Layout from Instagram Reviews

I have loved and used LayoutfromInstagram since it came out. There’s no other app like it. Unfortunately as everyone else keeps saying, after iOS 15, LayoutfromInstagram no longer works. I can’t even get it to launch. I have tried reinstalling, restarting my phone, etc.

It’s clear LayoutfromInstagram is no longer compatible with iOS, and unfortunately the fact that the last update was 3 years ago shows that Facebook/Instagram doesn’t care. User complaints have never meant anything to this company, because there are no viable alternatives to their platforms. They know that, complain though they might, users have no where else to go. And so we will continue to use Facebook and Instagram, handing over more and more of our personal data in exchange for less and less user-friendly features.

Ah well. I’ll miss layout. We had a good run.

LayoutfromInstagram WAS great… it was my go-to for combining photos into collages or comparisons… until I updated my iPhone, and now it crashes after a few seconds (and also glitches such that you can’t scroll through certain folders without it scrolling backwards to the top again… and then it proceeds to crash very soon after that, of course, regardless of whether or not the scrolling glitch occurs).

This is obviously a pretty ubiquitous issue for LayoutfromInstagram on iPhone now. It’s time for an update, developers!!

Apparently an update for LayoutfromInstagram hasn’t been issued in 4+ years… well, it’s time to do it now! I’ll write a positive review instead if you could only get it back to working again how it was. It’s simply no longer compatible with iOS. Please give some much-needed attention to this old app you made… or direct users to a new one to replace it, with the same great collage editing options.

It crashes within a window of roughly three to five seconds, and immediately at the slightest touch. It’s a kink I had thought Instagram would correct many years ago when they rolled out Layout but the frequency of crashes and sensitivity to said crashes has only increased since then. I am speaking as a user with the latest devices, across multiple devices, with significant amounts of hard & cloud memory; I always have the latest version of LayoutfromInstagram as an automatic download. This shouldn’t be happening. It’s consistently unreliable. Layout’s only consistency with regards to proper functioning is its popup request to “rate” Layout after each crash, which finally and ironically led me here. In short it’s unacceptable given the years of
the excessive crashes and the scale of its impact.

After I create my image to my liking and tap save, it says it saves and then give me a few options: to upload to instagram, Facebook or "more". When I tap instagram it doesn't open up LayoutfromInstagram so I can post it. But when I tap Facebook it will open a post to Facebook. When I tap "done" in the top right hand corner, the image is not saved to my camera roll. When I tap "more" there are no options to save to my camera roll. I've tried closing and reopening LayoutfromInstagram , turning my phone on and off and it still won't work. Not sure how this problem can be corrected but it would be nice. Other than it being completely useless to me at the moment, over all LayoutfromInstagram is nice and simple to use.

I loved LayoutfromInstagram, and I’ve had it forever. I had it on my iphone xs and now my iphone 12 mini BUT for as long as ive had it, my instagram kept crashing, overheating my phone, and draining my battery. As well as i kept getting hacked or having random logins from other countries (mainly russia).

I thought the problem would resolve once i bought a new phone, but it followed me. I couldn’t be on the instagram app for longer than 30 seconds before it crashed. Then today, i was using this layout app to edit something and the layout app CRASHED. it did it several times before it occurred to me that this is the problem.

So I deleted LayoutfromInstagram, deleted my instagram app, restarted my phone and then re-downloaded instagram (but not this layout app) and now the problem is 100% gone. No more overheating, no more battery drains, no more crashing instagram. Im literally shocked that it took me years to figure this out. Disappointed because LayoutfromInstagram did what i needed it to, but in the process was disrupting my instagram app.

Having the Layout app was having the slayout slap, towering in comparison against similar collage apps—since 2015 for me! I finally ditched my iPhone 6 for a 12 pro max (not just to get a new phone but because my 6 did not play well with others [so many new technologies, like my watch & home pod)]. Now—maybe because my new phone’s so slick? 🤔—Layout crashes repeatedly and to the point where I have yet completed one collage. I can choose photos and a configuration; sometimes, I get as far as sizing and placing pics where I want. Then, CRASH! Oh the HUMANITY!!
Layout, clean up your act and feel your self worth! You are better than this and you are widely loved by loyal users! Make like a sailor and get your ship together before we make like shepherds and get the flock outta here!

