Awful Customer Support. Awful equipment

Our keypad failed to clear a fire alarm with both sets of codes. Tech support failed to call us to confirm emergency before sending FD. We didn’t have our phones with us to disarm the system via GuardianProtection . Every alarm in the house was going off for 15-20mins until we (ourselves) could clear the alarm with GuardianProtection . They couldn’t do it remotely while on the phone, and the panel was still registering a fire with sound alarm. We couldn’t clear the panel. After 1hr + on the phone with tech support reentering sequences of codes we said enough and asked for a tech to come out. They then wanted to charge US to have a tech respond to service/replace the panel…a full week later! Terrible…after much chagrin and complaint, they were willing to waive the service fee. Awful customer service and business model. We were considering canceling right there and now but Guardian would charge us $800 early cancellation fee. Yup! Typical tech contract scheme with poor customer support and ownership. I decided to use GuardianProtection disarm ‘at home’ feature and sure enough…it cleared the panel. No thanks to support or the panel instructions. Horrible. Avoid this service. Don’t reactivate or renew and enjoy your useless home décor.

I would give zero stars if I could

GuardianProtection is no help. My stupid doorbell camera went on the fritz about 4 months ago and nothing seems to fix it! It is constantly shutting down and says it is loosing connectivity. What good is having the camera if it only work intermittently?!?!?! It says how to fix it, but you have to be home to do it?! I got this system because I work 48 hours straight, very disappointing. I’m not going to pay almost $100 for someone to come out again, THAT IS RIDICULOUS! I’m ready to switch to Ring or another company. I tried to go to customer service on GuardianProtection and send an email, due to being at work, and I get a mailer demon email stating the email address is not able to go through so then I click on the service ticket in GuardianProtection and I get an error message and get kicked out of the customer service area. What a joke. On top of that, the thermostat settings don’t work. I did a set temperature for both the week and weekends and no matter what I set it at it constantly changes itself to 80-83 degrees! Those aren’t even temperatures I have set in GuardianProtection so I have no clue where it is coming from.

App crashes

GuardianProtection crashes and frequently doesn’t communicate with remote devices. This past Monday I stood in the garage for 15 minutes trying to disarm the system. I kept getting a message that GuardianProtection couldn’t communicate with the server. I had no choice but to just go in. I wasn’t going to spend all afternoon in the garage. So I enter my house setting off the alarm. I immediately disarmed the system. Unfortunately, it wasn’t communicating with the monitoring station. 12 minutes later the police show up (I’m glad they checked). Then at the 15 minute mark Guardian calls. While on the call, the rep says the disarm signal just came across. Wow.
There should be a back up. Customers shouldn’t be left high and dry when GuardianProtection goes down.

Beware if use Guardian

Guardian represents contract transfers as the result of moves. However, they put people in a new contract for extended period without telling them they didn’t do the transfer of initial contract. Then they won’t honor what there staff tell you without multiple phone calls and having to speak with a supervisor. The supervisors did finally help, but it was unnecessary to waste time and money on this type of nonsense.

Now trying to post review and app won’t let me, without having me repeat posting step multiple times. Go figure, if give one star you can’t post, but if you change stars to 4 or 5 it let’s you post

Horrible

There is no way to access your home if you are locked out and the signal is down for the phone app. I had no idea the phone app wasn’t working. So when I was locked out I thought I could just log in to GuardianProtection and open the garage. But obviously no one thought of this issue and have no way for the resident to get into the home. There should have been a coded box on the outside for access in this situation. I really wish I had gone with vivint but gaurdian trucked us into thinking we had to use them. Completely u satisfied and changing companies as soon as I can without the bs penalty they charge. Do not get this system as it is obsolete. Out of date and simply basic and horrible in today’s tech savy world. 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾

Needs one important feature to be perfect

GuardianProtection is simple and easy to use, no learning curve whatsoever. I do like to suggest one feature to be implemented: to arm and disarm by timer, like a programmable thermostat.

There are people in my family who don't have access or don't know how to use the wall control panel, but they get up really early in the morning and like to go out and exercise. I wish I could progam GuardianProtection to disarm at say 6am, without me having to wake up and do it myself.

App Delays and Doesn’t Tell You

We’ve had GuardianProtection for about two years. We pay $200 a month for high quality internet and cable. Somehow, since we’ve had this system it constantly delays notices, and doesn’t arm as prompt as you would hope in an emergency. We’ve notified Guardian several times and they bring a tech out to end up not figuring out the issue, or it becomes a temporary fix. Now it makes sense why they have you under contract. We would NOT recommend their security system or cameras.

