EyeLoveBirds: Bird Checklists Reviews

As a nature lover and hiking enthusiast, I found EyeLoveBirds to be very cool. Bird watching is something that I’ve been interested in but never really knew how to pursue, so EyeLoveBirds has helped me learn more about birds and be more engaged with my surroundings when I go on hikes. Easy to navigate and would definitely recommend to anyone even remotely interested in learning more about the natural world!

EyeLoveBirds is a little buggy. Have to reset EyeLoveBirds to get out of the add screen. Plus there’s no way to input info about the birds to narrow the search. I use Merlin for that. You also can’t click the birds you’ve found to look at pictures and info. It would be cool if EyeLoveBirds could show what other people have seen in an area.
The pictures, info and sounds are really nice though.

Updated: This is and update to my previous review. Thank you so much for helping resolve the problem they did it super quick and it was easy. Get EyeLoveBirds now it is amazing bird watching is the absolute best and even if your questioning getting it then get EyeLoveBirds anyway because it is amazing!!

That's the question I wanted answers for. Unfortunately, I can't see any way of answering the question without going through over 500 bird species pictures here in Florida. No questions like color? Tail shape? Size? Perhaps I'm missing something. I bought the Florida list, but why? Especially when the listing mentions helping identify birds. I can find every picture of every bird on Google. I don't see an advantage here. But...I'm not a birder, just a curious photographer.

I really like the way the species profiles are set up and that I can see multiple pictures and hear their songs and calls. It’s exactly what I was looking for. However, I would like the ability to filter the bird list by season and bird characteristics to help me ID birds more quickly.

I’ve paid for the birds of the US and yet it doesn’t have the famous song of the white-throated sparrow or the characteristic screech of a Red Tailed Hawk. I’d update my review to more stars if they could manage to improve some of these basic things. (Also more photos would be nice, like the hawk in flight - there’s plenty of commercial use images online).

But I have a question and I have not been able to find my answer or anywhere to ask someone.
In my bird list, some of the birds have a box that says RA or PE next to their name. I’m not sure what that indicates. A FAQ section on the website would be a good addition.

EyeLoveBirds is easy to use and very informative. I like being able to make a list of birds I’ve seen plus proceeds from in app purchases are donated to conservation organizations so you can learn about the birds and help them!

Not sure if it’s offensive in the bird community, cuz I’m new. But I’ve been snapping pics of my egrets and my cormorants and I wish I could upload the photos to go along with my sightings. Not for everyone else to see, just for me to look back on and show my friends when I’m talking bout the birds and the bees.

Also, wish I knew the migration patterns. I’ve seen birds and wondered what pattern they’re in in their cycle but without a calendar I’m never sure if they’re local or just passing through...

Got EyeLoveBirds mainly to call birds. Seems to be good quality recordings. Like that there are usually both calls and songs for each bird.
Is there a way to play the songs/calls in a continuous loop? Most playbacks are only about 5 seconds long and require constantly hitting the replay button. That’s the reason for the lower rating.

Wonderful app. I had problems with downloading lists, but enabling background updates fixed this.

You would expect to be able to find a bird by its color, or if you know it’s a duck to be able to search ducks. Unless you already know the complete name of a bird, it is virtually impossible to find what you are looking for.
Once you search through the thumbnail pics and find your bird, the data is good.

I hike all the time, and often see birds I’ve never seen nor heard. EyeLoveBirds has helped me learn a ton about which creatures I’m encountering. It’s a great way to help document my trips

Great app, would give a 5 if delete sighting feature worked. Otherwise, we are enjoying keeping track of all the birds we are seeing!

Gotta catch em all. Love how EyeLoveBirds lets me collect bird sightings! The lists are very complete. If there’s a state in the list, and I can ID a bird I see, I can always find a bird in EyeLoveBirds and log that I saw it.

Cool app that seems really simple and useful! Gonna find myself using this a lot 😎 Cool how it uses your location to help identify birds! Definitely go give this a try!

Good app to kill a beginner’s joy of birdwatching. Lots of useful information on each species, but listing species alphabetically by common name makes finding a match to the bird in view practically impossible. It needs some organizing principle and an introductory ‘how to use EyeLoveBirds’.

Every screen I touched, something popped up asking me to buy something. EyeLoveBirds refused to use my full screen, just a tiny window in the middle. If I hit the expand button, it used maybe half the screen. Keyboard didn't work so I couldn't search anything. Why this garbage app is rated stop highly is beyond me.

There needs to be every bird for every place they can live at but apart from that good app

Love EyeLoveBirds but be fair warned that you have to pay for birds in your location!!!

There are many photos missing from the Louisiana list. I thought I would be able to upload photos from my sightings in addition to the sighting info.

Had to login just to create a simple list and didn't have as many common birds as advertised. Login didn't work through FB because of URL issues. It might be my IOS version, but if it claims to work, it should.
