Step counter algorithm is wrong and miscalculation widespread.

2024-05-07

We were initially impressed by the fact that a community can work together in their goals to walking towards fitness. Then we realized that there r fundamental problems. 1. The phone app measures the steps completely wrong. People have been moving phone up and down while on sofa and still get step counts increased. 2) step count average calculators is also wrong. Step count only averages out for the days you walk. It should be entire days so far in the month. Please correct the bugs or your app is not going to succeed. Just a honest critic.

Still won’t let me add friends …

2024-04-11

My wife and I want to keep track of each other’s steps … We used to be on each other’s “friends list” but StepUpPedometerStepCounter deleted them.
So we both followed the directions and sent invitations to each other via text message, as per the instructions … but when we both accepted, nothing happens.
This problem has been going on for months.
We can’t delete and reinstall our apps or we’d lose 2+ years of progress.

Mixed feelings

2024-04-05

I like StepUpPedometerStepCounter because you can add your friends, create challenges & their steps are visible to everyone to keep track of. I’m disappointed because it’s so difficult for my friends with Fitbit/android phones to join. It’s really frustrating! I’ve reached out twice in hopes to get some help and I haven’t heard anything yet. I can’t even set a start date & end time because it’s not giving me the option to click on march.

Facebook required😔

2024-05-07

There aren’t enough words to describe how excited I was to get StepUpPedometerStepCounter. I scrolled through every search result from google; went in StepUpPedometerStepCounter Store an read reviews and they all fell short. I was so pumped to see my watch connected right away. It was a match made in heaven. Then I tried to add my wife only to find out I had to have Facebook. I don’t have it and don’t desire to have it. 😭 I thought I finally found the platform to compete with family/friends without using Facebook. I know StepUpPedometerStepCounter is great, unfortunately I won’t be able to enjoy it to its fullest extent without succumbing to Facebook.

ALMOST what I’m Looking For!

2024-09-02

We were going to use StepUpPedometerStepCounter in a workplace walking challenge but you can only see the teams players exact steps for the current day and previous day. After that, it only records average steps and not the exact count. As the admin, I’m not about to check everyone’s steps every single day including weekends to get an accurate count. IT WOULD BE AWESOME IF YOU COULD CHANGE THIS ASAP. We start the challenge on August 1st and I have the task of finding the perfect app and this one checks every box except for this ONE FATAL FLAW.

Almost Perfect but it Can’t Be Used Without Phone

2024-06-24

I can’t use StepUpPedometerStepCounter because I only wear my Fitbit when I go walking or running. I rarely take my phone because it’s enormous. StepUpPedometerStepCounter may say it syncs with other devices, but I can’t even get to the dashboard because I downloaded StepUpPedometerStepCounter on my iPad thinking that I can just upload my steps at the end of the day from my tracker, but the sign-up process says that this device (iPad) does not track steps so I cannot use StepUpPedometerStepCounter . It would be AMAZING if I could have StepUpPedometerStepCounter on a non-phone device like the Fitbit and Garmin apps, and sync my steps from those trackers or websites without having to haul my phone on a run. I was psyched about StepUpPedometerStepCounter but now I’m totally bummed. I have a super cheap phone and I can’t download apps on it anyway. I use my iPad and laptop for that stuff. :(

Losing steps

2024-09-01

Half the time when I get on to check StepUpPedometerStepCounter my number of steps goes down instead of up. This often happens after I’ve been out walking for 10-20 minutes. Steps shouldn’t ever go down—if they’re logged, keep them. Can’t tell you how frustrating it is to get on after walking around for 20 minutes and see 1000+ steps, then watch it drop to 800 in seconds. Makes me not want to bother checking StepUpPedometerStepCounter at all because it’s ridiculously discouraging. If you want to encourage people to use your app, fix this.

“Lazy Bot” is a brilliant idea!

2024-04-27

StepUpPedometerStepCounter is, like many others, a competent step counter. The idea of a “lazy bot,“ is what makes StepUpPedometerStepCounter *potentially* so brilliant.

StepUpPedometerStepCounter makes you want to stay ahead of the lazy bot while also giving you something to try to pass (a more ambitious sibling). That said, the lazy but does not seem to get any better.

The developer should program the lazy bot to stay hot on your heels behind you, sometimes even passing you. There is quite a lot that could be done with this gamification.