Layout has been a massive piece of a large art puzzle I've been uncovering over the past year. The convenience and speed of stitching photos together played to a larger aspect of my art that I was in desperate need of.

It crashes. It didn't always, but it crashes when I scroll from left to right through the layout templates. The single most important aspect of LayoutfromInstagram, to me as an artist, was the convenience of resizing and combining different pieces without interruption. Now that's all it does. I have no clue how to ask about this other than through a review. LayoutfromInstagram was a cornerstone of my work over the past year and for some reason that's gone.

Love.. it’s a fickle thing in itself ... LayoutfromInstagram is a conundrum I love it and I hate it... it gives you this amazing app with so many different ways to slice and dice my photos but it randomly crashes and as if that’s not bad enough already it doesn’t always save them when it is supposed to I have tried to learn to randomly save my progress as I go along so that maybe I wouldn’t have so much trouble trying to go back and piece them together the way I had originally liked but poof they’re gone and what you thought you saved is not there and you are left two hours of wasted time and nothing to show for it... heart wrenching and painful to say the least... please help lol

Let me just say that I have used this all the time, and would give it 5 stars, until an update that broke something.

So one of the more recent updates, not sure which one, made it so that you can’t get back to the starting screen. You have to close LayoutfromInstagram .

It added extra steps into selecting photos and making your layout. And I’m not really sure why? From a user experience perspective, it makes zero sense— Because not only does it add the extra steps, but there’s no way to clear the selection and start over. You can’t access your photo roll, if you click on recents it only has the things you recently selected. Which I find to be completely unuseful.

It’s the GUI equivalent of a keyboard trap. I was hoping that maybe the logo or something else would let me clear the selection and access my photo roll once more. But there doesn’t appear to be any way to do this. I am super bummed that I have to close LayoutfromInstagram every time just to get a pop-up to ask if I want to clear my selection and use different photos.

If something was done to address this, I would totally give this 6 stars! I use LayoutfromInstagram all the time and I’m really disappointed that the functionality has been crippled in this way.

(The reason I’m not sure which update caused this change is because I hadn’t installed any of the updates for a while. But had to recently when I upgraded my phone.)

I just used LayoutfromInstagram for the first time. I liked it a lot as it was quick and easy for me. The reason I did not give it five stars is because I wanted a layout configuration I did not see and couldn’t figure out as quickly how to get it or create it myself: a rectangle on the left with two boxes (probably squares) on the right. In the end the larger rectangle on the left with the slimmer one on the right worked better, I think for what I’m doing, but I want full flexibility to create on the screen what I envision in my mind. This may be just a function of my lack of familiarity with the software, and lack of sufficient time to look it up. Thus, I stand by my rating as the rest of the functionality was... Quick and easy.😆

I downloaded the not too long after getting Instagram some years ago. It’s a great basic app and I use it a lot. I especially like how easy it to resize the picture boarders something you can’t due in other similar apps I’ve tried in the past.

Most recently had to upgrade my iPhone 6s operating system to IOS 15 and the problems started. After downloading IOS 15 I went to use the Layout as usual LayoutfromInstagram started up and then stayed in the boot up position with app logo for 60 seconds them crashes. I tried restarting my iPhone etc. nothing seams to work. Pleas consider looking in to the situation and fix bugs.

I loved MySpace until The Zuch came along and created his mini world which has its limits. And then Instagram happened. That was the moment that I fell in love with photography. There’s nothing more satisfying than walking around the city that you are not familiar with and exploring it with your camera. As I got older I discovered that I could manipulate the algorithm so that I Instagram became marketing tool, a way for me to engage with other professionals in my field and learn incidental and up-and-coming information that was coming down the pipeline. Of course you can always look at cat pictures too.

I love LayoutfromInstagram; I use it every day for my online selling pictures. But it does suddenly close on me at least 1 -2 times a day and loses the content I’d been just editing. The other thing I’d like to see would be more control over the size of an image with an the frame of a multi frame layout. There’s a bit now, but I’d like more. Lastly, when switching/dragging more than two frames into different spots it will sometimes “freeze”; I can’t find an image to drag or it freezes into frames that only show the image partially. So a few kinks, but overall I love and need what LayoutfromInstagram allows me to do; thank you.

I’ve been doing this for a couple years now and I downloaded it not when I got Instagram but, just to see what I could do and if I could recommend it to my friends or family. I ended up loving and telling most of my friends and family that have Instagram or Facebook. I used it a lot when I did before and after pictures and my other friends loved they could post two photos instead of one. I think anyone with on Instagram or Facebook who want to post 2-4 pictures.

