UPDATED REVIEW: it’s been about a year or so since my initial review & sadly, still have NEVER RECEIVED A WEATHER ALERT! No favorites tab has been added. Still have to select which overlay on the map I want to view, and now have to zoom in on my location because it shows all of the US, Mexico, & Canada. The radar in motion is still clunky & slow, & that’s if it works @ all. Very disappointed. It’s really not even a 1 Star app @ this point.

NOAAWeatherTides does provide the detailed forecast from the NWS. & that's about the good thing.
You can set up weather alerts & there's an option for sound, but according to the developer you will only get these if you leave NOAAWeatherTides open. Really? I had several winter weather advisories for my area & did not receive a single notification of any of them.
Each time you enter NOAAWeatherTides it takes you to the map tab. Which is ok if you want that. There's no option to add a favorite tab. On this map, you have to select which overlay you want each time. It does not save the overlay you want. Causes additional taps & gets annoying. The overlays look clunky & not as accurate as the NWS radar.
Overall just a 2 star app right now. If the severe weather notifications were to actually work w/ sound, better map, ability to save a favorite tab & settings on the radar, could be the perfect app. Hopefully some things will be fixed/added

I have been using this weather app for about 3 months and have found it to be as reliable as forecasting the weather can be, especially in northern New England.

Love that this is easy to use, has a simple and informative interface, and while it has ads, they are not in your face about it. Every other weather app I tried drove me nuts with ads, this one does not! Love this.

Most important is the ability to have a pinpoint forecast accurate to the elevation of our home, as it is different from the surrounding area. This is the only app I have found that successfully provides that.

I like being able to click on the map and getting weather for anywhere in the mountains or other remote areas.

NOAAWeatherTides has everything I need in a weather app. Favorites, radar maps, accurate 7 day forecast. It works seamlessly and almost never has problems. Always kept up to date.

All features aside from the map are accessible with voiceover. When using voice over, you will need to use one of the tabs at the bottom to select another panel, since maps is the default.

I use NOAAWeatherTides regularly to stay informed about the weather in my area. Commercial weather services get their weather from NOAA. So, why not go to the source and get solid, focused information without all the alarmist junk commercial services like to pass off as news?

Great app. While it’s not as “fancy” as some other weather apps, I feel this gives you everything you need and nothing you don’t. I particularly like the pictures associated with the forecast. I also like how the info is drawn directly from noaa.

I have used NOAAWeatherTides for years. Excellent all the way. NOAA is where the official info comes from and NOAAWeatherTides lays it all out simple and complete...down to the easy access to the local forecast discussion written by the guys who interpret the models and algorithms.

NOAAWeatherTides gives all the info that the national weather service website gives, all in one place. This includes relevant warnings that you choose, including tsunami, which is important to me because I live about 25 ft above sea level. I don't use the website anymore, Just NOAAWeatherTides.

It gives me exactly what I need to know. If I were to change anything, it would be the map. It takes up 1/2 the screen and doesn’t do much except tell you where you are! But all in all, a great app. Thank you.

This is a great app. Use it daily. The satellite view is great for seeing if the rain is headed my way. I can add multiple cities so when I travel I can pack the right clothes and plan activities. Weather alerts are handy to keep me prepared for coming storms. It is all NOAA data which is fairly accurate. Highly recommend NOAAWeatherTides.

Love NOAAWeatherTides. Simple and Unique. Easy to use. Accurate from the nation's source. What I like and is unique is the "WINDS" layer. With the click of the mouse or a pinch and a squeeze, you can see the wind directions as a field of arrows over the entire Nation or zoom in to just your region.
I like to know when the wind is coming out of the north. And you can see what the approaching weather patterns will be after the system comes through

When I loaded IOS 13.5 my battery life went to nothing as several weather apps including this one ran continuously in the background. I contacted the developers and these folks were the only ones to answer. They found the issue and installed a fix that works! Can I give them six (6) stars? Keep up the great work!!

NOAAWeatherTides truly is the gold standard. You can pin point exact locations and save to your favorites list to quickly compare forecasts. The format is intuitive. The data is extremely detailed (hourly % precip, wind speed/direction, temp, cloud cover). NOAAWeatherTides is what I use to plan where I will be recreate 100% of the time, whether that’s skiing, climbing or biking.

I purchased this ad free and recently the ads are back. The restore purchase function doesn’t seem to work consistently. I wish someone would fix that because I am not paying another 3.99 to get rid of the ads again.
Otherwise I love NOAAWeatherTides . I believe it is accurate and updates frequently. I like being able to save locations also as I travel for work.

I used to pull this up on my computer way back when but now I have it on my iPhone and iPad. It’s not “slick” or fancy. NOAAWeatherTides give you fast reliable info. If you are expecting an event or are experiencing an approaching system, you can go from NOAAWeatherTides to their Website. This is where you can see radar, satellite and in depth forecast. You can find very technical scientific data there if needed.

Bottom line- it’s a reliable weather app with science behind the data.

For accurate NOAA weather NOAAWeatherTides has a great feature set. It has taken the best features of the NOAA website and put them into NOAAWeatherTides. It even has a button to take you to the webpage in safari if you want. The developers are very responsive to questions and help.

I have never received one notification from NOAAWeatherTides even though it’s supposed to be a weather app that could potentially save lives. Also as of today I haven’t been able to get my forecast. And finally the radar is crap compared to other apps out there. I’ll probably just switch to another weather app since NOAAWeatherTides never works!

I have been using this weather app for a few years and I love it. It let’s me know when bad weather is coming. And the radar is the only radar I trust.

As a weather fanatic, I’ve downloaded just about every weather app on the market. This is by far the best use of National Weather Service data as well as the user interface. Gladly paid to remove the ads. Please keep up the good work!!

In my experience the predictions are the closest to what really happens. The interactive map makes forecasting for exactly where you are quick and easy.
