I’ve been using TelevisionTime for about a year now, and it’s been pretty useful for tracking shows. While I understand the desire for every developer to switch from one time payments to the subscription model, I just don’t understand the thought process some have when it comes to deciding how to price it. TelevisionTime went from a one time purchase of $5 to an annual subscription of $10. Historically, it’s had pretty infrequent updates, so I’m not sure why they felt it justified to take the price we paid one time and make us pay double it yearly. Or to pay an even more insane $75 one time purchase again. For existing users, it’s not like we are getting any real increase in value. I could somewhat understand maybe a $5/year annual subscription to help fund ongoing development. But $10 is just way too much. And I don’t see many new users finding it worth that much either. And for existing users, we should be able to get a discount on the new “lifetime” purchase. It’s a good app, which is why I’m leaving 3 stars and would have given it 5 before. But it seems like the dev just went into greedy cash grab mode now.
