This game honestly used to be fun. Back when Holmgang was 3 trillion influence, and clan sieges were actually doable by one person. But the latest updates have been the last straw! My clan never got to do a single Holmgang, because whenever we got close enough to the requirements, they would raise them, first 1 trillion, then 3, and now 9 trillion. Seriously! Plarium actually makes clan and fury sieges harder now too, so now I can’t do them, and you can’t level down your Tower of Odin. Jotenhiem (not sure what the spelling is) is pointless unless you have several hundred bucks to burn. Asgard— also very expensive. CvC— Plarium also changed those, so I can’t get the last few lvls also. This game is literally designed for only the top spenders! Finally, the last few lvls of Helheim are just a ridiculous waste of time. I really did used to enjoy this game, but the insane amount of money needed to stay ahead is a lethal trap. I heard some of the top dogs spent multiple -THOUSAND- dollars. I don’t think very many people will read this, but to those who have— BE WARNED! It’s fun at first, but if you stick around long enough you’ll be forced into an endless cycle of spending money. I used to enjoy this game, I really did, but now I don’t enjoy this game, and the constant changes will likely continue till the cows come home. I’ll probably try Clash of Clans and see if they change things every two seconds!!

A spreadsheet would be more entertaining than this game. Train troops you never see, send them out to fight but you don’t get to control or interact with the fight. All you do is make numbers bigger to get bigger numbers. Truly awful game. Don’t waste your time or money.

Response to developer form letter response. The robot who typed out the response was insincere and predictable. I only joined Vikings to get in game currency for a better game. It took me a week to get to the required level and then the advertiser, aka you “people” rejected the offer so i wasted my time for nothing. Aside from that I’d rather play an 80 text based game than waste my time again on the crap you have put out. Train, march, upgrade. Not only tedious but painfully simple to make Vikings. I can’t believe people actually waste money on this garbage.

The only thing i wanted out of your extremely simple, boring, tedious game was the in game currency for animation throw down, but they are telling me that their advertiser, aka you “people” rejected the deal after I spent days boring myself to death on your simple app. Seriously I made this same game as a homework assignment freshman year of high school.

Like other reviewers say it’s basically pay to win.
The game is mostly very annoying Russian players, very few English speakers. If you’re a halfway decent looking female don’t connect your Facebook or it’s just a bunch of freaks messaging you endlessly in Cyrillic characters. And of course attacking your city when you tell them to buzz off.
Without a peace shield you just get endlessly attacked by annoying Russians, and a peace shield costs 1,000 gold for 8 hours, up to 10,000 for a week. Gold is ridiculous to harvest so basically that means pay out of pocket. If you don’t you just get attacked over and over until you have no troops left and the game is pointless. PVP encounters are totally uncontrolled and it’s just how many troops are deployed by each side. Which if you haven’t paid for a hundred bucks worth of crap in the game, you just get your Tripp’s decimated. And of course it costs gold to resurrect 90% of your troops. In other words, more cash.
It’s just another crappy spawn of a garbage style of game that should have died out a decade ago and been replaced with a real PVP game, but this is just a crappy ploy for money.

I've been playing the game for year, because of the social aspect of the game. The actual gameplay is laggy at best, sometimes taking a minute or more to get results of the battles, especially in global events like Asgard. Development is slow and I'll thought out, often giving you little advancement, or impossible to achieve unless you are in the highest ranked clans, and spend thousands every month. Support is quick to get back to you if there is a problem, but doesn't enforce the rules of gameplay, almost always say it is your device or network, even when the same issue is experience d by all players. The newest puzzle feature, takes maybe a couple of hours to complete, leaving you to do the same puzzles every day to get the meager daily rewards. There is no way whatsoever to play the game for free, and be competitive.

per the developer response: They are always quick to get back to you, they just never do anything to help out. The features that they add to the game are not what people are asking for. They want a game that is stable, and balanced, which this gam3 is neither.

