Very Slow response time, horrible communication

I live in a building where this service is offered. I have yet to have an experience with them that makes me want to continue. They are also closed on weekends. So, What’s the point...
The very 1st time I contacted them for a service they took so long that even my leasing agent recommended I use task rabbit. And i did!
I decided to give them another chance when I needed assistance putting some furniture together, and the same thing.... they take hours or sometimes days to give you simple “yes or no” answers. The last straw I contacted them a week in advance for moving services and the same ongoing problem with the response time. I didn’t get a solid confirmation until the day before the move. It left me feeling uneasy and stressed the whole week. To add to that the movers they got me were booked for 3.5 hrs and they charged me for 4. Stating that since it’s by the house they had to do 4 hours, but why not 3? It’s also not hard to do half time, i charge by the hour for my work and never round it off. It makes zero sense.
To be honest I could have facilitated it all much quicker and not be over charge. You guys have ALOT of kinks to works out if you ever want me to use this service again!

Stay away from Alfred

Alfred is a cool idea, bur their customer service is very poor (LA). Slow, unprofessional and on top of that their pricing is much higher than what services cost elsewhere. They also incorrectly charged us for cleaning services that did not take place. Instead of making it right or saying that they are sorry, they came back to me with a price increase. Most unprofessional imo.

We have weekly “tidy up” included - a service they have cancelled due to Covid. Fair enough. But cleaning services that they charge for go on as before. Where is the consistency in that? Other than them saving money…

This company is pure trash

The leasing office was pushing this. First time using it they couldn’t even schedule a simple car wash and then it took them forever to respond. Went through the effort to leave keys at concierge since I was going out of town. I didn’t see a charge for the scheduled day. Emailed Alfred and they had no clue, I’m sure they knew but just played dumb. Needless to say it’s been over a week without any communication that the schedule car wash never happened I guess they are still following up with their vendor

Then had the audacity to ask to get unsupervised entry to my apartment to get the key. Sure I let strangers walk nilly Willy in my apartment just so that things come up missing. The way they operate I wouldn’t trust them with anything unsupervised let alone schedule anything for you

Totally incompetent and useless. I asked them to delete my account and billing which was about 3 or 4 days and still no response.

You’ve been warned!

Get it together

If this company could get it together it would be a great service but....
1. They emailed me to give me a free gift of wine, flowers, or chocolate... then never delivered. When I inquired the answer was “so sorry, it was a glitch on our end...”-
2. Sent me a survey about 50 pages long for a $10 discount.... never applied the discount.
3. First time home cleaners came the floor wasn’t cleaned, and they left a vase I bought in Spain on the couch for the dog to knock over. Said they would give $10 off next service. Never did
3. Second time the home cleaners came the knocked a magnet to the floor that I purchased in Italy...
4. The third time the home cleaners and Alfred came they did a terrible job. The duvet cover was left in the place they instructed, but made the bed without it forcing me to take the bed apart and remake. Did not vacuum the rug and I ended up doing it on my time off from work when I paid near $100 to have it done. Also left a broken down box for me to take out... again the price of the home cleaning isn’t cheap. And naturally the Alfred had no problem taking the tip I left.
5. The Alfred came in today... no home cleaners.... but yet charged me a $100 home cleaning fee.... and it’s almost impossible to get in touch with anyone after 2pm on a Friday. I’m over it. This company is truly disappointing when it had so much potential

Possibly the worst company ever

I was very excited to use the Alfred service and one of the reasons I selected the apartment I did. Included in my rent- weekly tiddy up, package delivery and a monthly cleaning.
In 52 weeks the packages were delivered correctly 3 times. Week after week it was a different story and instead of having them delivered the next day the day would consist of back and forth emails. One time I was told sorry Alfred is all booked today. Well you messed up yesterday shouldn’t you put me at the top of the list.
Cleaning service - I was away and opted to use this for 3 months. Before my return I confirmed the appointment. Cleaner never came.
I could go on and on but I won’t.
To sum up this might be the worst company o have ever done business with. And instead of making hour like easier they actually make it harder.

