by Not Really Getting Rained On

Example: checked RainAware on 1st tee, because clouds appeared in distance, showed no probability of rain (Dry). By 5th hole (hour later) pouring rain, lightning in distance, horn was sounded. Really, checked RainAware - Dry. Really?
Coordinates shown in app are correct. What gives?
RainAware has been this inaccurate since downloading. It can even warn of rain when it's actually raining. All positive reviews must be that it very accurate regarding the fact that is dry, when it actually is dry. As far as rain predicting - a joke.
At least sits a humorous conversation piece while getting soaked (or maybe it was imagination that I was getting rained on)
Would give zero stars if possible

I was extremely disappointed in RainAwareWeatherTimer today and it was dark the sky was for me it was building up warm weather every sign was pointing to the fact it was gonna rain I checked RainAwareWeatherTimer multiple times wasn’t even the slightest chance of rain in the forecast and in Minneapolis it poured thunder lightning for hours?
I hate to give you a bad review but you should have a way on RainAwareWeatherTimer for us to contact you so you can update things.

When I first got RainAwareWeatherTimer - it was spot on! I don’t know which update switched it from being useful - the last couple of times I used it - it was way off. It would say next 3 hours dry and then I would look up and see the gray clouds and hear the thunder and it still said dry for the next 3 hours! It started raining within minutes! If it were a free app - then I would say lesson learned but I actually paid $4.99 for it! I hope this update corrects this

Weather app, which was free tends to be as accurate, if not more so. Right now it says "dry" for next few hours, yet it is sprinkling. It's interesting to check out, but disappointed in the accuracy. For the price, I expected better. Should have been $ .99

I live in Florida and really wanted this program to work. It is everything I wanted, except accurate. It is a full half-mile off from my IPhone compass location, which is extremely accurate. In Florida, a half-mile is the difference between getting drenched in a thunderous downpour and working on your tan. I have been drenched twice by relying on it. If they can fix that problem. I would give it a solid four stars.

Update: After using this program for a couple years, all of my concerns about accuracy have been fixed. I doubt if you can find a better program for the essentials you need to plan around local weather changes. With family spread around the country, I can quickly zoom into their local weather as well.

RainAwareWeatherTimer is accurate and gives me the heads up before I go out of the house. The only thing is that it has a hard time predicting the rain/snow too far ahead because the weather can change so quickly but not much you can do about that.

I probably use RainAwareWeatherTimer more than any other I've purchased. (Of course, I live in Portland. Probably not so useful in Phoenix.)

The abiity to predict the next three hours may seem limited, but the accuracy is awesome, and really useful. The 7-day forecast is more accurate than my other apps for rain or snow.

The look and feel of RainAwareWeatherTimer is superb, in my opinion. It is clean and free of clutter, while making access to the core information instantaneous.

As to accuracy...well, its a weather forecast, folks. Any meteorologist will admit there is art as well as science in the profession. Im not sure what RainAware uses as its data source(s), but I have found it at least as accurate as NWS, Accuweather, etc. The link to radar imagery allows the user to draw their own conclusions as to the adequacy of the forecast.

RainAware fills a very specific niche, providing ultra short term predictions.

RainAwareWeatherTimer has been very accurate for me. I’m happy to finally see an update for RainAwareWeatherTimer, and that the update brings iPhone X support for the resolution.

+ radar images load quickly and are usually only a minute old
+ accurate for me here in the Minneapolis area
+ you can adjust the clutter (and other things) filtering to better fit your area
+ I can see the rain prediction by time and intensity via a couple display options.

- closest weather station to my home is 19 miles (doesn't seem to affect anything other than current conditions being a bit off).

Ok, so I have only been using RainAwareWeatherTimer in Northern CA (where it has rained a lot this month!). This afternoon has been characterized by on and off 30 min stretches of partly sunny alternating with 15 minute stretches of light windy rain. So far, in the first 3 hours of use, it has been very accurate. Almost creepy accurate!

Love it. Just what I was looking for. Gives the most accurate predictions possible and is super informative. I work outside with my computer very often and RainAwareWeatherTimer gives me exactly the level of information I need to know if I should move inside within the next 5 to 165 minutes. Absolutely incredible.

Generally excellent. So far after about 10 months, misses only when there is coastal fog that hides heavy drizzle - enough to use windshield wipers and have to use rain gear. Aside from that major annoyance, we like the way it keeps pace with changing conditions while providing hourly forecasts and good imaging.

I live in the Pacific Northwest in an area that gets 60+ inches of rain a year. After I changed the precip alert to "any intensity" I got super accurate predictions. Before walking the dog last night I checked to see if it was raining and of course it was. Then checked Rain Aware which predicted that the Rain would end in 12mins. So I waited and subsequently had a dry dog walk. Love RainAwareWeatherTimer!

I have never paid more than $1.99 for an app before this one. This is definitely worth $4.99. It was recommended by Susan Waldman, a NY Yankees radio broadcaster. We were in the car on the way to a game and it was pouring. She announced it was going to stop in 36 minutes, and lo and behold, it stopped when she said it would. I have used it several times since then, and it never let me down. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I willingly paid $5 for RainAwareWeatherTimer- and I never buy apps. I love how I can accurate know when it's going to rain and how hard. The Point Of Interests is a very cool feature allowing you to see conditions for your weekend trip to Disneyland for example. The 7 day forecast is handy and easy to read. The radar imagery is nice to have too to be able to see what's going on nearby.

I have tried many weather apps throughout the years which did work but this year has been a nightmare. Every app I downloaded was incorrect with the rain and I mean way off the mark. I bragged about RainAware to my husband who has to have accurate weather forecast for his line of work and he was even amazed. I now have my friends downloading RainAwareWeatherTimer. As you can see I love it.

Love RainAwareWeatherTimer. Well worth the $4.99 (btw, the first and only app I have paid for!), recommended by my friend the hunter. Whether it is walking the dog or entertaining the grandchildren, the ability to see if, when, how long, and where, we might experience rain is invaluable. Highly recommend to everyone, no matter your activity level - you don't have to be the outdoorsman to utilize RainAwareWeatherTimer.

I live in the Bay Area and rarely get to ever see precipitation, but on the handful of days per year it does rain I’m all over RainAwareWeatherTimer. I’ve put it to the test and it’s correct within seconds of when rain will start and stop. I also learned that Major League Baseball umpires use RainAware to determine rain delays and whether to stop play or when to restart. It’s hella good!!

RainAwareWeatherTimer is great it can tell you when to expect rain and how long it will last as well as the density of the rainfall. I kid you not I was showing it off at a picnic ; it started raining, my spouse asked how long it’s going to rain and check RainAwareWeatherTimer . App said 17 minutes. Another guest challenged me how does it know that to the minute? I set timer for 17 minutes. Timer went off and rain stopped. The other person got RainAwareWeatherTimer after that.

I rely heavily on Rain Aware and the nowcasting format it uses. It has saved me several times from getting drenched or getting too far from shelter when bad weather was inbound. The 5 minute breakdowns are highly accurate and very valuable for people like me who walk and hike on a daily basis. I love the three hour clock graphic as well.

I've been using RainAwareWeatherTimer for couple months now, among others, and it's been pretty darn accurate. Like any weather prediction RainAwareWeatherTimer has had a miscue or two, but it's overall better than other weather apps that constantly change the percentages