I really enjoyed the game til recently, one of the biggest scams and flaws is an action known as tilehiting. This is where you send troops to gather resources to help build your town and if lucky your clan strong hold. In other games like the Warner Brothers Lotr game that this looks to be a clone of they protect your troops if resource gathering or camped outside the city for 24 hours. I feel that at the very least if you pay to peace treaty your tow your resource gathers should be protected.

I know no one really reads the negative reviews and this will probably be one that falls by the wayside. I am glad I am done spending money on a beta quilts game. Not as much as some players do but I have spent close to 100 usd in the two months.I also plan on telling the Youtuber who suggested the game to pull his support for it because he is an honorable man and this game is far from honorable with the double billing and tile hitting.

I originally downloaded this game for a chance to win a drone (I didn’t win), played the game for a month and I’ll be deleting Vikings today. It’s a tedious real time upgrading game with no in game action. You don’t get to control attacks with your troops or even watch them attack others. There’s 2 ways to succeed in the game, spend a bunch of money or get into an active clan with a high level chief that sends resources (I got lucky and got into a top clan). There’s some really bad bugs in the game like being able to send an attack and then shield or relocate before the troops even arrive at their destination to complete their attack. It makes it impossible to punish players for attacking you or your clan. There’s a ton of inactive players on the map and it’s clear why. It’s a boring, tedious real time builder, if you’re into these kind of games play clash of clans at least in that game you get to set up your village, and actual attack with your troops. If it wasn’t for the drone giveaway I would have quit this game after an hour of playing. Also, their help forum doesn’t even have a chart that shows upgrade costs and building times, it’s a little thing but very important. A lot of little things wrong with this game that add up.

Got on yesterday said I had a piece treaty for 1 day and 14 hours I go to work the next day and in less than 25 I was attacked by the same person over 20 times in less than 15 minutes. I barely have 40 million in influence while the person who hit me had over 1 billion in influence. Still lost on how my piece treaty went away before it was to expire I should have had at least 12 hours minimum left. So not only was I cheated out my piece treaty but then cheated by someone who was 500 times better than me minute after minute after minute sometimes in the same minute. Also makes me wonder if it was a developer of the game to try and get me to spend more money to pay over 300k in gold to bring back troops that did nothing. In most games like this when you lose in a attack it gives you a temp shield to build things back up. But not this game they just let the same person attack you over and over and over. And who really wants to wait over 60 weeks for something to upgrade? Or wait that’s so they think you will spend money on a stupid game that cheats you out of rss. Will be giving all my other 400 million rss to clan members and deleting this game off my phone. Would give it less than one star but Vikings Store won’t let me. So here I give it -1 star

When I started playing I knew I was getting into something different for me. I enjoyed the learning strategy, my amazing clan (you need! a clan), doing upgrades all while spending some money, but not absurd amounts. My game has now basically come to a screeching halt. Why? Upgrades take enormous amounts of resources and time (over a year for 1 building or 1 level of knowledge), the price of packs keeps going up while the quality of the packs is going down. Paying more for less. Today’s update was the final straw. When you have a game and far too many of your base, from all over the world, struggles with connection errors, internal connection errors, getting kicked from the game, dealing with lack of opponents at every event for hours, having events pushed so they’re now back to back with 1 day between so there’s no time to rss or catch your breath and you want me to not only give you money, but more money for less? Not happening. Adding level 7 troops is ridiculous. Giving players what they don’t want is ridiculous. Bye plarium. Leaving before the mass exit and inevitable game shutdown due to only multi-billionaire whales being able to play. Even they reach a point of enough

I would have given a higher star rating because the only reason I downloaded the game is to get free gold for another game as I do know it's just a clone of other games. I noticed the reply they posted to another review stating they were the original strategy war game. Lol hmm I remember playing evony years before total domination and these mobile games came about. You are only original in the fact of how greedy these free to play games are in making it only pay to play with no real reason to actually play if you don't have a deep pocket. You want to take some advise from a player who has played almost all of your free to pay games and has gotten so frustrated in the amount of money it actually takes to compete against these high payers. How about make servers that only allow players that don't spend money. Make the game fun for everyone not just the ones feeding your greed. I know it takes time to make these games but not if they clones of your other games with just new skins.

