We got almost 2 inches where I live & PocketRainGauge says we did not get any rain!

Completely useless. It rained here all day and says no rain. Monkeys could do a better job measuring rain fall

past 24 hrs we had major storms it reported .20” yea right!

If you are trying to log your per day rainfall this is not your app. PocketRainGauge gives you a 24 hour rain total but doesn’t break and reset at midnight. The totals become blurred because there is no reset time. Part of the rain fall the previous day might still be part of the current total showing. Has potential but currently it’s useless.

It’s been an hour and a half since our thunderstorms and it says we’ve had no rain. Once it updates, though, it’s pretty accurate. I’m checking the Weather Channel’s app for a more real-time update. Although that could be better, it’s better than this.

Dad has an actual rain gauge next door. PocketRainGauge is never even close. Showed no rain today 2 full hours after a torrential down pour. Deleting looking for something else.

Only gives 24 hour rain fall which doesn’t mean anything. Please add custom duration such as total rainfall in a week or any reasonable time period. Not a rocket science, you just need to add!

We received over 4 inches of rain and this device showed only 1/4” of rain. It shows wrong location, and I can not log into my account. I will delete PocketRainGauge because it does not work at all!

Doesn’t really work.

Never seems to show anywhere near the correct amount of rain. Currently says 0.0” when its been raining for hours.

I guess I was just expecting more. Gives you last 24 hours of rain. That’s it. There’s virtually nothing to PocketRainGauge.
by Jothmilina
I don't know where their data comes from but I can get over an inch of rain and it will only tell me I received less than a 1/4 inch
by Mrkwek
We had a good 3 inches of rain last 24 hours. Your rain gage said 0

Seems good for what it does but I just wish it would have rain data for the pst 7-14 days not just the pst 24 hours.

I like PocketRainGauge because it’s usually pretty accurate, but I guess last night’s wind interfered with the official gauge (wherever that is). Our bird bath was half to two-thirds full and our physical rain gauge in the backyard registered about 1.17” of rain.

PocketRainGauge is very accurate! It tells how much rain fell in a 24 hour period for whatever location your in...my farm is basically 4 square miles and I have rain gauges at each end of it and more and after a rain where my gauges are at it always jives with what each gauge is showing.. the gauges are usually never exactly the same but the pocket rain gauge agrees every time with my actual gauges.. so I know it’s accurate...and a keeper...very handy and cool app!!

Once you sign up online (it’s free!) and create your farm locations, they will appear on PocketRainGauge and give you very useful data in the last 24 hours worth of rain at each location. I haven’t checked for accuracy, but this is very useful for me to know if I need to drive out to water my beds. Additionally, it sends you an email report (if you want it to) with today’s projected rain, max temperature, rain expected for the next 7 days, and a few other rain data points. So useful! I’m very grateful for this tool.

App works great where I live.

I would like to see it work with Siri & Alexa

Even during major rain events over 3" has been within a few 1/100ths of neighbors pro weather station and let's me look at what happened wherever I go.

PocketRainGauge insists on using your current location but I want to know what's happening at my house in Vermont. There seems to be no way to enter another location and PocketRainGauge won't run unless location services is enabled. I was excited to find it but this limitation makes it useless.
Also, why the 24 hour limitation? I bet I'm not alone in wanting to know the rainfall history of the last week, month, season or year.

I used PocketRainGauge to keep track how much rain I get, in order to determine how much water I need to water my shrubs. It will be nice to keep track of the rain from the past week, one week is good enough, otherwise I have to manually record the rain fall to determine how much water I need to feed to my lawn.

PocketRainGauge is beautifully designed and easy to use! I love finding out how much it rained in the last 24 hours, wherever I am. I also like checking rainfall at all my favorite fields and parks so I know where to go to avoid the mud - it was super easy to put them all in with my free Morning Farm Report® Core Account and now they all show up automatically. My favorite part is that I can type in the correct amount if their rainfall amount is off - these guys are NOT messing around about data quality!

There's a free weather account you can sign up for in PocketRainGauge . App itself tells rainfall where you are standing for the past 24 hrs, works ok by itself, but the Free Core Account is what makes it useful. You can see multiple locations and two week forecasts for those points. Super cool!!! I watch the Lake, the campgrounds and Busch Stadium.