I think that LayoutfromInstagram is absolutely amazing because you can have so much fun with LayoutfromInstagram and I also love this ad because there’s just like so many reasons but one of my favorite reasons why I love LayoutfromInstagram so much is because you can switch your photos left to right and there is even more reasons why I love LayoutfromInstagram too!?! I just wanted to say thank you to my best friend for introducing me to LayoutfromInstagram because this is absolutely amazing but yeah I hope you have an amazing day, night, or morning bye-bye

This is so quick and easy to use, it’s literally the best!! I find myself using it all the time to layout stuff or even compare two images side by side because it makes it so quick and easy. When I originally downloaded LayoutfromInstagram I thought maybe I’d use it like once or twice but I seriously end up using every week because it’s just so nice to be able to do a comparison easily on my phone. LayoutfromInstagram is super user friendly and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who’d listen.

I really enjoy LayoutfromInstagram. It’s fun to make these layouts. The only thing that I would say is that sometimes when I choose a layout, then change a photo, my screen will go off and I have to restart. But still that just be my device 😉 I would totally recommend it, especially if you love to organize like I do. I do have one suggestion: you can only have 9 photos in a layout. Could you make it to maybe 12 or 15? That would be amazing... but I still totally recommend LayoutfromInstagram :)

The Layout app has always been there for you. It’s the friend you’ve always had, but never fully appreciated. Always been free — no motive but to assist you in your mobile collaging endeavors, be they in Instagram or others. From the moment it was born its was a separated concern in spirit from general commercial interests. The humble Layout app merely wishes you the best in your daily rituals. Being a loss leader, It hopes you will use it for Instagram but is equally happy just to juxtapose any of your captures for any ultimately square format. Layout app, you are a shining star in the field of ad-laden, subscription poisoned money grabs. Thank you for being you.

I have more than 3 yrs using this amazing app for my pics but as of a couple of months ago it no longer works. It just keeps loading & then shuts down. I have deleted it several times including right now & reinstalled but the issue still persist on my iPhone 8. Even tho I’m having this issue I still have it a 5 star rating because I love LayoutfromInstagram so much & never had any issues with until couple months ago as of last year. It’s so easy to use & most of all free 100%.

Please fix it or let me know what I should do like call up Apple idk. I love to continue using this amazing app. I tried reporting the issue by tapping the report issue link, but there’s no way I can report this specific issue on the site. So only thing left for me to do was write here in the review section. Hope it gets fixed soon 🙏🏻

I was very satisfied with LayoutfromInstagram. If you have Instagram LayoutfromInstagram will really come in handy. If someone you know such as ( family/friends) has a special celebration or birthday you can choose selections of pictures from your camera roll. Afterwards you can pick what form/pattern you would like to put them in. I just think that this is a really useful app for you story or even if your posting pictures on Instagram for a memory. You can even save these pictures that you put together in your camera roll! If you download LayoutfromInstagram enjoy!

I think LayoutfromInstagram would be fine if it had an option to allow you to resize the photo to fit in the sections. For example I have two pictures I want side by side, I select the pictures, they are cut in half, you can use you fingers to shrink the images so that they do for, as soon as you let go they stretch back out. I can't use LayoutfromInstagram. I suppose I could if I use another app to resize and then use LayoutfromInstagram to put them side by side, why would I want to waste even more time doing that? There are other apps that do it all. I personally can not recommend LayoutfromInstagram.

The only option for end size is a square. That works well for Instagram but it doesn’t work for a lot of my other needs that I want to print out on normal rectangle paper, which means I’ll need a second app for that stuff. I want to be able to choose whether I want a square or a normal paper size and be able to rotate images so I could print with a landscaping orientation.

I do like that it allows me to choose how many or few images to combine and allows me to choose the sizes of each (within the square) and slide them around to choose what part of the original image to show.

