, and current tide, so you have to guess if you’re interested in a time in between.

Great complication, pls add more stations

2022-09-27

My favorite part is definitely the Apple Watch Complications. I love that I can take a quick glance and see when the next thigh or low will be, this letting me determine next times to hit the beach. Please, please, please add stations south of the US border. Be sure to include the station in "La union, El Salvador". Again, great job with the complications.

Ebb Tide

Great tool for boating and cruising!
It’s on my watch for quick access all day.
Have to reset things from time to time. And have to fiddle with the graph before it updates on opening. 4/14 still having to mess with EbbTide randomly to make it read properly) will happily give 5 stars when debug happens.

It was good while it lasted

2022-11-29

This had been my go-to app for timing oystering and clamming on Cape Cod. I loved the simple, no nonsense UI. All the information I need with no clutter or advertising.

Sometime around the release of iOS 15.2.1, times vanished from the tide chart. 😕

If the developer is still working, an update would be warmly welcomed.

Simple & gets to the point!

2022-12-30

Couldn't be happier! Tried a few apps and what i especially like about this is how easy it is to find/change locations in your area which might not be "nearby". Just tap around the map. Other apps had u choose first from a list, when u might not know the name of the tide station, then there was no way to favorite them, so all u had was a "recents" and it actually was pretty annoying. Because trying to find the right location - bum searches would clear out ones u wanted to keep.

SO!!!!! My point is this is SO SIMPLE. The map stays around your area (i didn't do the gps location access) and u can easily tap a new location by sight, tap the tides, BAM. Also, much love for the joint calendar/tides screen so u can see high/low as u tap days on the calendar. Makes it much easier for say planning a trip or planning the right day/time to go snorkeling or whatnot.

Thank u, developer, for making an app that is so simple to use and gets all the fluff out of the way! It is streamlined and just enough to be everything that is needed! Very happy here!!! :D

Nice Little App

2023-01-31

If you want a nice little app that gives you the data you want easily without annoying ads, you've found what you're looking for with this one. Quick load, nice graphics and accurate.

CLEVERLY SIMPLE

2023-03-04

The visual is a wavy line with two peaks representing high tides and two valleys representing low tides and the corresponding time of day under each. The calendar is below that. After you set a location, all you do is tap the day (&/or month) you want to see. (A vertical red line intersects the current tide on the wavy line). The display could not be simpler. It is MUCH EASIER TO USE than the totally text charts I formerly relied on. I use it for beach walks where I want to avoid getting trapped on my way back by the highest tides up against tick infested plants and a chain link fence. (I do not use it to navigate the ocean.) I frequently recommend it to folks heading out for an evening beach walk as a higher tide is coming in. Usually they are clueless about the status of the tides, even men pushing strollers into the situation!

Simple and extremely . . .

2023-04-02

easy to see what's going on. An app that has no learning curve and works extremely well; I've used some others, but once I discovered this one, I never looked back!

Ebb tide

2023-05-04

I think the Ebb Tide app is great. Simple to use and I can see future tides whereas other tide apps only give a day or two.
It may not be accurate to the minute but then again you have high slack water and low slack water, close enough for me trailering my boat. Convenient 👍🏻👍

Best Tide Guide

2023-06-04

I need to know well in advance of extremely low tides to ensure that I can get my boat out of our cove when we are planning to have visitors who want to go boating. EbbTide does just that. Other apps may only provide a few days of tide info.

Perfect!

2023-07-06

I got EbbTide a year ago for the watch complication and it was extremely buggy. It has greatly improved and now it's perfectly stable. I love being able to glance at my watch to find out about the tides. It's also great to open up the phone app to see the large graph of the tide schedule. EbbTide is great!

First sign of trouble

2023-08-06

EbbTide has been performing perfectly since I installed it years ago, through many iOS and watchOS updates. Unfortunately, watchOS 7.1 seems to have broken it. I hope that the developer can quickly fix it.

Perfect!

2023-09-07

EbbTide is simple to use, you can buzz through the tide chart without having to pick a date, but you can pick a date if you want. I have EbbTide in my iPhone and Apple Watch. You can set the Ebb Tide app as a complication, so the next high or low tide appears in the watch face. You click on it, and you see the chart, etc. very helpful!! I have tried a few other apps, but this is exactly what I need.

Easy to view high and low tides

2023-10-09

I like this simple and easy to read graphic chart. Sometimes I like to see what the tide will be in the future, and you can easily scroll through and see other dates. My only suggestion is to have the current date highlighted more, so if you are scrolling to see other dates you can more easily distinguish today’s current tide versus the future.

A quick glance at the tide

2023-11-09

I been using EbbTide for at least six months now. I have found that it is great for getting a quick look at where the tide is heading either up or down and for an approximate time for a high or low.

Accurate values on the graph are difficult to read, but who needs a super accurate value anyway. I just want the big picture and that is what EbbTide will give you.

Novice

2023-12-11

Being relatively new to salt water I found EbbTide to be extremely helpful. The whole tide thing was confusing and since I normally fished early mornings and late in the day I was frequently at odds with the best fishing.
Now it's the first thing I check to plan my next outing. I fish mostly costal rivers and streams and a strong falling tide has been the best for me. So just a simple 1 or 2 minute check gets me the information I need.

Simple and practical

2024-01-11

I haven't taken the time to write an app review in the years I've been using an iPhone. Today I feel compelled after finding Ebb Tide. I live off a river and when large storms enter the area and the tide is high my house can be subject to some nasty flooding. I used some inferior apps to get by in the past but frustration lead me to Ebb Tide. Now I'm able to grab a quick snapshot of current tide conditions and days that are subject to more extreme tides. It's basically everything I needed.

One feature request would be the ability to set alerts for high, low, or specific thresholds on tides. Regardless, love EbbTide !

Love this app

2024-11-17

Love it! I go to the beach quite often and you can only drive on the beach with a lower tide. It’s always nice to know where the tide is. It also makes a difference with boggie boarding. I find the best time is high tide.

One small issue. My watch complication is off. It currently says low tide is in 64 hrs. And I know that that’s not right. If my watch complication worked better I’d give EbbTide 5 stars. But I just can’t since the watch is what i use most. If it doesn’t get fixed soon I’ll have to switch to a different app.

Great, easy to use

2024-11-17

Good calendar function. Smooth interface. The only thing I would change would be to able to know the time and magnitude of the tide when it's not at an extreme

Nice calendar

2024-11-17

One of the things I like best about EbbTide is how easy it is to look ahead on the calendar for planning purposes. Also, the graphic representation (wave) of the tide height is a nice addition to listing only the times. Highly recommend!

Simple, basic!

2024-11-17

Gives you the graphical information that you need quickly and easily. Intuitive with nothing fancy.

Trinity Bay Tide

2024-11-17

I live on the West Bank of Trinity Bay, Texas and tide levels are important to me daily even though the level change is minor. Tide level affects the access to open bay waters. So I have a stake in the water marked to indicate tide level . Love living on the Bay!calvincope