This would be the first app with a fun built-in incentive to get faster... which means to get a better walking workout!

StepUpPedometerStepCounter deserves three stars without the bottom, 10 stars with a fully functioning smart bot (this does not require A.I. or anything, just some simple algorithms).

Anyway, I split the difference and gave it four stars. More than stars, I would happily give dollars to an app that made walking fun all by yourself.

And if the developer took it to the next level, with directionality and using the screen for a simple video game type scenario… Wow!

This deserves to be much more.

Beginners Greatness

2024-04-27

This is a simple app that does what you need. It records your progress and it gives you healthy (two bots) competitors. So you’ll know where you are. It fits my needs, I don’t have to pay for it like the others that does the same thing and may have more stuff but I know I wouldn’t use. I don’t have to turn it on like others, it just records your motion and it syncs to devices (mine is an Apple Watch).

Love the app, hate the Facebook nagging

2024-04-27

I use StepUpPedometerStepCounter and really enjoy it. But if I keep getting interventions on the app from Facebook ( that sometimes block the screen and my ability to use it) I will have to delete StepUpPedometerStepCounter and look for a similar one elsewhere.

The last thing I want is to have friends and others involved in what is a private health activity.

great fun app

2024-06-24

I enjoy using StepUpPedometerStepCounter and comparing steps with friends. It’s good motivation to really push yourself as well as being able to set daily goals.

Issues
- profile picture won’t change or update or save
- the link when sharing with people to join the groups does not always connect properly and sometimes just sends u to StepUpPedometerStepCounter store even though StepUpPedometerStepCounter is already downloaded

Algorithm needs to be updated

2024-04-27

I really like StepUpPedometerStepCounter except the algorithm should be adjusted to count days that aren’t entered as 0. Otherwise a person can log one large day in a week and not log any other days and be way ahead of people that are logging everyday that have a higher step count overall. Works the same for the month algorithm as well. Both should be fixed to have it truly be an average of the last week or month.

Love it but here’s some ideas

2024-10-11

I'm really enjoying StepUpPedometerStepCounter ; it's a fantastic way to get everyone active. I have a couple of suggestions for improvement: adding a chat feature would be great for smack talk and encouragement among users. Additionally, implementing a fund-holding feature for things like a pot could be beneficial, allowing users to cash out for bets. You could even take a small percentage of the transactions to support StepUpPedometerStepCounter ’s ongoing development.

Give that girl a credit

2024-09-20

Hey, step up does this girl that is East African she Somali she blew your app and I hope you guys give her credit because I don’t see the credit that you guys given it because there’s a lot of east Africans are downloading StepUpPedometerStepCounter and using it every daily so before we cancel you I hope you give the credit what it belongs to. Thank you.

One of the Few Good Apps in Existence

2024-05-14

StepUp, along with my coworker who is always a step (or two thousand) ahead of me, has helped raise my step count from an average of 4035 to an average of 8513… IN ONE WEEK. I had already mentally committed to getting more active, but the low stakes, gentle competition encouraged by StepUp has been the outside motivation I needed. Thank you!

Still enjoying it and now challenging some family members to participate!!

2024-09-20

Really enjoy just picking up my phone and seeing how many steps I’ve taken!!!

It has really helped to motivate me and we’ve had fun as a family to get the most steps!! It makes me happy to be able to challenge them to be more healthy, and to do it in a fun way!

Thank you!!!

Not accurate

2024-09-20

I loved StepUpPedometerStepCounter because of the challenge, seeing where my friends are in the day it definitely made it more competitive but then I realized it doesn’t link up with my Apple Watch. Super disappointing! And if you just shake your phone it thinks your making steps, I have Apple fitness and my steps didn’t add up to the Step Up app. So I’m deleting.

Not as good as I hoped for. I move constantly in and out of my.

2024-05-14

I am disabled only trough my will I average a little yes than 6,000 steps a day

Envelope on the best days and weeks when I am able to get close to 10,800 steps a day.

The robot always makes me feel much less. I believe that the robot pace is unrealistic & and may cause people to give Up.

Good when it works

2024-07-12

The program would work and make others happier if it would stop deleting the friends every time there is an update with an APPLE product. Every time my iPhone is due for an update, all my friends are wiped clean off my Step Up App. You will continually get a low score from me until you figure out a way to change this.