Guardian protection services

I wish I could enjoy this system, but there is always a malfunction. Having security for my family and I is a big deal, especially since the military sends me out of town very often. I have had the system for about a month now and I am not enjoying it. For reason malfunctions keep popping up. I cannot trouble shoot the malfunction unless a tech comes out to my house. Fortunately I still have warranty so I am not being charged for all the tech visits, but what about when my warranty goes out? The money is going to start adding up and it just isn’t worth it. I do not recommend guardian protection services.

Notification issues

Door bell alert notification activate every time I open and close the door, every time someone walks by. I have worked with multiple service support people to get the system configured to alert ONLY when someone pushers the door bell and have had no success.

Alert notifications can only be changed if you own a computer. You can not change notification settings in the IOS application. Just sad!

Overall happy with the system but... oh my phone battery is running out due to the number of notifications TTYL

Dissapointed

So my husband contacted this company to let them know that the doorbell wasn’t recording when someone would ring the doorbell and asked could someone come out to take a look at the system, so instead of coming like they stated to us “oh we come out for any problems just call us we’re local in your area” ...please a bunch of crap!! So they stated to my husband you’re only allowed 400 clips per year..ARE YOU GUYS SERIOUS!! DO you know how many times a day we enter and leave our house a day, a month let alone a year. All I can say is RIDICULOUS!! Do better GUARDIAN AND GUARD YOUR CUSTOMERS!!

Delayed event triggers

App sends a banner notification that something has trigger the alert (ie a person or vehicle on property) and then when you click that banner it just takes you to the current live video. Clicking the saved video doesn’t reveal whatever triggered the alert until >20 minutes later. So not only does it send banner notifications minutes after the event, you then can’t review the event for up to 20 minutes.

Unhappy

I am new with Guardian Home Security and after signing on with Giardian, a couple months into the contract two areas of my home showed that they were not functioning properly. I called for service and I have had to wait over 5 weeks for someone to come and look at the problem.

The reason for the delay that was given to me was - Covid. If that is true then don’t take on new clients if you cannot service them.

I would like to talk to someone about this delay.

Small recommendation

I am enjoying the system thus far and wanted to make a small recommendation. Is it possible to add a turning (animated) fan to signal that the fan is activated? I ask bc I can never tell when the system goes on if it is the fan or the heat. Also, confusion when multiple devices log in on app.

Need more options

For the most part GuardianProtection and service get the job done. Aside from having a fraudulent 3rd party install my system the service is meat and potatoes. The one thing I do wish you could do on GuardianProtection is have the capability to turn the chime on and off. I get home late from work on most nights and it wakes my elderly grandfather up. If I could just turn it off before I walk in the door that would save him the trouble. But like I said meat and potatoes. Gets the job done.

The alarm does what it’s supposed to when it supposed to. Your reactions to our errors are immediate. We like the mobile app that we can alarm as we are leaving in the car and disarm it when we’re coming in the driveway. Thank you for what you delivered to us.

Not happy with the doorbell camera

I have called multiple times and they are not able to fix the loading time it take for my to pull up who is at my door?! By the time I see the door camera the person is gone or in my house!!! No mater where I am in my house or out in about, it’s bad! I see my friends and family’s and their are perfect! Why?

We have used other systems and are so very happy converted to the Guardian group. Easy to use and user friendly. Is effective and has many intangible items that benefit

Timing out

When using app to arm system, it takes forever. Needs an update. As I leave, I wait in my car for my phone to think about arming the system. I don’t have time for this. Sometimes it doesn’t arm the system at all, just times out stating it’s disarmed. Well that’s a pain and not secure when you’ve already left. I would love the convenience of GuardianProtection if it worked.

The doorbell video

This hardly works. When someone is at the door, I cannot see who is it or even talk because GuardianProtection will scroll then shoe retry or troubleshoot. We have talked with a representative and gotten technical support. I’m convinced it’s the company’s system and a malfunction. My family and friend with the Ring never have these issues. It’s time to find a quality product. Very disappointed!

Constant issues

When GuardianProtection is working well, it is great!
Too bad it doesn’t work well very often. It doesn’t communicate with my door locks. When speaking through the camera on doorbell, it will randomly kick me off. It also doesn’t communicate well with the thermostat.
What a pain dealing with Guardian is!