Real Sketch Company. Here’s my scenario

Hey if you’re thinking about using Alfred; I just want to share my experience and you can choose to use them or not.

So I had a cleaning done today and the person came over and cleaned for 15mins broke the bathroom mirror on the wall and simply just left without cleaning the home. I reported it to office staff and they said they had actually just dropped Alfred as a service. I called Alfred to see if they could like..pay for the broken mirror which isn’t mine it’s Shorewood (my apartment), but they basically told me to go fly a kite and that they weren’t going to charge me for the cleaning, which why would they if the person didn’t clean?

Anywho, that was my experience so you know..I guess if you decide to use them hopefully you won’t have the same situation like me.

Worthless in certain areas

Where I live they keep pushing it on us so I decided to check it out.. I guess I don’t understand the purpose.. the things I read said you can schedule house cleaning and random stuff like let the cable guy in etc which I thought was neat esp the cleanings but when I open HelloAlfred the only options are grocery flowers and like to pick up prescriptions.. maybe it’s a service only for old people who don’t know how to use other services and just use it because there building tells them to since they don’t know how to any other way? Mabye what’s offered is different depending on the city and they just happen to not have anything here I don’t know but I don’t understand why I should use this instead of the other options that have a lot more ?

Over charges !!!!

I booked a moving service recently, the price they gave me was higher than what the moving company charged them plus I have to pay 12% service fee on top of that. The worst part was I said I am ok to pay 12% service (which I think it is ridiculously expensive, but I agreed anyway), but I was not ok they over charged me on top of service fee.
The moving company charged $607 for 3 hours, they lied to me by saying the moving company charged them $635, the moving company staff made a mistake on my invoice. I called the moving company, guess what? Alfred have never reached out to them and the moving company never over charged them. Pure lies….. My building is no longer working with Alfred and I will never use this company again!

Worthless + hidden fees

Update: Got a response on time finally. They charge 5% for payment and then another 7% of misc fees for bookings on top of the monthly fee you already pay. No reason to use them.

HelloAlfred has been worthless every time I try to use it. Scheduled cleaners and after 24 hours of back and forth they couldn’t book anyone. Why would I pay a 5% fee to spend more time than it would take to call a service myself? Tried to use the included prescription pickup and no one ever replied. This is worse than a “personal concierge” since you spend most of your time waiting to hear back from or trying to get their reps to do what they are supposed to do.

The worst customer service and app

HelloAlfred is so basic that I think a junior coder in elementary school could build it. The service cancels your order with less than 24 hours notice and they use different people each week so the service is inconsistent. The Alfreds don’t look at the receipt after shopping so sometimes there are extra charges of groceries you didn’t even request or get. HelloAlfred does not allow you to sort your grocery list or store previous orders or purchases. HelloAlfred is very poorly designed. I only use the service because it is built in as an amenity to my very expensive rent.

If I could give less stars I would

HelloAlfred is full of bugs. It constantly glitches and closes. Maintenance requests don’t get responded to (and my apartments team is excellent and will text me and get it done once I email them directly). I had tried to set up home cleaning and first the person set it up for weekly even though I selected twice a month. Then they “fixed” it and now person did not come at all- even after Alfred sent me an email in advance of the service. My home has been cleaned twice, it’s over priced but they did an amazing job. HelloAlfred is the word I’ve used. I wish my apartment had never switched over.

Terrible Customer Service

As a Related resident in San Francisco, Hello Alfred is offered as an amenity in our building. My main complaint is that the vendors they use are not consistent in quality and customer service couldn’t care less. We previously used handy services which were AMAZING! But - I’m now doubtful I’ll ever use Alfred again after multiple home cleaning fiascos. Over a span of 4 months for a bi-weekly service, we’ve had our cleaning skipped entirely, have had a room skipped for what is supposed to be a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom service - and have been incorrectly charged for one-time service add-ons. If customer service wasn’t so difficult to reach, and these issues were remedied quicker, I wouldn’t be complaining. I understand mistakes are made. They’re closed on weekends, and my home cleaning is scheduled for Fridays. I’ve gone 5 days without a response on these issues… all as they happily charge my credit card. There is no emergency phone number to reach them in case of service issues. You’re just stuck, waiting for a chat response on their app from employees who rarely ever seem to be working.

