Tried and tried to enter +1 911--NO GO. Apparently, for "regulatory reasons", Parachute DOES NOT ALLOW ENTRY OF "+1(911)". This makes Parachute pretty useless if you are say leaving work in a hospital when on call, & getting attacked in a parking garage, DESPITE TAKING EVERY PRECAUTION POSSIBLE. It's highly doubtful that any "friend" or "emergency contact" will be able to help you in the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, unless you get LUCKY ENOUGH for them to hear their phone ring when they are dead asleep. EVEN if they DO hear their phone ring, they won't have your EXACT location. Having NON-emergency operators "ping" your phone (& finding my killer on exactly which of 12 parking garage floors) will likely take up time that is probably the difference between life & death. Good idea, BAD execution. I DID enter the NON-emergency # for the police department, but in my city, our city limits include NINE COUNTIES. The likelihood of getting EMERGENCY help @ 3 A.M. by calling a NON-emergency number (that covers all nine counties) falls exponentially. Our "911" routes the caller to the closest station in the correct county.

Absolutely DISGUSTED that this is now a subscription app. I've had it for years and luckily never had to use it. Really glad I didn't ever try only to find out I had to pay mid-emergency. Deleting Parachute immediately.

I can’t even activate it

It's waaaaay too easy to open Parachute and get it started. If my kid opens Parachute, she knows she only has to hold her finger on the screen - anywhere inside of the circle that takes up half of the size of my phone - for only a couple of seconds and it'll start recording. Then I have to field calls from my emergency contacts as to why 'this app' is calling/texting/emailing them. Plus, now that it's called "this app" and not Witness, I have to constantly remind myself that it's not, in fact, a game and for the love of God, don't open this friggin thing because I definitely do NOT want my emergency contacts being notified in umpteen ways that I've activated the bloody app. Ugh. There should be some sort of trigger before it starts notifying everyone the second it's activated.

Used it for the first time during police stop. I asked Siri to activate the application as I have it setup in a shortcut. The application still required me to unlock my phone so it would start. I had the time to do this. Others may not. It works well besides this activation feature glitch.

Ummmm my contacts are not certified to help in emergencies! I just downloaded Parachute and I’m just figuring out it doesn’t call 911?? I may cancel. What’s the point if I have to solely depend on them for help .

Phenomenal app that delivers a live feed and activity to emergency contacts in a fast and direct manner, however (and as some other reviews warn) I gave my family and friends the biggest scare of their lives, especially since my father just passed away.

While I did read the description and pages through Parachute image gallery, guidance beyond that was limited.

Developers of this app, well done! But would you mind slapping a tutorial on the front of Parachute to warn nincompoops like me that Parachute doesn't have a "test" switch, and that it should be used with caution? I'll hopefully be reviewing Parachute with a better rating soon! Thanks, and keep up the great work!

For me this is something I need to have on my phone cause I go out alone all the time and as I am under 18 it worry’s me that what if I am ever in danger? Parachute helps me as a panic button to alert my family I need help. To have this so easy to access it is a great tool to keep you safe.

I downloaded this after hearing about it on CSI Cyber, problem is, there are no instructions, setting it up was easy enough adding your emergency contacts, but it doesnt tell you what to do with it once its set up, so while playing around with it, I inadvertantly sent my contacts notices that I needed help!! I dont like finding out how to use something like this by crying wolf.

Like others I was watching CSI cyber and heard this. I wondered if it was a real app and sure it enough it is. It does exactly what it states it does.

In case of emergency just hit the button, after set up, and location, voice, and video, are activated. A phone call goes to your emergency contact after a text is sent allowing them to know that it's been activated to to click the link from there text.

There are no directions in Parachute so you need to test it out to learn about it.

NOTE- Heed the warnings from others and try this using you as the emergency contact first before adding others. And only use in an emergency. Let your emergency contacts know about Parachute as well so they know.

I love Parachute so far, but I have an iPod, and I was wondering if I need wifi in order for my emergency contacts to get the message?

Tested this and it works. I've been using Witness for personal protection when working late at night. I like the stealth recording. It will make me feel much safer using this. It took me a while to figure out how to get it to show on the notifications screen (you have to hit the edit button at the bottom). The only thing with the notifications screen is that I also need to put in my fingerprint to unlock the phone and that slows it down. Strongly recommended

Used it and tested it, didn't tell anyone I was testing oops, and within a couples minutes I had five people call to see if I was ill. I then went to the link it sent me and it actually showed the video of what I was doing, locations of where I was with times, all the times of each person texted and called. It's amazing. Would love to have this on my lock screen, someway for quick easy access so I don't have to turn phone on to push activate.

I downloaded the application for use as I am 63 and have medications that can cause me to be dizzy and fall. I wanted to be able to alert my family in case something happened where I needed help. I fired it off by mistake just testing it to see what would happen (dah) when I press the button thinking that it would give me an opportunity not to send the signal however it immediately fired off and contacted all family members with an emergency alert. My family members in mediately responded as I was texting them to tell them it was a false alert. This is an amazing piece of software. Just be careful realize that pressing it does truly activated 100%. Thank you developers. I feel very confident in its capability to alert others for me in an emergency situation.

This emergency app is the real thing. It's simple to set up and it's thorough. Provides full location data, live video and sound recording all delivered to all your emergency contacts immediately after you release your you touch from your screen...immediately it will email, text and call all the numbers on you emergency list alerting your loved ones that there is trouble and providing the detailed location information, video and sound recorded. It won't call 911 but tells your contacts to try and contact you immediately and/or call 911.

WARNING: Parachute is really simple to set up. If you want to test it make sure you add only your number to the emergency list for your trial run because once it's set up it works!! I set up my list and then gave it a test run and immediately started getting phone calls from worried friends and family!! It works great but it works RIGHT AWAY. No test run.

Love it!