Me

2024-07-12

I have used StepUp for approximately 2 years, but in the past 2 months, my friends have disappeared from my screen and I cannot get them back. Your app is telling me that I am offline, but I am not.

I sent this review a week or so ago. And you published a message saying you would have a fix fir this problem in a week. Still no fix, and you are not responding to me. What is the problem and why aren’t you fixing it?

I’m Making Steps A Little at a Time

2024-09-01

I rated Steps 5 stars because it encourages me so much.
Having arthritis in my entire body, I barely make my goals. Sometimes l’m not able to get out of bed but I be pushing myself to walk to the bathroom or other rooms in the house.
Today I was able to do over my goals.
What helps me most of all is when I reach my goals and get celebrated with the confetti.
Thank you for this amazing program.

Midnight worker needs time change

2024-07-12

I love it although it would be better suited for my daily count if I could change the time for my 24 hour count.

I work at night. My shift starts at 6:30 pm till 8:00 am. Meaning I'm in bed by 10:00 am and don't get up until 3:00pm. But my steps change over at midnight to 0 again.

I need to count my steps from 3:00 pm until 10:00 or 11:00 am. And different on my off days.

Just downloaded! Love it

2024-05-14

I just downloaded StepUpPedometerStepCounter and so far it is doing all I need and more. I need to track my steps and this does that and tells me how many calories I have used to take those steps. I am sure as I use it I will continue to enjoy using it. Thanks for making an app that you don't need a Computer degree to make it work for you!!!

Great App!!!

2024-06-24

I recently downloaded the StepUp app and it’s been a game changer for my daily routine! StepUpPedometerStepCounter is incredibly user-friendly and motivates me to stay active throughout the day. The step tracking is accurate and the daily challenges keep things interesting. The interface is sleek and easy to navigate. Highly recommend StepUp for anyone looking to elevate their fitness game!

Such a fun way to be more active

2024-05-28

Do not download StepUpPedometerStepCounter if you don’t want to be more active and lose weight while encouraging your friends to do the same.
In all seriousness, StepUpPedometerStepCounter is such a simple way to find motivation to be more active with your loved ones. I have step challenges with friends, coworkers and family and StepUpPedometerStepCounter makes it really easy and fun for us to track of each others progress.

How to do it

2024-09-20

Challenge when you see everybody else, what their steps are it makes you want to go and get it and it benefit me to keep my weight down as a 60 year old woman I will say warmer that who ran track and was a cheerleader very active and I am glad and thankful that the good Lord still have me at and I’m still able to walk to run to Work Out and for me to do these challenge so thank you for these challenge

Excellent app

2024-05-14

Clean interface not muddled by worthless ads. If you just want to count steps in real time (Apple Health seems to update step count whenever it feels like it), this is StepUpPedometerStepCounter for you. Customizing stride length for more accurate distance measuring and step counting would be a great addition but not sure if the extra precision would be that much more helpful. Overall an excellent app for its elegant simplicity.

The results of friendly competition and positive peer pressure

2024-07-12

At first, I wasn't keen on downloading StepUpPedometerStepCounter, but my friends talked me into it. To my surprise, I've really enjoyed the friendly competition and the positive peer pressure. For the past few weeks, our group chat has been full of playful taunts, teasing, and cheering each other on. I’ve seen a lot of improvement in myself and my friends. Since using StepUpPedometerStepCounter , I've been walking about 3-4 miles more a day, even on bad days at least 2 miles. Before using StepUpPedometerStepCounter, I would only walk 0.5-2 miles max. My friends keep me accountable on my lazy days, and it's been really helpful. Love StepUpPedometerStepCounter, and would definitely recommend! Keep it up!

Stepup

2024-06-24

I love StepUpPedometerStepCounter. I am 83 and am crippled but I can go to the grocery store and grab a cart and get my mile a day plus my regular steps in a split foyer. I average more than a mile a day. I had my first ever surgery right before my 83rd birthday and my goal was to get back to at least a mile a day. I have accomplished that and more. I love StepUpPedometerStepCounter. I show it to people who want to count steps.

Keeping Track

2024-04-05

What a wonderful way to keep track of your steps on a daily basis and be able to see how you did for the week. I love the simplicity of StepUpPedometerStepCounter. I do not need all the bells and whistles.

One of the best features is that it keeps your best day and week on the list until you beat it.