So first off this is an awesome game and has me addicted ! That being said I am seriously considering ending my play ! I have spent a lot of money on this game to get where I am but like many other players not satisfied at all with plarium and it’s customer service. I have had shields drop because the game was down for maintenance. By the time I was able to get back on to reshield I have been completely wiped out costing me sometimes a couple hundred dollars to retrain my soldiers and by rss. There response is that everyone is allowed back on the system at the same time . Well that’s fine if everyone is sitting there waiting to get back on at exactly the time the game goes back up, however some of us have lives outside of the game with jobs, children, sleep etc so because the game was down when I needed to reshield and I am not able to sit there waiting for who knows how long( because they don’t tell you how long they will be down for) then I am out all the time, money, and energy I have spent to get there. I don’t have to start completely over but sometimes feel as though I might as well. Very discouraging to spend money like that and have them not care whatsoever !

This game was extremely fun to play when it was still newer. Presently the game is approaching 1000 kingdoms, when I started the newest kingdom was 83. Back then the game was a blast, wasn’t crazy expensive and relatively easy to be competitive if you were willing to spend a little on it. Now, I wouldn’t suggest starting unless you’re willing to drop tens of thousand of dollars. They say it’s free to play, which it is, as long as all you want to do is start an account and play FarmVille. It is impossible to play competitively free and many of the items needed to play competitively are not free. The volume of updates, which all require spending to accomplish have ruined the game for anyone that’s not one of their whales (big spenders). Now, if your rich and willing to spend absurd amounts of money on a pointless games go for it, you’ll have a blast. If that’s not you I wouldn’t suggest this game.

First of all, I like this game to an extent. The things you can do in the game are pretty good but they’ll appeal so much to P2W players so much. VIP 100… no F2P player will ever reach that within 2yrs unless they join the best clans that are likely already full

This game isn’t clash of clans and neither is it this app:war of the clans… it’s this app: war of the whales. And if you’re not a whale then you’re insignificant in your own kingdom and basically nonexistent in major events… getting certain resources is also difficult without spending an X amount but luckily that’s improved over the years but wait until they drop a new update like they just recently did and drop packs related to said update lol

I’m a whale so I don’t really care much about that but this is what puts a lot of people off about the game and it’s become very niche that leans towards those who spend and those who are carried by those who spend

I started playing this game years ago. It has meant a lot to have this game in my life. I made some great friends across the world. I became closer to family and friends near me that also play. I deleted all other games on my devices. I have spent a small fortune in the game.
Sadly, over the last couple of years the updates have made the game not as much fun. Apparently the creators cannot keep up with their servers either. When I can load the game, it just isn’t as much fun to play. They have made the CVC about as much fun as a root canal. That was the event that my clan always enjoyed the most.
I’ve found myself downloading other games to play when I can’t load the game. Now I find myself spending my money in other games. I love this app. I wish they had kept it a bit more like it used to be.
I give three stars for what the game used to be. This was the best game….

This game is very addicting! I thoroughly enjoy it and encourage others to play. Yes as one bad review mentions, there are a lot of Russian players. However there are also, Unites States, South Africa, Germany, Spain, Australia, etc. that plays. The game is very strategic and some what mathematical. To ensure you are the strongest clan it requires discipline by yourself AND your clan mates. Sure you can purchase extras; However if you are in a strong disciplined clan you will receive extras through clan competitions. There are also personal competitions that coincide with the clan competition so you can get points for both events... and so on. I took a star away for the constant maintenance that is being done and the minor glitches as my wheel spins and reconnections more times than I would like. Overall it is a fun game and you can also play from PC ?as most of my clan members do) I play from my iOS device!