I downloaded Layout to use when I need the ability to get a little more creative with #'s of photos, #'s of angles in 1 photo, bringing together multiple types of images, i.e. cartoons + photos + written works, etcetera. Occasionally, I find myself using it very little, I decide to remove it, and blasè, blasè. However, NEVER HAVE I EVER FOUND A WAY TO GO WITHOUT IT. It's always re-added. Always. LayoutfromInstagram itself is great. I do wish I could lengthen one are withOUT it lengthening it's opposing side as well. It would be cool to have a 9 pic collage with the teensiest pic in center, and slooowly growing in size as I rotate out ↩️ or ↪️. ✔️

I like putting several photos together to make a little story. Then I can delete the originals to save room (I think). I would like to be able to apply different effects to different originals, like brighten one and sharpen another, but it doesn't seem to do any of that. I would really like to be able to adjust the position of the boundaries between pictures. So I could specify 3 photos but choose the actual cropping myself for certain photos. Other than that, I like it and use it.

I enjoy using layout for many different reasons. One of those reasons is to display all my pictures at once. I only gave 4 ⭐️ because it needs more borders, different colors and options to choose from. They layouts should include more pictures and you should be able to decorate them with different emojis. There is definitely a lot more they could do with LayoutfromInstagram. I am waiting to see what will be next, cuz this is kind of getting boring!

I am so glad that I found LayoutfromInstagram. I just needed to make a photo collage, so this was perfect, other than it crashing on me a few times. LayoutfromInstagram would just close randomly, and I’d have to start all over again, so definitely save the ones you like right away just incase. LayoutfromInstagram makes it easy to add and and adjust the photos to your liking and it provides several options for layouts. LayoutfromInstagram was great other than the crashing, and I would’ve given it 5 stars.

Layout is my all time favorite photo-editing pic collage app, and I use it for EVERYTHING.
To compare pictures, to make cute mash-ups of all my favorite photos, or even to preserve cute little memories to print out and frame. The best part is: its free! If you are feeling skeptical about LayoutfromInstagram, I say you should definitely try it. There’s nothing better—trust me, I’ve been through almost all of the other collage apps and this one is top ranked in my book. 😁😉

I am enjoying this amazing app that I have been using for years now. I, love that LayoutfromInstagram it can be shared straight to Instagram and Facebook when you are finished editing your pictures arrangement inside of the frames that you choose from but only one thing I wish that they had the choice to also edit your pictures that would be an additional upgrade to LayoutfromInstagram but other wise I, am enjoying the beautiful frame work to add more then one picture and making pictures frame collages.

I’m the Mother of a Professional Boxer and wanted to summarize his birthday celebration with family. Instead of posting multiple photos on social media the traditional way; l wanted a more creative way to do this. I downloaded LayoutfromInstagram, picked the photos, and his birthday photos came to life! My son is LaVonte Earley, 8-0, Pro Boxer from North Carolina. Although he’s 25 years old, he’ll never be too old to create memories with his family. LayoutfromInstagram allowed me to share his birthday memories in a creative way.

Is great!I have a acount that only has a few hundred fans and I hate it!They aren’t active and nobody likes my pics!I found LayoutfromInstagram and I have blown up!I get around hundreds of likes per pic!I have a couple thousand fans ever since I got LayoutfromInstagram!It makes me make such cool things!I would recommend it I have shared with my whole group of friends and they love it!The only thing is they might need to update and get some more things to add but overall I would still love it!Its awesome!😘

I recently got LayoutfromInstagram and it is working wonderfully!! It is great for putting a lot of pictures together! I am visiting Greece right now so I have been using LayoutfromInstagram to put pictures from everything I see together! You can style them however you would like and you can add a border for around the pictures! It is a great app and you should get it if you want a app where you can put many photos all in one big photo which you can post on Instagram or whatever you would like!!

LayoutfromInstagram is amazing and i just got it i already made like a thousand layouts😂 I love it bc you can put so many pictures next to each other and it looks so cool and its super fun to use👌🏼 I give this a 100😂 bc you can't find other apps like these that actually work and are super fun to use and at the end look amazing which with other photo apps they glitch our don't look like you wanted it. But this is a GREAT APP🥇 and i suggested you get this AMAZING APP ❤️😍💪🏻 Also the best part is you can use it with Instagram and make great layouts and have good looking pictures😂👌🏼

LayoutfromInstagram is perfect just please fix it from crashing 🙏. Where is the update to fix the crashing? I can reproduce it at will. Simply select your 3 photos and then select the layout to the far right and BAM going back in the second time works perfect. It is like it may be a memory clipboard issue perhaps. Oh please FIX it. i use this tool constantly and get really irritated when i am creating a new post. Thank you for a wonderful app.