Service Rocks, App is a bit rough

Hello Alfred is fantastic. Highly recommend.

App has some growing pains to work out still. Making lists is the worst part. The pre-selectable list is lacking, which would be fine if adding and editing “custom” items were easier. I consistently lose sight of my list entirely when the keyboard comes up, and HelloAlfred responds slowly when you try to perform edits. Fortunately everything saves, so I’ve yet to lose a list.

Best app for Groceries

I absolutely love HelloAlfred for groceries because
of these reasons:
1) you pay exactly what the items cost.
2) you order items from, and talk to a real person not a program.
3) you can include photos and details of the items you want to ensure you get the exact thing you want from the grocery store.
4) they deliver the groceries pretty early in the day around like 10-11 am.
5) the shoppers are smart and shop efficiently and in a cost effective way.
6) if you have any questions, a real person messages you and helps you out.
7) a super cute handwritten note from the shopper with every delivery 💗

I will continue to use HelloAlfred even after the lockdown is lifted. Thank you Hello Alfred!! 😊

Very grateful to have Alfred

They take care of me in a way that’s hard to describe. I get my life back knowing I have someone taking care of all the things that need to get done in life. HelloAlfred is slick and I have a home manager that visits each week with groceries and laundry packages RX. I basically give them my to do list and am using them for more and more. It’s a great replacement to shopping online. If you use this service you’ll see what I mean, I don’t know how I lived without it. This company is actually amazing.

Great service!

Alfred has been such a pleasant experience and is a valued part of my apartment living. This weekly tidy-up visit is just right for my lifestyle. CeCe is such a delightful “Alfred”, and I find myself looking forward to her hand written personal notes.

I also have Alfred provide my cleaning service on a monthly basis, and have used the dry cleaning and grocery services. Every one has exceeded my expectations.

Can’t live without it

Since starting the service, I’ve become so accustomed to the convenience of having my trash removed, my bed made, my laundry taken care of, and my fridge stocked that I just don’t know how I’d live without it. My Alfred even makes valuable suggestions for additional help when seeing things out of place like my guitar unstrung for several weeks. Given how much we pay in rent in NYC, every apartment should come with a service like this. And my Alfred has really become a trusted friend. Highly recommend for any resident!

Totally worth it.

If you’re lucky to live in a building that has this service, you’re in for a treat. Groceries delivered and put away for a small percentage, the trash taken out, your dishes loaded and unloaded from the dishwasher, packages dropped off for mailing, your living space lightly tidied up - what is included is amazing...your Alfred does it all. If you need additional things, most likely they can be arranged. HelloAlfred is easy to use and the team is very responsive. I’ve only used the service for a few months, but already I can’t imagine my life without it. The team truly takes care of the little things so you can relax and enjoy life.

Working tirelessly to keep you happy

If your building has Alfred or you are able to subscribe to it (not sure if they do solo subscriptions anymore?) then I highly recommend it! For busy professionals it’s a true lifesaver to never have to worry about grocery shopping, mailing that package before the post office closes, finding a reliable housekeeper and getting them to actually show up and clean, etc. Loving the new services I’m seeing in HelloAlfred lately including smaller spot cleaning and breakfast options. The Alfred service team also works fiercely to make sure everything goes smoothly. They read and respond to all feedback and any help messages you send through HelloAlfred . Kudos to Jon for answering at all hours!

We can’t say how much we appreciate the grocery service which Alfred’s has added. Our delivery comes smoothly, professionally, and very dependably, every week. Every question we have is quickly and cheerfully answered. The “Alfreds” who place the bags outside our door are simply the best. We wish each of them well and and thank them for all the beautiful food.