I haven’t had a real problem yet, the game stick when loading at 45% so I reload and it goes thro. I’m pretty sure there will be glitches as time goes on but I’ve been In two weeks and nothing major, these games want coin, period. Cough up some coin once and a while to advance or play until you die getting nowhere. I have a spending limit, when I hit that I’m pretty much done and if I feel the game is robbing me excessively I cut my losses and move on, other than that I’m having fun so far just have to get use to how to fight and not get killed by players way to big to compete with, it’s the newbie curse lol. This is a war game so guard up always, some of the deals are pretty good but once you buy a package it doubles if you wanna buy it again, I’d rather move on and wait until I get more bang for my buck, good luck and enjoy

I love this game and I’ve been playing since 2016 but it has never been perfect, i think the ability to send gold and boosts to clan mates would be awesome, I’ve wanted this to be a thing for a while now and I know many others would like this. Another thing that I think needs change is the account system on iOS, I would like to be able to switch accounts much easier because to switch I have to type in my password and everything it’s just not convenient. Another thing that I would like to see is bank offer prices go down I have noticed that the bank offers have gotten worse and more expensive than before. I also think the drakker item needs to be nerfed it has torn my kingdom apart and this item is used way too often so maybe a 60day cool down. Like I said I love the game and I only want good for it and I know people are with me on these changes it would mean a lot if you guys could add these suggestions;)

I have seen all the reviews and everyone is right. There are issues with the game plarium has bad customer service and sends generic responses and never really addresses your issue. I have had shields drop early and loose everything or I have bought a pack and never got it but still spent the money for it. There are so many things you can complain about and never get a resolution but I’ll say this I do love the game. Just play smart and learn from others. It is what it is so either play or don’t but there are a lot of issues and I’ve seen so many big players quit. From a business perspective I would think you would do things to keep those players, in the end they are the ones that spend money and when they quit that’s less money for plarium. Oh well nothing will ever change unless we are treated like a real person. Any time you spend money with a company and you are not satisfied with service or the product usually that company does the right thing.

This game is awesome! However, the chat needs serious re-evaluation; I’d advise adding an ability to translate the different languages - the majority of chat speaks Russian and unfortunately where I come from they do not teach Russian so, naturally, I’d like to be able to translate it into English so I can understand what they are saying.

Also, I don’t know why I cannot add apostrophes to words like “I’m,” or “it’s,” it is extremely frustrating. I’d also like to note that as of right now, on a mobile device, I cannot copy or paste anything in chat which is extremely frustrating as well.

Please make at least some efforts to fix these problems. (Because otherwise my brain will explode ... figuratively speaking of course 😂). I’ll add a pretty please just for safe measures too, oh and imagine that I’m on my knees begging as well, while cupping my hands and shaking them tears streaming from my face to add a dramatic flare to it. Ok I’m done now lol.

I love this game to its core! I joined a great clan so I wouldn’t be attacked by any other while I could raid AI run camps for supplies and prepare my army for an actual war against an equally powerful enemy. I did my challenges and tasks to constantly gain rewards. If you made the right decisions this game is extremely fun and addicting. I love the passive resource gain. I could stop playing for like 4 days and come back to loads of supplies that I can enjoy spending. I love that they give you early helpful currency like gold and silver so that I could buy more supplies absolutely free if I needed them. I currently manage that currency well enough to have enough to buy whatever I want in the game. I have currently spent no real money but have gotten so far for hardly no work! I manage my town well and prosper because of it.

Was on dominations and saw offer. Earned 4300 crowns(!) for getting yo level 10. During the test period I actually found the game to become enjoyable. I was not marauded by evil billionaires. There mere many small cities come and gone, but vast areas of territory with no visible active threats. A friendly invitation to a Dutch speaking clan but no sprechian ze doiche either (nor German). It seems that one could learn to engage in its world nicely and find myself doing a f2p and see where it goes. No great introductory offers I could understand, it can try to trick you into using tokens for upgrades but caveat emptor I guess. So as far as I was promptly paid a hefty Dominations reward, I can’t find too much bad to say about it so far. I suppose if I log on a few times a day, doing task, I will find more adventures and ultimately will meet friends and foes...
